PHOTOS: LASTMA Removes Army Truck Stuck After Illegal Turning

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority has disclosed that an Army truck got stuck after making an illegal turn at the Army Signal Barracks at the Mile 2 area of Lagos state has been removed.

This was disclosed in a statement shared on the agency's X account on Sunday.

The post shared alongside photos read, "In response to a complaint on a viral video from an innocent motorist about an Army truck that got hooked at the middle of the road while making illegal turning directly opposite Army Signal Barracks at Mile 2, after the flyover Bridge inward Orile.

"The Director of Operation LASTMA, Peter Gbejemede, led an enforcement of the Agency to the scene and immediately cleared off the hooked Army truck from the road to pave the way for unimpeded vehicular movement around Mile 2 area."

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, has replaced his military’s top general and called for increased weapons production, expansion of military drills, and preparations for the possibility of war.

The country’s state media KCNA reports that Kim made the comments at a meeting of the Central Military Commission, which discussed plans for countermeasures to deter North Korea’s enemies, a report by KCNA on Thursday said.
However, the report did not mention the names of the perceived enemies.

South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency said on Thursday that North Korea appears “focused on flexing its military muscle".

With a cigarette in hand, Kim was shown talking to a room full of uniformed top generals, and pointing at maps, images in state media showed, while he discussed "major military actions" against South Korea at a meeting of the Central Military Commission.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered President Muhammadu Buhari’s government to “account for the spending of $460 million Chinese loan to fund the failed Abuja Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) project.”

The court also ordered the government to “publish the total amount of money paid to Chinese and local companies and contractors, specific details and the implementation of the project.”

Hon. Justice Emeka Nwite made the orders while delivering judgment in a Freedom of Information suit number: FHC/ABJ/CS/1447/2019 brought by Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).

This was contained in a statement on Sunday by SERAP signed by its deputy director, Kolawole Oluwadare.

According to the statement, the suit followed the disclosure in 2019 by the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed that “Nigeria was servicing the loan,” adding that she had ‘no explanations on the status of the project.’ She reportedly said, “We are servicing the loan. I have no information on the status of the CCTV project.”

In his judgment, Justice Nwite said “there is a reasonable cause of action against the government. Accounting for the spending of the $460 million Chinese loan is in the interest of the public. It will be inimical for the court to refuse SERAP’s application for judicial review of the government’s action.

Justice Nwite also said that, “The Minister of Finance is in charge of the finance of the country and cannot by any stretch of imagination be oblivious of the amount of money paid to the contractors for the Abuja CCTV contract and the money meant for the construction of the headquarters of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

Justice Nwite also ordered the government “to provide the details clarifying whether the sum of N1.5 billion Naira paid for the failed contract meant to construct the headquarters of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) was part of another loan obtained from China.”

EFCC Intercepts N32.4m New Notes Allegedly Meant For Vote-Buying In Lagos
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has intercepted N32.4 million new notes allegedly suspected to be used for vote buying in Lagos. In a post on its Twitter handle on Friday, the anti-graft agency said officials also arrested a suspect who has been taken into custody for questioning. “The massive operation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to deter vote trading and other financial malfeasance ahead of tomorrow’s presidential and national assembly elections may have begun paying dividends with the interception in Lagos of the sum of N32,400,000 allegedly suspected to be used for vote buying in Lagos,” the statement read.

A lot of times, forgiveness isn't really for the person that f*cked up, it is for YOU (the offended).

You see the headaches, the grudges, the vendetta and the sleepless nights most of us experience when we decide not to forgive is really too much and simply not worth it...

Sometimes it's better to just sit down, reflect on the issue at hand despite the pain it might bring back. The feeling of relief, lightness and freedom that comes when you truly forgive is inexplicable.

Holding grudges is a very toxic way to live your life.

True federalism is is our TRUE PATH and the call for a free, open and a decisive sovereign national conference is the only way towards to achieve the goal.

Nigeria is a nation in decline, a giant on it's knees. We represent the biggest population of black people in the world yet we have the highest underdevelopment ratio. We have an enormous supply of crude yet all the refinaries are dormant. We are a country that has its currency exchange rate being manipulated by a small group of people for their personal aggrandizement.
We are a country that has the most human resources in Africa yet as at 2020, our unemployment rate was at all time high. We are a country on the brink of war, we are a country with shady past and an uncertain future.
But, we are a country that unites together in the darkest of times. We can unite to make Nigeria work again.

A call for a Sovereign National Conference is the way to restructure Nigeria. Not some constitutional conference this time around. We can't afford to break the nation.

Let's get Nigeria to true federalism.

We've had many conferences in the past, most of them being constitutional while some were tagged as being nationalistic but i tell you today that the nationalist concept was a mirage.

Constitutional conferences are meant to bring amendment to the laws and rules governing a country but we do not need that now. We might need it in the future but not now. Right now, what we need is a 'Sovereign National Conference' that is open, free and decisive. No reports this time around to people that will sweep them under the carpets.
A commission made up of neutral patriotic people elected from each geopolitical zones should be formulated and vested with decisive power to make the decisions of the conference which will be the will of the people happen.

If we could form commission like FEDECO and INEC then nothing should stop us from forming this one too as this is the way to revive our dear country from the echelons of parasitic sickness...

The debate for the best thing for the country has been going on for quite some time now. Some say Dissolution (when a state, institution, nation, or administrative region ceases to exist, usually separating into two or more entities like the cases of Czechoslovakia and the USSR. This can be carried out through armed conflict, legal means, diplomacy, or a combination of all or any of the three) is the best way to resolve our problems while another sets of people say Restructuring is the way forward.

The masses are suffering while the privileged few whom mostly happens to be those in government are getting fat off the limited resources of the state.
If steps are not taken, speculation will forever be speculations. The arrangements are biased and unfair but anybody who has taken the time to sit down to check the cases of dissolved countries will notice a decline in their social and economic factors (Germany, USSR, Sudan e.t.c)
Anyways, no one is individually fit to decide what's best for the country, that's a cross that the entire public should bear collectively ... That is the reason we are proposing that the patriotic and knowledged elites join hands to call for "A Sovereign National Conference ".

Not some deceitful Constitutional Conference like the ones conducted in time past.
This time we need a Free, Fair and Openly conducted National Conference!

The major contributors to Nigeria’s population growth are early marriages, high birth rates, and a lack of family planning access. The birth rate in Nigeria is about 37 births per 1,000 people.

Everyone has this dire desire to reproduce, the need is so strong that we tend to go the extra mile when things doesn't go our ways. But have you ever asked yourself : Is this environment conducive for an innocent kid?
Definitely not...

Before you start making your own litter of kids, it is important to understand that at least One in three Nigerians able and willing to work had no jobs in the fourth quarter of 2020, according to the National Bureau of Statistics.

The bureau reported Monday that Nigeria’s unemployment rate rose to 33.3 per cent, translating to some 23.2 million people, the highest in at least 13 years and the second-highest rate in the world. Unemployment rate in the country has more than quadrupled since 2016 when the economy slipped into a recession. A second recession occurred in 2020. Like most of our posts, this one is directed towards the youths... Brothers and sister, uncles and aunties, you need to be well informed with the consequence of every decision you'll make before you make them. Don't go around bringing innocent kids into this country without a solid means of taking care of them. Don't be a heartless hormonal element, be organized!

Honestly, do we really have the rights to pin the blame of the unprecedented dysfunctional situation our dear country is currently wallowing in on our undear leaders?

Truly, Nigeria has a dissatisfying reputation of producing leaders that can only be described as the worst of the worst....
Even Nebuchadnezzar shivers at the mention of Nigeria in Sheol .

It is however hypocritical to think for one second, that we the youthful bloods are better than the old cargoes...

Today, Fraud, prostitution, theft, ritualism and Kidnapping are all that the deemed "leaders of tomorrow think about". The economy is bad, the society is at the rock's bottom but our youths aren't so better than the killers in mansions that they so like to accuse of spoiling this nation...

Integrity, strong will, contentment, discipline are not the qualities of our calibre of men.

Mostly, I am deeply ashamed to be in the same geopolitical location as these bad eggs in youthful bodies...

With the numbers of core realists in this society depleting at a combustible rate, being brutally realistic and open-minded are the least qualities I must embody.

You, reading this post, before you imitate the trend of being a spoilt hypocritical ledger of complaint, I want you to acknowledge the fact that the upcoming sets of youths are worse than the old ones.

The only difference is that, they haven't tasted the bittersweet position of leadership...

Until we the youths take it upon our spoilt selves to retract from the errs of our arrogance, the future of this country is never certain!
