Kylian Mbappe beats Lionel Messi to win 2022 World Cup Golden Boot.

French striker Kylian Mbappe has been awarded the Golden Boot of the 2022 World Cup after finishing the tournament on eight goals.

Mbappe got a hat-trick in the thrilling World Cup final against Argentina to take his tally for the tournament to eight. Messi finished the tournament with seven goals.

The Golden Boot will be the French footballer's only consolation as France was beaten 4-2 on penalties by Argentina after a 3-3 draw.

Mbappe also made history as he is only the second player to score a hat-trick in the World Cup final, after Geoff Hurst, with England against Germany in 1966.

American rapper, Kirshnik Ball popularly known as Takeoff, a member of the hip hop trio, ‘Migos’ which includes Quavo and Offset, has been shot dead while playing a dice game at a bowling alley in Houston.

This is the most difficult news. 💔

Ifeanyi Adeleke, the 3 year old son of Music star, Davido and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland has sadly died.

The tragic death occured on Monday, October 31.

Ifeanyi died by drowning at his dad's Banana Island home. He was rushed to Evercare Hospital in Lekki where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The couple had traveled for a family gathering to Ibadan yesterday and had left Ifeanyi with his minders who can't explain how he entered the pool without being noticed and drowned.

We gathered that some of the people at Davido's House when the incident happened have been arrested.

A distraught and inconsolable Davido was removed from Evercare Hospital and taken to his father's house where he remains as at press time.

Quite a number of Davido's industry friends are at the hospital this night.

This is so sad. May God give Davido and Chioma the fortitude to bear this deep loss.

Nationwide jubilation as ASUU suspends its 8-months-old strike.

The Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU) has suspended its eight-month-old industrial action conditionally, a member of the union’s National Executive Committee told Channels TV early Friday.

The union decided to suspend the strike during a meeting of its leadership that started on Thursday night and lasted into the early hours of Friday.

The meeting was called by the union to determine its next line of action after its state branches met over the Court of Appeal ruling last week. The Court of Appeal had ordered ASUU to suspend the strike before its appeal of the ruling ordering lecturers to resume work can be heard.

Members of the union’s National Executive Committee, which comprises the chairmen of the state chapters and members of the national executive, attended the meeting at the ASUU National Secretariat in Abuja. ASUU has been on strike since February 14 this year.
