1. THERE, THEIR, THEY'RE
There- Used to refer to a particular place or to indicate a general location. It can be a noun, pronoun, adverb, or adjective. Never use to show possession.
Example:
Their is joy in the morning❌
There is joy in the morning ✅
Their - Always a possessive adjective. It is used to express possession and indicate who something belongs to.
Example:
I met with there Mum ❌
I met with their Mum ✅
They’re - Refers to what people or things are doing. The word "they’re" is the short form of "they" and "are".
Example:
Their going to Chicago❌
They’re going to Chicago ✅
2. WE, WILL, WE'LL
We- The first-person plural personal pronoun used by a speaker to refer to himself or herself and one or more other people considered together.
Example:
Will are coming ❌
We are coming ✅
Will- The most basic and common form used to express the future or a strong determination to do something.
Example:
I we go to school ❌
I will go to school ✅
We'll- The short form of "we" and "will". Used instead of the long-form "We will".
Examples:
Will see you tomorrow ❌
We'll see you tomorrow ✅
3. I'M, AM
AM- Always used with the word "I", as the first person singular version of the verb "be".
Example:
Am eating ❌
I am eating✅
I'M- Used to express how a person perceives himself. The short form of "I" and "am".
Example
Am always early❌
I'm always early✅
4. WHERE, WERE, WEAR, WE'RE
Where- Refers to a specific, unknown place. When used in a question, it asks about a place or location and functions as an adverb or pronoun.
i. Example:
Were is the pen?❌
Where is the pen?✅
ii. As a conjunction, it means in or at a specific place, time.
Example:
Home is were the heart is❌
Home is where the heart is✅
Were- Used as the second person singular past, plural past, and past subjunctive of the verb "be."
Example:
You wear there ❌
You were there ✅
