ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY: Affiliated PDP Support Groups under Delta Political Vanguard Celebrates Governor Oborevwori, One Year in Office, Passes Vote of Confidence on Him, Made Strong Appeal to the Governor for Appointment Slots

The euphoria surrounding the first anniversary of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori's administration continued yesterday, Monday, June 3rd, 2024, as members of various affiliated PDP support groups under the aegis of Delta Political Vanguard (DPV) gathered en masse at the Governor's Office Annex in Warri to drive home their message.
The occasion was marked by celebrations and a demonstration of unwavering support for the Governor's superlative performance over the past year.
The leadership of the PDP Support Groups under the umbrella of Delta Political Vanguard used the opportunity to pass a vote of confidence on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, applauding his achievements and governance in the past twelve months. In a press statement signed by Hon. Prince Ewetan Omastaye, Chairman of the Press Conference Organizing Committee, and Comrade Henry Ogboru, Secretary, the DPV Groups expressed their warm congratulations to the Governor on his first anniversary in office.
They also made a very strong point on the need for the Governor to remember them for appointments which they stressed as the best form of empowerment they are expecting from the Governor to quench their taste after working as footsoldiers to deliver His Excellency RT Hon Sheriff Oborevwori successfully as the winner of the tough 2023 gubernatorial battle.
The Press statement signed by Hon Prince Ewetan Omatseye , Chairman Organizing Committee and Comrade Henry Ogboru , Organizing Committee Secretary , made available to Pointer Newspaper reads in part: "As you mark the first year anniversary in office, we, the State Coordinators of various support groups affiliated under the Delta Political Vanguard (DPV), wish to congratulate you on this auspicious occasion. May God Almighty give you the Governor the ability to pilot Delta State to the next level of greater heights using the instruments of the MORE Agenda.
Despite their celebrations and support,
for the Governor, the affiliated DPV Support Groups clearly expressed their grievances concerning the lack of appointments for their members. The Support Groups Under Delta Political Vanguard highlighted with emphasis that during the election campaign, promises were made by the Governor to meet with support group leaders and discuss appointment slots. However, they noted that these promises is yet to be fulfilled, leading to frustration among their members.
The press statement further emphasized, "We have met the leaders of DPV several times concerning our much-needed appointments, and they replied that the Governor has not released any appointments for support groups. Your Excellency, why is it that after your victory and up till now, you have not remembered your promise to call all the leaders of support groups for a meeting through which our appointments can be made possible.
The Support Groups under DPV stressed the importance of fulfilling these promises to maintain trust and confidence among their members, who tirelessly worked at the grassroots level to ensure the Governor's victory during the 2023 gubernatorial race.
They further buttressed the genuineness of their demand for appointments , saying: "Your Excellency, our long wait to get appointments has made some of our members lose trust and confidence in us. As a Father General to us, do not undermine all the affiliated support groups because we are grassroots politicians who live, eat, and drink with the people at the grassroots , so appointment for us is by extension building stronger grassroot futtresses for your future victory to be made easier come 2027.
The DPV Support Groups in their compassionate appeal to Governor Sheriff Oborevwori reminded him of his campaign slogan, "WHO WORK MUST CHOP," and urged him to consider their plight because Justice delayed is Justice denied.
With one Speaker Speaking after the other, they all concurred in their plea as
they requested that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori should recognize their hard work and remove the shame that has been branded upon them due to the lack of appointments.
They lamented in one of their comments: "We are already being branded as political orphans, but we know that we have a Father in the person of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State, that is why we are crying to him , because we believe he is a magnanimous Father indeed who will not let us down."

of the Governor office Annex Warri includes Comrade Paul Abaide, Media Director, Comrade Stanley Oduaga PRO , ( aka Osama), Comrade Egbo Ighosotu Ferdiland, Kesiena Edna Adviser, Mr Joseph Atiyota, Madam Roseline Goodluck Ayaroh, Comrade Alex lghoakpokrire the Ethiope East Coordinator . Speaking Onbehalf of Delta Central, they stated : " We strongly appeal to His Excellency, RT Hon Sheriff Orohwedor Oborevwori, the Governor of Delta State to consider us for appointments which is a fundamental neccesity needed by all the affiliated Support Groups of Delta Political Vanguard which gave their total Support to deliver the Governor during the 2023 gubernatorial race."
They added: " Secondly, we.are wholeheartedlly Congratulating the Governor for his resounding achievements in the health care sector, the rennovation and eqquipping of Hospitals and Health Care Centres within his one year in office has been Improved tremendiously for that we give him more kudos."
Continuing, they said: " The Governor's focus on the Health,-Care has saved lives and ensured that People get the Medical attention they deserves. we truly appreciate the MORE AGENDA which places priority on health care and the well being of Deltans."

Princess Ebelle Mabel Ogu, who represented Delta North in their speeches asserted that the PDP Support Groups are gathered to congratulate the Governor over his first annivversary milestone, to express their love for the Governor who has brought rapid development to the State, especially in the provision of road infrastructures.
The Delta North reps said:
"After Passing our vote of confidence on the Governor for his impressive performance, we are here to also register our grievances and make a compassionate appeal to our amiable Governor to consider the affiliated Support Groups under the aegis of the Delta Political Vanguard Who truly Worked for him for appointments."
They explained that Without these appointments which is a tool of empowerment we will not be able to function as footsoldiers the Way we did in 2023 hence the clarion call on the Governor to effect our request to enable us to do better when it is time to
mobilize our support base.
They added: " During the 2023 campaigns, we followed the Governor campaigning from Ward to Ward, from Local Government to Local Government., that is why we are begging the Governor to do for us what he is doing for others. Those People taking the glory of our work must stop it. We are proud of the Governor for bringing Julius Berger to Delta State under the MORE Agenda . We also want the wonders of the MORE AGENDA to Show in our body because we are the Political children of the Governor."

Who represented Delta South in their Various speeches stated:" We have witnessed unassailable development in Delta State under the Street Credible Governor, we are happy for that credible performance in just one year.The crux of today's matter is that , we the affiliated Support Groups under the aegis of DELTA POLITICAL VANGUARD want the Governor to remember us for appointments."
Speaking further , they remarked:
"We Worked for the Ukodo which is done already, hence we are appealing for our share. We hereby Pledge our total loyalty once again to the Governor as footsoldiers of our great Party, , PDP who played pivotal role in the 2023 gubernatorial race."
The Support Groups. stressed that they are not stoping at the vote of confidence passed on Governor
Sheriff Oborevwori they are prepared and ready to also deliver him come 2027 for second tenure.
The Support Groups under Delta Political Vanguard remains poised and hopeful that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori will address their concerns and honor the promises made during his campaign, thereby strengthening the bond between the Governor's office and the grassroots supporters who played a crucial and pivotal role in his electoral success.
