PROSPERITY YOUTHS COALITION(PYC) ON THE MOVE:

PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO HON. BASIL KENBO ON THE DEATH OF HIS FATHER, AND SOLIDARITY VISIT TO HON. BRIGIDI IRIGHA ON HIS BUTCHED ILLEGAL ARREST BY UNMARKED SECURITY PERSONNEL.

The Prosperity Youths Coalition (PYC) as part of its duties saddled on it by the Prosperity Government and as loyal foot soldiers of the government ably led by His Excellency Sen. Douye Diri the Executive, today paid condolence visit to the Technical Adviser to the Governor on Federal Projects Hon. Basil Kenbo, over the death of his father Pastor Kenbo who died recently at the age of 77years following a brief illness. The PYC led by its Director-General Snr. Comr. Doubra Kumukou sympathized with the Kenbo family and prayed God to grant each member of the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Speaking at the visit the DG Comr. Doubra assured Hon. Basil that youths of the state stand strong with him at this hour of grief as members of the family united under the covering of the all accommodating umbrella that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has evolved to become.

Barr. Igbeta Ayebakuro who’s the scribe of the group spoke earlier on behalf of the group and while informing the host the purpose of the visit, remarked that the Late Pastor Kenbo lived a virtues life and would be remembered for his contributions to society, thanking God for the gift of men like Hon. Basil who were raised with integrity and the fear of God to now becoming strength and motivation for the youth of today.

The PYC assured the TA and his family of their readiness to provide every support within their means to ensuring that their late father is given a befitting burial, requesting that active roles be assigned the youths of the Prosperity Government at the burial.

The entourage of the PYC included dignitaries notable amongst whom are the Chairman of the Bayelsa Volunteer Service High Chief Asanakpo, Hon. Igodo, Hon. Seigha Augustine, Hon. Ebiki Timitimi, Hon.Preye Okoriye, Hon.Satarigha, and others.

The group thereafter proceeded to the Bayelsa State House of Assembly Quarters for a solidarity visit on Hon. Edward Irigha Brigid the honourable member representing Nembe Constituency II in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

The general public especially Bayelsans were thrown into confusion and apprehension when some unmarked and unidentified men claiming to be security operatives attached to the SWAT Unit of the Nigerian Police Force whisked away the admired honourable in a botched abduction attempt. It was gathered that heavily armed men acting on some malevolent, mischievous and illegal orchestrations broke in and abducted Hon. Brigidi at gunpoint. To God be the glory it took the swift intervention of the Miracle Governor Sen. Douye Diri and his dependable/workaholic Deputy Sen.Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to botch the illegal abduction dubbed arrest.

At Hon. Brigidi’s residence the PYC thanked him for opening his doors wide open to receive the body even at the very short notice, Barr. Igbeta speaking on behalf of the body thanked God for the miraculous rescue as no one can guess the evil intention of the abductors and those behind the commando style operation, assuring that being a member of the legislature, Hon. Brigidi irrespective of his political leanings and affiliations is now a property of Bayelsa State and his security is a shared responsibility of every institution and organ of the state.

The delegation prayed God to protect, preserve and guard the Honourable member from those that seek to cause him arm or hurt.

The DG Senr. Comr. Doubra Kumokuo remarked that even though the danger has been averted, Hon. Brigidi should feel free to call on youths of the state in the slightest sign of danger, as the PYC has enough capacity to thwart any devilish manipulations aimed at his office and life.

Hon. Edward Irigha Brigidi thanked the delegation for finding time to visit him in the face of the ugly incident, and irrespective of the party differences. He noted that he emerged as a member of the house primarily because the constituents have now moved away from the concept of party loyalty to voting on the merits and character of the individual contestants, and that he as a person believes in the will and capacity of Douye Diri and his team to deliver the dividends of democracy to Bayelsans.

BAYELSA UNITED/QUEENS:

THE DEDICATION/PRIORITY GIVEN TO SPORTS/YOUTH DEVELOPMENT BY GOV.DIRI MADE THIS VICTORY POSSIBLE~ BAYELSA STATE CENTRE FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT.

The leadership of the Bayelsa State Centre for Youth had come out to Congratulate first the Governor, Sen.Douye Diri and his workaholic Deputy Sen.Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for the needed support and moral booster given to Sports and other related Youth activities in the state, which has made it possible for the duo state football teams of Bayelsa United and Bayelsa Queens to make us proud before the entire Country.

Indeed it is true that when preparation and experience meets opportunity in leadership, the people will begin to prosper and see results in all ramifications, It is still within the annals of our history how the Governor had prepared himself for leadership for over two decades since the creation of our dear State, one of such was when he mounted the Ministry of Youth & Sport as a Commissioner, thereby garnering this wealth of experience to know what & what to do in other to revamp and turn around the fortunes of Bayelsans in almost all sectors of their economic life.

Our sincere and heartfelt appreciation goes to the entire Management Board, the coaching/technical crew and the players who stood with utmost determination without fear or intimidation to make this Victory a reality. This appreciation cannot also be complete without recognizing our teaming supporters from all nooks and cranny, both private individuals and Public servants, Sport writers/Journalists who saw the reason to support our own at all times, which is what gave the players the needed psychological stability to be able to achieve this feat.

In conclusion, We want to also seize this opportunity to encourage our Youth who are skilled in divers ways to see this as a challenge and never to give up on the Gov.Douye Diri led Prosperity Administration in the State, as this is just a piece of the iceberg for so many other Skills, Talent/Potential drive support and programs that would be unleashed soonest by this Government.

REMINISCENCES: THE REBIRTH OF THE KAIAMA DECLARATION: BARR. IGBETA AYEBAKURO AND THE IYC CENTRAL ZONE PROJECT

QUOTE ON THE MARBLE
“When we put together the ideals and ideas of our fathers, we meant it, it was not a joke. When we christened it “The Kiama Declaration, it was beyond a document, it run through our veins like sweet wine. When we put our foot forward and engaged the authorities, they knew we needed answers, not explanations. When the ranks were tampered with, and things seemingly began to fall apart, we knew it was a man-made malady, a hard of Esau that required the dexterity of the cerebral and uncommon to undefy. When it took the form of “emerging trends” and concomitant paradigms, we knew it was a hemorrhage, and the usual justification of semantics that comes with it. And in the usual show of strength of our character, we refused to dither, but kept the fires of the fighting spirit aflame and alive: we waited and sustained our perseverance in the struggle even when there were good reasons to back down and surrender. And now that duty sounds the clarion call, we revel in the privilege to alter the status quo. It is a call to service, the service of our dear motherland, the motherland of an endowed, determined, irrepressible and vociferous people.
REDEFINITION + REJUVENATION+ RESUSCITATION+ AND RESTORATION

PREAMBLE
A socio-psychologist and doyen of the legal profession, Samuel Agbura Esq. once said, and I quote:
“Throughout history, it has been proven time and time again that the first infrastructure of every patterned, cultured, structured and habitable clime or geographical landmass was a unique, responsible, visionary and dependable leadership.”
Conscious in part of this reality therefore, the Ijaw motherland has characteristically called out her sons and daughters to a national convergence as she periodically estimates, prognosticates and decide the development path, agenda and direction of her people and region over an interregnum through the vehicle of the youths, under the auspices of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide: the common brotherhood that binds Ijaw youths together.
THE THESIS
The potentials for Development in Ijawland both in human and material resources unquestionably abound in measures, and runs in avalanche. For decades, it has been the major talking point on several platforms around the globe.
Studies and findings enormously chronicles verity of this reality.
THE ANTITHESIS
Notwithstanding these very visible and quite enormous potentials for development, delivery of the development itself, especially via the index and indices of the Ijaw youth has remained a far cry.
The needed galvanization in the youth leadership which is the citadel for this metamorphosis has continued to remain a far cry away from what is required.

THE SYNTHESIS
If the words of the sage quoted herein earlier is anything to go by (and of cause it is), it captures and indeed communicates the understanding that good leadership is indeed infrastructure. That being the case, it communicates the synergy that facilitates and drives every tangible and measureable development, thus connecting the dots that give meaning when expressing the relationship in man, material and natural resources. This incidentally is not a possibility that sprouts of its own accord. No, it isn’t. Neither is it one that flourishes and prospers in an environment characterized and chequered by divisions and factions, the twin concepts that have bedeviled our existence as an organization in recent years. it is rather one that can only be made possible by A BRIDGE ACROSS THE DIVIDE.
When it comes in any other brand, form, shade or colour it is certainly a counterfeit, except it comes in the capacity and ability of a visionary, thorough-bred, rugged, and leadership-tested and trusted. Ladies and gentlemen, we introduce and reintroduce the man, our man for these critical moments and times ahead: Barr. Igbeta Ayebakuro Itari PASA- (Peace Advocate and Service Ambassador).
THE MAN “IGBETA AYEBAKURO ESQ.”!!!
CITATION AND PROFILE
Comr. Barr. Igbeta Ayebakuro is a grassroot politician, a peoples and environmental rights activist, a charismatic and amiable Lawyer, and public affairs analyst and commentator.
A natutal leader with proven experiences and track records in leadership, having served out his three (3) year term as National Legal Adviser of The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) World Wide, he has been inundated with calls and beckons to present himself for the chairmanship and leadership of the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC Central Zone.
Born on the 30th May, 1987 in the ancient city state of “Nembe Kingdom” in present day Nembe Local Government Area of Bayelsa State Comrade, Igbeta Ayebakuro attended the Ebinimi Nursery School, Nembe from 1988-1991, the St. Luke’s Primary School, Nembe from 1992-1998 and the old Nembe National Grammar School, popularly known as (NNGS) from 1998-2004. Emerging through the ranks of leadership at various points, at the Grammar school, he was for the first given his first leadership responsibilities as he was appointed Punctuality Prefect, and also doubled as the Students Rep of the 2004 WAEC/NECO Students/Teachers Joint Committee.
He then proceeded to Rivers State College of Arts and Science (RIVCAS), Port-Harcourt, now Port-Harcourt Polytechnic were he was admitted to study Law. There he was elected President of the National Union of Bayelsa State Students (NUBSS), Worldwide RIVCAS Chapter. He later became the Chief Whip of the NUBSS Senate Council, in a keenly contested Election under the leadership of Comr. Joshua Amangala as National President of NUBSS, then later Gift Douglas, and Comr. Tari Ekardi as Senate President. Irrespective of the heavy demand in unionism at the time, he obtained his National Diploma in Law from that institution with a Higher Credit Classification.
The desire for exposure, adventure, the appreciation of etnic nationalities, inter-cultural relations and our nationhood as a nation saw him journey to the far North where he got enrolled into the prestigious AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY (ABU), Zaria and began another Diploma studies in Law in 2007, being the Institution’s prerequisite at the time apart from JAMB for direct entry Admission into their Law Degree programme. There he contested and won the Bayelsa State Students Election even as a Diploma Student, but was taken to the Ahmadu Bello Students Representative Court and asked to concede the former due to the yawning need to protect the interest and preserve the dignity of the then degree students. He was later persuaded to recontest the position, and in 2009 emerged as the NUBBS President, ABU Zaria. He later emerged as the Ag. Senate President of the National Union of Bayelsa State Students NUBSS Worldwide and worked closely with the Bayelsa State Government Bursary Committee headed by Hon. Jonathan Obuobite, the then Chairman, House Committee on Education during the regime of Chief Timipre Sylva. There he actively partook in the verification of genuine students of Bayelsa State extraction in the various institutions across the country and ensured their two (2) year Bursary entitlement were paid.
At the expiration of his tenure as chapter and Senate President, he was called upon and pressurized to re-contest for a 2nd term due to his sterling leadership qualities which he has exhibited over time. He contested and won by an overwhelming majority, and was returned elected as NUBSS President, ABU Zaria for a 2nd term in 2011. He thereafter contested for the Senate Presidency for a 2nd term and also won under the leadership of then Comr. Agbada S. Agbada (2012/2013), the now a Lagos Lawyer.
That leadership in partnership with the Bayelsa State Government led by the Hon. Henry Seriake Dickson saw the organization at a landmark Cultural Week for the entire Bayelsa State Students, an event that had remained in the consciousness of many as second to none since the inception of unionism in south-south Nigeria.
While serving as the Senate President for the 2nd term, Barr. Igbeta on account of his reputable standing was also elected as Chairman, Dinner Committee, Faculty of Law (ABU) Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, his alma mater. It was the first in the history of that faculty & institution for a Christian and minority from the Niger Delta to occupy such an exalted position at that level- a graduating class of about 320 Lawyers. In attendance at the dinner were dignitaries, uncommon personalities and representatives of Governors, Ministers, Commissioners and other Dignitaries both within and outside the Country.
Ayebakuro Igbeta, bagged his LL.B (Hons.) from that institution in 2013, and then proceeded to the Nigeria Law School, Abuja Campus for the 2013/2014 Session, and was there elected President, South-South Law Students Forum. He served out his tenure successfully and was called to the Nigeria Bar as Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria In 2014.
He ventured into active practice briefly, and later worked very closely with the Former Special Adviser on Security Matters, S.A. Security, Lt. Col. Bernard Kenebai Rtd. now Hon. Member Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Sagbama Constituency II. He served with him as the Coordinator of the “KENEBAI YOUTH VANGUARD” and later became DIRECTOR ON YOUTH, “KENEBAI CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION” were he led a vigorous campaign for him across the sixteen (16) communities in the constituency. He also later became the Coordinator, Young Lawyers Coalition for Good Governance.
He has also been very active and effective in the activities of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, and has attended several IYC Conventions and Consultative forums. He was also a front runner in the last IYC elections and was elected into office as the National Legal Adviser of the 7th Council under the leadership of Barr. Oweilaemi Pereotubo. Here in service, he was unanimously endorsed and subsequently appointed to head and chair the Constitutional Amendment/Harmonization Committee at a well attended Constitutional/Non-elective Convention at Eastern Zone.
Little did he know that his uncommon dedication and commitment to leadership, rectitude, advocacy and non-violent agitation had caught international limelight, as in 2020, he was conferred with the prestigious Peace Advocacy and Service Ambassador Investiture- PASA by the International Institute For Peace, Service And Advocacy, IIPSA.
In his usual love for education and further pursuit in academics, he got enrolled into the Rivers State University, (RSU) in 2017 for his Master of Laws (LL.M) in Oil & Gas Law, which he concluded in 2019, awaiting his internal & External Defence before the outbreak of the Covid19 Pandemic.
Barr. Igbeta while serving as a National Legal Adviser of Council, was appointed by the then Acting MD of the NDDC, Prof. Nelson Brambaifa to serve as his Special Assistant on Media/Publicity in Feb.2019, making him one of the Youngest S.A’s that have served in the history of the Commission since its establishment in 2001.
His honesty and selflessness saw him as the Director-General of the Diri/Lawrence Youth Project, a very formidable and foremost youth group that campaigned tirelessly for the Prosperity Administration of the current administration.
Though a very young man with big visions, he has always committed his loyalty to God who is his father and only political sponsor. He has vowed to bring back together all the youths and stakeholders in the zone into one big family thereby redeeming the diminished Glory of our dear Central Zone which is the epicenter and headquarters of the Ijaw Nation.

He has also assured that the Dreams & Aspirations of our legendary Isaac Adaka Boroh shall through all legal means available and possible be actualized.

THE MANIFESTO OF BARR. IGBETA AYEBAKURO pasa.
As I offer myself in service and humanity, I seek to be bound by the following Policy statements, which shall serve as my policy thrust and directive principles for a better Central Zone of the IYC as its Chairman. While I look forward to your suggestions, robust contributions for possible addition, these shall remain our focus in the initial:
1. As a learned, experienced and cerebral Ijaw youth leader, I shall upon inauguration and assumption of duty as chairman of Central Zone deploy my dexterity towards giving the zone a facelift thereby making all & sundry repose confidence in Council, same being the alter ego of all Ijaws across the country.
2. I, together with all my Exco will work to create a Central Fund which will serve to assist in Soft Loan to all ijaw Youths within the Zone to encourage small businesses and start ups, and also cater for extreme cases of necessities upon due verifications; access to this fund will require meeting some flexible prerequisites, as may be prescribed by the Zonal Executive Council from time to time. This fund will be code-named “IYC CENTRAL ZONE LOAN FUND”
3. The IYC Central Zonal leadership shall in conjunction with critical stakeholders ensure that only persons who are prepared to carryout legitimate business peacefully would be allowed within the borders of our shores.
4. We shall drive a wide spectrum mobilization across all spheres and clans to shove up requisite revenue. The IYC solidarity stickers thus would be borne on commercial vehicles, ships and business malls in a consensual and mutually beneficial manner with the general public.
5. In giving effect to enforcement, we shall work in partnership with the Attorney-General of the State, and the State Board for Internal revenue in driving the process. Interestingly, talks have began, and the response so far is both interesting and encouraging. The House of Assembly shall also be part of this arrangement, as necessary statutory instruments are being put together in consultation with the House leadership for enabling enactments. We shall in line with and in further same, push for the declaration of every MAY 16th as state-wide public holiday to honour our Sage and International Hero, Major Isaac Jasper Adaka Boro.
6. As a Zone, we shall within the framework of law, morality, rectitude and social justice occasion a harmonious working relationship between the Zone, the National Executive Council, other IYC stakeholders and elders.
7. We shall as well engage the NEC who shall in like manner engage the Federal Government vigorously in ensuring that the Amnesty blue-print as originally conceptualized, agreed by all parties and signed by the Late President Umaru Musa Yar’adua is actualized to the letter thereby bringing to an end the incessant delays in the payment of stipends and training fees to concerned persons.
8. Together with the NEC we shall ensure a week-long ISAAC BORO DAY CELEBRATION across the Clans and Zones, culminating in a grand finale that shall held at the ancient city of Kiama, Boroh’s Home Town.
9. In broad consultation with our respected Elders & Stakeholders of the Zone, we shall evolve a comprehensive data base of all Ijaw sons and daughters, capturing their skill, capacity and educational qualifications, so as to make a case for them on the one hand, and ensure that the Federal Government, multi-national oil companies, Federal Government agencies, institutions and parastatals prioritize the employment of Ijaw Youths as custodians of the Nation’s wealth.
10. We shall equally ensure quarterly campaign/seminar against Drug Abuse, criminality & other social vices across all clans, and shall partner the State Government, security agencies, captains of industries, the civil society and the general public being the critical stakeholders in this regard.
11. For the first time the leadership of the Zone in collaboration with other volunteers shall designate special days for Clean-up, Sanitation and visitation of the oppressed and less privileged, and make a strong case for genuine and deserving cases.
12. We shall take up issues with the various multi-national agencies (IOCs) on issues environmental pollution and degradation of our water ways without adequate Compensation in view of their being strategic to the local economy and rural dwellers.
13. We shall keep in constant touch with our elders and stakeholders and constantly seek their advice and direction, as we seek to remain on the paths and pages of the Boro struggle, and the Kiama Declaration of 1998.
14. We shall encourage unity and peaceful co-existence amongst brothers. To this end, a MEDIATION CENTRE shall be established which shall resolve all issues between Ijaw sons and daughters in the zone.
15. We shall set up a legal team which shall make representation and offer pro bono (free) legal services for indigent and deserving fellows.
16. We shall put together an educational support fund for exceptionally gifted Ijaw sons and daughters’
17. We shall set up an Izon-Ibe national library which shall serve a knowledge repertoire and research center for multiple fields of study.
18. We shall pursue a policy that shall emphasize the priority of Ijaw sons and daughters seeking tertiary education in institutions within the zone.
19. We shall launch the clean-up of our creeks, rivers and polluted waters occasioned by oil exploration activities.
20. We shall advise government on the best paradigms in the development of our land and people.
21. We shall set up units which shall work with relevant security agencies to stamp out cultism and criminality from our zone.

22. We shall partner with IOCs to set up and improve existing Health Centres in the zone. We shall also support the funding of medical bills of indigent fellows.

With a common solidarity, it is my believe that the Central Zone of the Ijaw youth council (IYC), shall not only work again, but shall stand tall in the comity of socio-cultural organizations in our age, shall re-emerge as the pride of the Ijaw struggle in these trying and demanding times of our history as a people.
THESE SHALL REMAIN MY PLEDGE.

Thanks to you for your solidarity… thanks for your love…thanks for your commitment…and thanks for your dependable, assured and most valuable support.

A new central zone has already been born

God bless the Ijaw Nation!
Izon- keme –emi- a!
