Go and protect your lands from herdsmen, Buhari tells governors
President Mohammadu Buhari has insisted that governors complaining of herdmen attacks in their states should find a lasting solution to the problem.
The president said this in an exclusive interview with Arise TV aired on Thursday while answering a question on state police. He said that recently, two Southwest governors visited him to complain about herdsmen encroaching on farmers’ lands in their regions.
“You know these people more than I do, and you are democratically elected to protect your people. Don’t sit idly expecting me to do everything, take action,” he asserted.

After 7 years of closure, I have today reopened Government Secondary School Chibok where 276 school girls were abducted on 14 April 2014.
We will never allow that unfortunate incident or something similar to that weaken our determination towards providing free and compulsory education to every each and every child in the state.
For now, the school will be operating as a day school and not as a boarding school. The Governor assured the students.

Winners Pastor arrested for allegedly ra**ng his co-pastor’s 11-year-old daughter .
Pastor Joseph Anthony of the Living Faith Church in Njaba, Imo State, has been arrested for allegedly ra**ng one Favour Chikanma, the 11-year-old daughter of his fellow pastor, one Pastor Chukwuma Okoronkwo.
The spokesperson of the state police command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, said that Pastor Okoronkwo had accommodated Pastor Anthony in his house but took advantage of the fact that he was home alone with the victim.
On the r**e allegation, Pastor Joseph Anthony denied complicity but admitted that he was tempted to commit the act.
According to him, he had just been transferred to the Njaba chapter of Winners Chapel and was waiting to be assigned his personal residential apartment before another Pastor Okoronkwo offered to harbour him till he secured his own accommodation.

BREAKING!!! FG To Fence University Of Maiduguri With 64 Billion Naira
The Federal Government has begun the construction of the 27.3-kilometre perimeter fence for the University of Maiduguri to check incessant attacks by Boko Haram terrorists.
Inside Naija News, gathered that the project which is valued at N64bn, is to stop the terrorists who have been penetrating the North-East part of the institution’s campus.
Chairman, Academic Staff Union of Universities in UNIMAID, Dr Dani Mamman, who stated these in an interview said only the western and southern parts of UNIMAID campus were initially fenced.
He said, “The UNIMAID perimeter fence is still being constructed. The Federal Government approved N64 bn for the construction of 27.3-kilometre perimeter fence for UNIMAID. That place is very porous.
“The ASUU UNIMAID wrote to the Minister of Education through the ASUU president after an explosion during which we lost a professor and seven other staff.”

EBONYI BEGINS ELECTRIC TRICYCLE PRODUCTION TO BOOST IGR, REDUCE OIL DEPENDENCE.
Chijioke Agwu, Abakaliki
The Ebonyi State Government has said it has commenced production of electric tricycles to boost the state’s internally-generated revenue, provide employment and reduce over-dependence on oil revenues.
The government lamented the damage that the nation’s oil-based economy has suffered as a result of the coronavirus pandemic ravaging the world.
Special Assistant (SA) to Governor David Umahi on Vocational College, Ms Adaeze Nwaji, disclosed this while briefing journalists in Abakaliki.
Nwaji explained that there was a need to diversify the state’s revenue through converting gasoline tricycles and vehicles to electric and solar energy vehicle, especially as the COVID-19 pandemic persists.
She said “we are looking forward to seeing a situation where people will no longer depend on fuel but where all the tricycles and vehicles in the state are electrically-powered.
“We are working tirelessly to make sure that the governor’s zero oil economy initiatives are implemented. And that’s why we have come up with this.
“We are building waste-to-wealth projects by using abandoned containers to construct our tricycles body.
“We have a technology that enables us to convert gasoline tricycles and vehicles to electric and solar energy vehicles.
“Before the end of this week, we will have the first Ebonyi made- state tricycles and vehicles”
Speaking further Nwaji stated that Governor David Umahi had directed the Department of Automobile and Foundry of the college to ensure that the plan was achieved and sustained.
“Our governor is highly innovative and we are thrilled by his leadership style and we can’t help but get motivated.
“We are taking it to the next level. Secondly, we have the technology to convert existing gasoline vehicles to electric vehicles.
“The ones we are manufacturing have solar panel as an alternative power supply especially in the rural areas and this is part of the governor’s zero-oil initiative”
“Germany is currently doing this conversion and we will not be left out. We are joining the comity of nations to take a global action for the planet earth
“Electric vehicles will encourage zero-oil economy, protect the planet as it has zero-carbon emission
“As you can see it does not have an exhaust pipe. We are currently changing our electric vehicles with solar.
“It is a relatively new technology our organized technical team spent weeks studying and trying and we are now confident to speak about it. You know, knowledge is power,” she said.

The Ebonyi State capital, Abakaliki, this evening witnessed a Temple Run exercise between the government untrained and unmanered Covid-19 task force in the state has claimed the life of this woman who is yet to be identified.
The governor during week issued a statement that residents in the state can do business between the hours of 6pm to 7pm everyday to help ameliorate the Hunger lingering in the state.
She was running to avoid been harassed by the touts employed by the government while unknown car landed on her.
May her soul rest in peace.

PHCN official almost stoned to death while distributing bills
Ayorinde Olajide, a staff of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, IBEDC, was beaten to oblivion by angry youth on Thursday for distributing electricity bills at Isale Igbeyin/ Grammar School axis of Abeokuta, Ogun State.
According to him "I was busy distributing electricity bills to houses when I was attacked by a group of people asking me to stop the unnecessary distributing of bills, and before I could even explain to them they started throwing stones at me which affected my left eye.
I was badly beaten without pity for discharging my duty, even when my boss arrived at the scene to rescue me into her vehicle, a guy came and hit me on my my left eye.
I was later rescued by my boss who reported the attack at the Ibara Police Station after which i was taken to a nearby Hospital for medical attention."

-Any Company operating in Rivers State that does not assist the State in the fight against COVID-19 will hear from Rivers State. I don't go to them to beg for anything, I have not collected anything from them and so, I can stand firm and make a decision.
- We are not those State where a Governor receives 28million naira and snap pictures with it. In Rivers State, we don't collect Widow's Mite. You make money here, it is our entitlement. Look for the COVID-19 task force account and make your donations there. There are poor people who still have Pride and Integrity.
- I won you in 2015, I won in 2019, how many times do you want me to win you?
- The only opposition party in Rivers State is SDP who won a seat in the House of Assembly. How can someone from a party who cannot produce a single Candidate just within the party to stand for an election come out to talk about how to run a State? Go and put your house in order.

Governor Ayade Approves N30,000 Monthly Salary For 8,000 Youths.....
The Governor of Cross River State ,Prof. Ben Ayade, has distributed stimulus package to vulnerable persons and citizens in the 18 local government areas of the state .
Distributing the items on Wednesday at CROSPIL in Calabar, Ayade said he had already approved N 30, 000 as monthly stipend for beneficiaries of the automatic employment given to 8, 000 youths between the ages of 18 and 35 starting from Tuesday next week.
He said , “ Distributing food is not the real palliatives , the real palliative is in giving people jobs. Palliative which is temporal is for poor and vulnerable people who cannot fend for themselves .
“ We are starting the real palliative on Tuesday . Whether you are a gardener or cleaner ; whatever you can do , we will give you a job but we can only pay you N 30, 000. If you know you need it and want to earn that amount , please put down your names and phone numbers; you will be contacted.
“ The food will be shared through our traditional rulers to all the 18 LGAs. We want it to get to the grass roots ; this is not about political party, it is about governance. We will also give to churches and various religious organisations to distribute because they know the people well. ”
