𝙏𝙤𝙙𝙖𝙮 22-09_2023

The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in the Jos High Court validated my return as the duly elected candidate of the 18th March 2023 Governorship election in Plateau State.

I want to thank God Almighty who made it possible; I want to thank the people of Plateau State who have stood by us. I want to thank the Lordships for having the heart to do according to the detects of their conscience and according to the law.

To the people of Plateau State, I want to say the Hope they have placed in me is not mistaken, and by the Grace of God, we will deliver on this Hope.

We will become more proactive in the days to come and with the programs we have started, we will accelerate them and ensure we move at the best speed that we can to deliver.

God bless Plateau State.

Insecurity - Plateau govt set to revamp state security outfit Operation Rainbow

Plateau state Governor Caleb Mutfwang on Monday said that his administration would rejuvenate and reinvigorate the state’s security network, “Operation Rainbow’’.

He made this known while declaring a meeting of the reconstituted Plateau State Elders Forum in Jos the Plateau state capital.

It could be recalled that Operation Rainbow was established in 2010 as part of efforts to address insecurity in the state.

He explained that he convened the meeting to get the contribution of the elders on peaceful coexistence in the state.

In his words "Operation Rainbow is duly licensed by the Federal Government and we shall make it fully operational and ensure that it protects our communities Governor Mutfwang added ."

“We are working in concert with security agencies for the training of manpower for Operation Rainbow and I am confident that they will discharge their duties with a sense of patriotism,’’ the governor said.

He described the elders as critical stakeholders of the Plateau project and repositories of knowledge and wisdom.

The Governor acknowledged the elders inputs as crucial to deliver the expectations of Plateau people and assured that the meeting would be held regularly.

He also promised to revive the Inter-religious Council and have constant interactions with the Plateau Youth Council to ensure peace in the state.

He appealed to the elders to promote unity in their various domains to enhance development.

He said government had already allocated 3,000 bags of rice to the vulnerable in the state.

He added that a committee had been constituted to recommend innovative ways of using the palliatives to cover a wide spectrum of needs.

LABOUR MINISTER & EMPLOYMENT SIMON LALONG ASSUMES OFFICE; ASSURES OF JOB CREATION AND INDUSTRIAL HARMONY

Minister of Labour and Employment Simon Bako Lalong has formally assumed office at the Ministry's Headquarters, Federal Secretariat Abuja with a determination to work assiduously towards achieving President Tinubu’s mandate of providing decent job opportunities for Nigerians as well as maintaining industrial harmony.

Lalong who was received at the Ministry with the Minister of State Hon. Nkeiruka Onyeajeocha praised God for the opportunity to serve Nigeria through the benevolence of the President.

He said "This is a call to service and we shall do everything within our power to give our best in assisting the President fulfill his Renewed Hope Agenda for a better Nigeria. Nigerians have trusted President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima with their mandate, and therefore expect a better nation where their dreams and aspirations will be fulfilled".

He said under his stewardship, the Ministry of Labour and Employment will fulfill its mandate of ensuring decent work for all Nigerians and making sure that the citizens particularly the youth and women get the opportunity to deploy their energy, creativity, talent and gifts to the development of the nation.

"Because of the level of unemployment, underemployment and challenges associated with the work environment, we have been mandated by Mr. President to ensure that Nigerians get decent employment and are adequately remunerated for their labour both in the public and private sectors. We shall not spare any effort to protect the Nigerian worker and guarantee his dignity at all times. This administration will therefore escalate the relations with the private sector, development partners, international agencies, NGOs among others to make sure that unemployment and underemployment is reduced to the barest minimum according to the plan of the Tinubu Administration" he said.

LABOUR MINISTER RECIEVES MORE CONGRATULATORY VISITS

Former Governor of Taraba State Jolly Nyame has congratulated the new Minister of Labour and Employment Simon Bako Lalong over his appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

During a visit to the Minister's residence in Abuja, Nyame described the appointment of the former Plateau Governor as well-deserved giving the antecedents and record of performance of Simon Lalong.

He prayed God to grant him wisdom and knowledge to discharge his duties with integrity and honesty.

The former Deputy Inspector General of Police Habila Joshak was also at the residence of the Hon. Minister to rejoice with him over the appointment.

Forum of APC House of Assembly Candidates in Plateau State also came calling on the Honourable Minister whom they described as a worthy leader and performer.

Led by the former Majority leader of the State House of Assembly Naanlong Gapyil, the group pledged their loyalty and support to his leadership.

The Minister appreciated the visits and asked for prayers as he takes on the task of generating employment opportunities for Nigerians as well as sustaining industrial harmony.
