12/12/2023

I'm not gonna tell you what to do with your mon.ey.

It's your choice, you are gonna live with it.

If you desire to be financially independent, you are gonna have to make some serious decisions.

Make that decision, and stick to it.

12/12/2023

If all you do with your mo.ney is spend it, be prepared to stay in lack for a long time.

10/12/2023

It's December,

The pressure to spend more than you budget for will be high.

Don't fall for it.

Spend within your limit so you don't cry later.

Happy Sunday.

Rest, Rest, Rest.

🤔🤔🤔🤔

Someone asked this question,

"I was given a cash gift of 1 million naira during my parents burial.

I am confused on what you do with the money. Should I use it to go to college or learn a skill?".

Here was my reply,

Use it to learn a skill.

With that skill, you can further your education.

I wish I knew this sooner, I would not have gotten into college and landed myself in a bad financial situation.

I won't change my answer, learn a skill.

Do you have a different opinion?

Let's read it.

These past few months has been hectic for me.

I have been so careless with my spending.

So many issues kept coming up that would require me spending money not planned for.

I am ashamed to say that I haven't saved a dime for a while.

Aahhhh it's quite bad.

That's why this month I intend to at least save something that I would use to buy something reasonable for myself.

What's your mo.ney goals for this month.

02/12/2023

I'm grateful to God for making it possible for us to see this month.

As we have seen the beginning of this month, we shall see the end.

So shall it be.

Amen.

💰💰💰💰💰

The wish of the Lord, our Creator, is to prosper and be in good health even as He prospers.

God need you to prosper.

God wants you to prosper.

So go out there and prosper.

12/10/2023

Would you rather have money now, and lose it in a few years or focus on your skills now, and have lasting wealth in a few years time?

What's your choice?

Don't tell me, it will show in your actions.

"I was working in an offline job as a sales personnel. I enjoyed my job and did it well, however the work environment was too toxic for my mental health so I had to leave without a backup plan.

I was happy i left and I feel no regret because I am at peace with myself.

After some weeks, I went broke.

I didn't have a dime.

I wasn't able to afford simple things I needed such as toiletries and cosmetics.

I was worried.

I went on the internet to search for what I could do to survive financially.

I had to go online because I didn't want to work for anyone offline after what I experience at my previous job.

I searched and saw what I could finally do.

I started submitting applications and cover letters to companies, individuals that needed the services of a VA.

Sometimes I get a NO, most times no reply.

I couldn't stop, I had no choice, I just kept submitting and following up the applications till I was able to get some interviews which landed me my first job online.

I had no portfolio so I had to be convincing enough for them to hire me even though the pay was low at first.

As I improved, my pay was reviewed and it got better.

Now I'm looking to add another source of income to this".

Martha.

In my previous post, I wrote about getting a job.

You can see what Martha did.

Would you prefer to work online or offline?

Decide and start sending those job applications.

19/09/2023

Now, if you don't have money or you are broke, you have to do this.

First and foremost, get a job.

Yeah, get a job.

Apply for the job you can do with the level of skills you have.

Yeah, the pay might be small but it's a step.

Apply for jobs you can do both offline and online, keep applying until you get one.

Congratulations, you have succeeded in securing a job. Be proud of yourself.

Ensure you work harder than the best person in that company.

You might not feel or see the need to work harder than the rest of the staff but I want you to think long term.

Check my next post for an example 👍👍

There is a difference between " not having money" and "being broke".

"I don't have money".

This statement means that you don't have any consistent source of income. The only way you can get money is if you beg for it or ask your family, friends, and neighbors.

"I am broke".

This means that at least you have a consistent source of income but it's not enough for your monthly expenses.

There is a remedy for people in these situations.

Check my next post 👍👍

Let me clear that air here,

Being broke is okay.

Yeah, it's okay to be broke.

Being broke doesn't necessarily mean you don't have money, it means that you don't have money at that point in time to do what you wanna do with it.

Being broke is normal, yeah, really normal and you don't have to beat yourself up whenever you get broke.

You can choose to never become broke again by looking for ways to make extra income.

When you have daily income, daily alerts, you can never be broke.

Now add this to financial literacy, and you have financial freedom.

However, if you are always broke, then there is a problem.

It's either you need to make extra income or you have a problem managing your finances.

As for the former, there are things you could do to earn more income.

Check out my next post 👍👍

I'm broke, 😔😔

What do I do?

Although saving money is a good way to be able to manage your money properly, this action alone can't make you rich/wealthy.

Yeah, I know I was surprised at first.

I have always thought that I could be an employee and save a certain percentage of my salary every month for some years, and then I can resign when I have accumulated enough money.

That was what was in my head, but I later realized that it wasn't that way in reality.

This is due to the fact that the rate of inflation is increasing.

It's not only in Nigeria, everywhere around the world.

So saving money for a long time hoping to get rich is not advisable.

Instead, have a goal for saving money.

In case you don't have a goal for saving money, check my next post.

👍👍👍

There are other ways you can save money, yeah.

You can save money on transportation - instead of using Bolt, you can use public transport.

You can save money on utilities - like electricity and water, you can conserve the way you use these utilities so you won't have to pay so much.

You can save money on groceries - instead of buying in small quantities, you can buy in bulk to reduce cost.

You can save money on meals - you save money cooking your meals more than eating in restaurants.

So there are several ways one can save money - reduce cost.

Which of these measures are you conscious of?

28/08/2023

What is saving money?

Do you actually save money?

One of the key components in money management is Saving Money.

Saving money is keeping aside some money for future use.

This is also known as "paying yourself first".

This is a situation whereby any income you receive, you set aside some money for future use.

It could be for emergency funds or for a want you wanna get.

It's not about just saving money, you need to have a reason why you are saving money?

Do you save money?

How are you doing?

Financially of course

After a whole day of working on my content, I decided to take a walk to stretch my legs.

With my phone and an ear piece, I walked along my street, about to enter the next street when my eyes caught a crowd of persons waiting on a queue to get what they wanted.

At first, I was like, "This is amazing".

I moved closer to see who the owner is, and I was so surprised.

"Wow, she has really grown, and is still growing".

I knew Mma Comfort, she is a wife and a mother of four kids. Her husband does not have a steady job, and they were struggling financially.

I was at home, when she came to see my mum, and just wanted to talk to someone about her issues. My mum told her to start something small such as Akara and bread business and grow from there.

As at that time, my mum was just saying, my mum didn't actually think she would take that advise.

Mma Comfort did actually run with that idea, and she started with the little she had. It was quite small but she was consistent. Akara and bread business requires a lot of discipline, one has to wake up early to prepare and get ready for business if she wanted to sell because Akara and bread is mainly for breakfast.

She was doing it consistently, with encouragement from my mum. Her children and husband also supported her in the business, and it was growing.

In less than 6 months, she had already moved from an umbrella stand to a koisk - a container, which was a lot better. She was still doing it, and life was getting better for her and her family.

From that kiosk, she moved to a rented building where she now sells food and other related items making the place quite busy every time of the day.

She even has staff now, and she is looking more pretty than ever.

Now, have you noticed the difference between Sarah (in my last post) and Mma Comfort?

It's more of self-discipline.

Every time you complain,

"Oohh I don't have money",

"Oohh I'm losing my house",

"Oohh I'm sick, I can't work",

Oohh this

Oohh that

Every time you complain 😤😤
Every time you lament about one problem you have or the other.

Every time you talk about the problem as if it would help some way...

Let me shock you, this won't help.

The more you talk about the problem, the more you speak negative, the more you pronounce poverty upon yourself.

Be silent.

If you have a challenge with money, talk to God about it, and then be silent.

Pronounce life into your business, say positive things into your life, and see how things will transform for the better.

Complaints will not solve the problem but rather make it worse.

17/08/2023

Complainers gather around, come closer, let me ask you this.

Has your complaints solve your
problem?

As a salary earner, or an employer in a company you could use this method to save money.

This is the method that is effective for people finding it hard to save on their own.

I called this method, The Contribution Method.

It's quite easy and stress free.

This method make one discipline to save.

In an organization, you can gather some trusted staff and pitch the idea of saving to them.

After payment of salaries, each person will send the agreed amount to the person that is to collect on a particular month.

For instance, there are five people in the group.

Those five persons signify five months.

The group will decide who to collect on the 1st month, 2nd month, 3rd month, and so on.

The amount will also be agreed upon.

At the end of the month, the agreed amount (10k) will be sent to the first person to collect, making it 50k including the person's amount.

So instead of saving for 5 months to get 50k, you can get it in one month from this method.

This is the equivalent of saving 10k every month for 5 months, only that you can choose when and how you wanna collect the savings.

This method is effective and efficient if and when done with trusted individuals.

I have heard of cases where someone can fail to remit his/her share to the group, and this led to a series of problems.

Be sure the persons you wanna involve are trust-worthy.

Have you tried this method before?

Do you know that whatever you lay your hands on shall be fruitful?

Are you aware of this?

Are you aware that God wants His creation to prosper and be in good health?

Are you aware?

If you are not aware of this, now you know because I'm telling you this.

Whatever your hands touch will be fruitful and prosper.

Believe and it shall be so.

Have a splendid day.

15/08/2023

It's called personal finance for a reason,

It's personal.

It's a personal journey,

You have to make the decision first to improve your finances before discussing it with your family, friends, business partners.

Have you made a decision?

15/08/2023

If you go around asking people for urgent 2k,

Mehn you are a 🤦🤦🤦

Work on yourself please.

14/08/2023

👉 Disassociate with those friends:

If you need urgent 2k, and you ask your "friends", and they couldn't help you then you need to cut them off.

"A friend in need, is a friend indeed"

You are not my friend because I say so, you are my friend because of what you are doing in my life.

If all your friends do is to collect from you, and they never give you then there is something wrong with that friendship.

Cut it off.

How do you do that?

Invest in yourself, read books that would edify you.

Read books, watch movies that would build you up mentally.

When you do this, you will noticed that you won't be speaking the same language with your friends, that friendship would die a natural death.

You don't need to go and shout, and insult and the call it off, just focus on improving yourself and it would all fall in place.

I hope you got something here?
