Actress Funke Akindele Ditches Acting For Politics
Popular Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele, has revealed her plan to set aside her acting career as she vees into politics. The actress has in a video released on her social media pages, confirmed that she is the running mate of the PDP' candidate, Olajide Adediran popularly known as Jandor in the Lagos governorship election come 2023.
The actress was earlier nominated alongside four others, as running mate for Jandor.
She was nominated alongside Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, Kolawole Vaughan, Adenike Shobajo and [Rasheed] Teslim-Balogun. Among the five nominated candidates, Funke Akindele seems to be the most preferred of them.
The actress in a video on her page, revealed that she has accepted to be Jandor's running mate under the flagship of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in contest for the Lagos Governorship seat in 2023. This is a confirmation of earlier reports of her nomination which was made public by Jandor's spokesperson.
Congratulations to her and may God grant her more success. This is a sign of women participation in politics. But let's hope that women will have full participation in politics. We have had women deputize, women can be Governors as well. For instance, where we have a woman running for Governorship seat. Congratulations to Funke Akindele.

Flash: Renown lawyer and solicitor of the supreme court, Chief Malcolm E. Omirhobo, caused a feud today, as he attended judicial proceeding in his self styled native attire.
The senior lawyer caused a feud as he stormed the Supreme court of Nigeria sitting in Abuja in his traditional outfits.
This has generated mixed reactions online as netizens referenced the barrister as exercising his right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion as enshrined in the constitution.
Social media users believe that if Muslims can exercise their right to practice their religion by wearing hijab to the court room, traditionalists like Chief Malcolm have done no wrong by wearing his native attire to attend proceeding at the apex court.
A point of reference is the latest decision of the supreme court, where it upheld the wearing of hijab to school by female muslim students in Lagos state as part of their right to freedom of conscience thought and religion as established in the constitution.
