Ex-Militant Leaders Petition New Amnesty Boss To Buhari, Alleges Misconduct
4 mins ago3 Views

Angry ex-militants from the nine States of the Niger Delta region have sent a protest letter to President Muhammadu Buhari over the alleged misconduct of the newly appointed Head of the Interim Management Committee of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dixion Dikio (rtd.).

According to the ex-militant leaders, the letter written to President Muhammadu Buhari is to alert him on the alleged secret meetings between the Interim Coordinator of the Amnesty Programme, Col. Milland Dixion Dikio (rtd.) and the Former Amnesty Boss, Kingsley Kuku over the administration of the Amnesty office.

The angry ex-militant, led by Comrade Egbeoboh Joseph (Delta), said though the Interim Amnesty Boss has the right to consult stakeholders on the successful administration of the Amnesty office, the alleged secret meetings and secret working relationship with two former aides of Kingsley Kuku is suspicious and questionable.

Comrade Joseph, known along the creeks and waters of the Niger Delta as “water Spirit”, alleged that the secret working relationship between Col. Milland Dixion Dikio (rtd.) and the two former aides of Kingsley Kuku identified as Chief Henry Ugbolue and Larry Pepple is suspicious, vexatious, provocative and derail the judicious management of the Amnesty Office.

According to the ex-militant leaders, “we are worried and angered by the secret working relationship between the Interim Amnesty Committee and the aides of Kingsley Kuku. We are more concerned that these two aides have displayed questionable characters during the inglorious era of Kingsley Kuku as Amnesty Boss.”

“Col. Dikio held secret meetings with the former Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta, Kingsley Kuku prior to resuming office where they agreed to secretly work together using aides and proxies of kuku’s loyalists Henry Ugbolue & Larry Pepple.” They allegedly agreed to use these proxies companies as consultants as they did in the previous administration with one of their close aides already moving around and working with the new Amnesty Administrator.

“These individuals have been alleged to have carried out the same schemes with the former Amnesty Coordinator Prof. Charles Quaker Dokubo who paid hundreds of millions of naira to companies related to these individuals “Double Helix and Templecom which received almost N25million on a monthly basis as media consultants.”

“These individuals were part of those allegedly accused and dragged before a competent court over alleged decay and crisis of graft leveled against the Amnesty Office by some Niger Delta stakeholders. They were part of the decay in the Amnesty Programme which led to the sacking of Prof. Charlse Dokubo”

“They were arraigned on two separate charges bordering on criminal conspiracy, false declaration of assets and fraudulent acquisition of property to the tune of N55million” .

“Ugbolue, special assistant, media and communication and Mr. Pepple, technical assistant on reintegration, were to be arraigned alongside Kuku, but due to his (Kuku) continued absence in court, his name was removed from the charge to enable the two others enter their plea.”

” Kuku and Ugbolue were alleged to have conspired among themselves and awarded contracts running into millions to companies in which they had interests.”

” Ugbolue is allegedly the sole signatory of Great & Gamaliel Alliance Limited, the company which provided integrated management of communications and stakeholders’ engagement chain for the office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta.”

“On his part, Pepple is director and sole signatory for KER Global Wave limited, which was awarded a contract to provide Reintegration Support Services by the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta under the Presidential Amnesty Programme.”

” We call on President Muhammadu Buhari and the National Security Adviser Maj. Gen. Mohammed Babagana Monguno (rtd.) to call the Amnesty boss to order and warn him against associating with men of alleged questionable character that had, in the past, derailed the purpose of the Amnesty Office and provoke crisis among the stakeholders of the Niger Delta region. ”

But a source close to the Amnesty Office, said although official position on the issue has not been advanced, claims made by the ex-militant leaders are false. He Saida the Interim Management Committee of the Presidential Amnesty Programme will not be swayed by false and unfounded claims of alleged meetings, “the claims are false and unfounded”

“since the assumption of office, the new management of the Amnesty Office remained focused and determined to ensure transparent management of the Amnesty Office. They will not be swayed by this sponsors attempt to cause another crisis in the office.”

GORY TALES OF COMMERCIAL DRIVERS KILLED AND ROBBED OF THEIR VEHICLES

Wonders as the saying goes never ends. The adage appears to typify the scenario in which many people in their bid to make money venture into several criminal activities, even it entails killing an innocent person.

Some years ago a commercial transporter at Ekeki Motor Park in Yenagoa Bayelsa State, almost lost his life, when a woman accompanied by another man hired his vehicle on a chartered trip to Port Harcourt. The duo turned out to be members of a deadly gang whose speciality was robbing drivers of their vehicles after killing them.

The driver In this cases was strangled with a rope by the man in the vehicle from behind after the woman pleaded with him stop for her to urinate at a CONVENIENT spot.

left to die after been disposesed of his car, he was eventually found by some good Samaritans who took took him to the hospital, just inches away from death.
He still bears the scar of that gory encounter on his neck till date.

His close shave with death and another driver's whose experience a Facebook account holder, Ajevweno Ufuoma shared ( visuals inside) is one of such horrifying stories of the length some Nigerians would go to acquire wealth.

According to the Facebook user, "The young man (client) try to kill the Bolt (Taxify) Driver by stabbing him on the neck and hand.

But others have not been so fortunate as reports of drivers as well as passengers getting killed, or in some cases are kidnapped and ransome demanded.

Investigations have shown that kidnappers are now cashing in on the in kidney and other vital body parts business where they get big money in the illegal but highly lucrative trade.

While security agents are doing what they can to arrest this ugly trend, many Nigerians believe they are not doing enough as the reports of criminal acts committed by the evil vehicle hounds continue unabated across the country.

The motor-park driver in the Yenagoa story told Niger Delta Spectator Online, that information provided eventually led to the arrest of the woman who left him for dead, when she brazenly came back to engage the services of another unsuspecting transporter at the Ekeki Motor Park in the Bayelsa State capital.
