NDLEA Shoots Little Boy During A Raid At A Drug Joint In Okpanam, Delta State by nlfpmod: 9:08am

A raid on a notorious drug joint in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State by operatives of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) turned tragic on Thursday when a two-year old boy, Ivan Omhonria, was shot dead.

His younger sibling, Eromonsele, is now gasping for breath at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba as he was also hit by bullet.

Local sources said the victims were in their mother’s shop after school hours when they were hit by stray bullets.

A stray bullet was said to have brushed Eromonsele on the eye while Ivan was hit on his abdomen.

According to the locals, the victims were rushed to the FMC for surgery, adding that Ivan could not survive it.

State Commandant of the NDLEA, Mr. John Tunde confirmed the incident but insisted that his men did not open fire on the kids.

Tunde said when his men stormed the notorious drug joint to raid and dislodge the place, there was a Toyota Camry parked within the precincts.

He said while the operatives were surrounding the place, the Camry “ran over one of our men while escaping. And in attempts to demobilise the car, our men shot at it.

“What we cannot tell now is whether the children were inside the car at the time of the shooting. Our men did not open fire at any shop.

“As we speak now, our man who the car ran over, is at the Central Hospital in Ogwashi-Uku. Our attempt to stop the car was not successful as he escaped.

“So I can confirm that it happened but it is the true account that I have told you. We can’t be that unprofessional to open fire on a shop. I was at the hospital in the night with the father of the child. We are investigating it.”

Abba Kyari CFR OON (23 September 1952 – 17 April 2020) was a Nigerian lawyer who served as Chief of Staff to the President of Nigeria from August 2015 to April 2020.

Kyari was born on 23 September 1952, to a Shuwa Arab family from Borno. He was educated in St. Paul's College in Wusasa Zaria, and later considered joining the Nigerian Army following advice from Mamman Daura and Ibrahim Tahir. In 1976, he met General Muhammadu Buhari who was then Governor of Borno State.

He graduated with a bachelor's degree in sociology from the University of Warwick in 1980, and also obtained a law degree from the University of Cambridge. Kyari was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1983 after attending the Nigerian Law School. In 1984, he obtained a master's degree in law from the University of Cambridge. Kyari was an executive director in charge of management services at the United Bank for Africa, and was later appointed the chief executive officer. In 2002, he was appointed a board director of Unilever Nigeria, and later served on the board of Exxon Mobil Nigeria.

POS Operator Charged Me N200 for N10K Today in Abuja, His Reason Shocked Me .

The first transaction i did in Abuja via POS today was for 10,000 Naira

The POS operator, a lady from the south, took 1200 as her service charge—for old notes. I didn’t mind, I needed cash badly.

Unfortunately, like a drop of water in a very hot pan, I soon exhausted the 10,000.

With my bank app not working, I needed cash again. This time, somewhere in Wuse. The POS operator was from the north, a Muslim. He told me he was from the north-east.

So I told him, please, include your charges in the money you would pay me. He pointed 10,200 on the button of the machine. I thought he was making a mistake so I asked if he was sure that was his charge before I entered my pin. He nodded in agreement.

I got my money and before I zoomed off, I told him, “the first place I did transaction of same amount of money I paid 1200 for charges. Why is your own different?”.

From the conversation we have been having, I could tell that the guy was moderately literate. His response to me as to why he charged 200, and not 1200 the other lady had charged me has kept me thinking ever since then.

“Oga, I don’t just want to be part of the problem going on in this country. As long as I have money to dispense without extra cost, I will give it out to my customers without extra cost”.

I have been pondering over the statement ever since.
