World Day Remembrance of Road Traffic Crash Victims (WDoR 2021) FRSC Begin Awareness To Religions Centers.

First off, the Global status report on road safety, launched by World Health Organisation (WHO) in December 2018, highlights that the number of annual road traffic deaths has reached 1.35 million. Road traffic injuries are now the leading killer of people aged 5-29 years. The burden is disproportionately borne by pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, in particular those living in developing countries like ours.

The report also indicates that progress to realize Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) Target 3.6 – which calls for a 50% reduction in the number of road traffic deaths and injuries by 2020 – remains far from sufficient.More than half of all road traffic deaths are among vulnerable road users: pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. Pedestrians, cyclists, and riders of motorized 2- and 3-wheelers and their passengers are collectively known as "vulnerable road users" and account for half of all road traffic deaths around the world.

BRIEF HISTORY OF KAURA NAMODA.

Kaura Namoda town, Zamfara state, northern Nigeria , on the Gagere River (a tributary of the Rima). Originally a small settlement of Maguzawas (an animistic Hausa people), it was ruled by the kings of Zamfara, one of the banza bakwai (“the seven illegitimate states” of the Hausa people), whose capital was moved from Birnin Zamfara (43 mi [69 km] north-northwest) to Kiyawa (20 mi east-southeast)c. 1756. After Kiyawa was captured c. 1806 in the Fulani jihād (“holy war”) led by Usman dan Fodio, a Fulani warrior named Namoda was installed as sarkin (“king of”) Zamfara , and many of the Kiyawa peoples, the Zamfarawa, fled to the town later designated Kaura (war lord) Namoda.

The town’s traditional Fulani chief continues to hold the title of sarkin Kiyawa, while the leader of Zurmi, 18 mi northeast, is known as the sarkin Zamfara.

Most of the town’s growth, however, is due to the arrival of the railway from Zaria (132 mi southeast) in 1929; and Kaura Namoda is now a major collecting point for peanuts (groundnuts) and cotton.

Besides these export crops, local trade is primarily in millet, sorghum, cowpeas, rice, sugarcane, and to***co. Goats are the main source of meat and skins; but the local Hausa and Fulani also keep cattle, sheep, donkeys, horses, and camels.

A government dispensary serves the town; and it is the headquarters of a local government council.

Kaura Namoda is the northwestern terminus of the trunk railway from Lagos and Port Harcourt, and it is located on the highway between Gusau and Jibiya (on the main highway between Katsina and Maradi [Niger]). Pop. (2006) local government area, 281,367.

Zamfara State Hajj Commission Re : deployes Part Time Members Again.

The zamfara state hajj commission under the leadership of Honorable Lawal Isah Abdulahi today has reposting state hajj commission part time members again to their various portfolios ahead of 2021, hajj exercise.

The Dan majen Kaura charged the newly part time members to be active and dedicated themselves to their responsibilities office assigned to them.

This was contained in a statement signed by commission public relation officer Mallam Mansur Shafi'i Kaura through his assistant Bello Musa Sidi Magami and made it available to the news men in Gusau the state capital.

According to the statement said, the Dan Majen kaura said their appointments by the present leadership of Governor Bello mutawalle was based on merit as reprentatives of their various local government areas.

He also charged them to liase with old hands among them for the effective running of their duties as his leadership will give them listening ear for the smooth conduct of their responsibilities.

In his remarks the commission secretary Alhaji Anas Shaaibu Mafara explained that, the part time members have a very vital role to play when it come for operations exercise Anas Shaaibu Mafara therefore called on them to get in touch with the commission and registration officers in their respective local government areas for more information and advice concerning the commission activities.In their sepret contributions part time members commended

the Executive chairman state Hajj commission Alhaji Lawal Isah Abdullahi and his secretary Alhaji Anas Shaaibu Mafara for holding the first meeting with them and assured working together for the rapid development of the commission.

The Executive chairman state Hajj commission Alhaji Lawal Isah Abdullahi Dan Majen kaura katukan kuryar madaro has Assigned office responsibilities to the commission's permanent Commissioners.

ZAMFARA POLICE : ARREST OF MUGIRA YUSUF NOT POLITICALLY MOTIVATES

The attention of Zamfara State Police Command has been drawn to news trending on social and other conventional media, regarding the arrest of one Mugira Yusuf by Operatives of the Command on Thursday, 21st October, 2021, where media were giving his arrest different correlation

For the avoidance of doubt and purpose of clarity, the Command wishes to state that, On 17th January, 2020, an official complaint of alleged criminal conspiracy and inciting public disturbance against the said Mugira Yusuf and One Ukashatu Abubakar was received by the Commissioner of Police. In the course of investigation at the State CID, one of the suspect, Ukashatu Abubakar was arrested and charged to court, while Mugira Yusuf fled and had since been avoiding arrest.

On Thursday, 21st October 2021, the second suspect, Mugira Yusuf was arrested at Unguwar Dallatu area, Gusau by Police operatives investigating the case. The suspect was charged to court since on Friday 22nd October, 2021.

In view of the above, members of the public are enjoined to note that, the arrest was not Politically Motivated as being reported by some media. The Police as law enforcement agency will continue to discharge its functions in line with constitutional provisions and other professional ethics.

ENDING CORPORAL PUNISHMENT IN SCHOOLS: ZSUBEB MEET EDUCATION STAKEHOLDERS.

Zamfara State government has called on the United Nations International Children Education Fund (UNICEF) to assist the state in it's bid to coming up with strategies that are aimed at ending corporal punishment in schools under the basic education arrangement.

The executive chairman made the call during an interface with critical stakeholders in education including security agencies in Gusau the state capital on Thursday.

Those summoned for the interface included traditional rulers, members of the state SBMC, and other stakeholders, the meeting was organized by the board together with the UNICEF.

The Chairman urged the stakeholders to support the government initiative in ending measures that are considered threat to the development of education in the state.

He assured that, the present administration is making effort toward coming up with the initiative that would help in reviving education in the state.

UNICEF consultant Ahmad Hashim Tsanu who presented a paper titled “Overview on violence against schools a call to stop corporal punishment in schools” said all stakeholders and indeed the security agencies have a greater role to play in ending corporal punishment in all public schools and when synergy is enhanced, the objective could be achieved.

On his part, Mahe Bello focal person UNICEF representing Zamfara state Ministry of Education presented a paper titled "the effects of corporal punishment on children enrollment, retention transition and completion of basic education which features various strategies aimed at ending corporal punishment in schools.

The newly appointed Commissioner Posted the to ministry of rural development and cooperative Hon Abdullahi Muhammad Gurbin Bore has assumed duty.

The commissioner who received by the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Nasiru Galadima Kaura assured him all necessary support and cooperation in order achieve the ministry forward.

The permanent secretary explained the Commissioner that, the ministry it has 6 department, which included Ruwa tsan, rural water supply, cooperative,commodity among others.

In his response the Commissioner reiterated working hand in hand with all staff and department under the ministry, adding that, the Commissioner alone can't promote the ministry without cooperation of the staffs, apart from that, I solicite your support and cooperation in order to achieve the desired gold.

AFRICAN ENERGY LOGISTICS SUPPORT SERVICES LIMITED COMMENCES DISTRIBUTION OF LOAN TO ZAMFARA PEOPLE.

In an effort to eradicate unemployment and redundancy, and assist people with small medium enterprise in the society, The African energy logistics support services limited in collaboration with central Bank of Nigeria has flagged off distribution of loans of non interest to the zamfara state people.

Speaking during the normal flag off, of the Items, the state vendor Alhaji Muhammad Mijin Yawa Zauma said the Items to be distributed are base on beneficiaries request, according to him they are not going to give money directly to any beneficiary, but they purchased the goods of their business and provided them to the beneficiaries.

The items to be distributed are fertilizer, freezers, foodstuffs, cellular, wrappers shadda, nylon Atamfa and other raw materials, the the beneficiaries across the 14 local government areas in the state.

The state vender also urged the beneficiaries to make good use of the intems given to them, and anybody found diverting the items should be arrested and face the consequence, "This loan is going to be paid in 36 Months, is not for granted. The good things about the loan is interest free.

In their separated speeches the beneficiaries Muhammad Mu'azu Shinkafi and A'isha Kuraje thanks the African energy logistics support services limited for their efforts, for providing the loans to the people with small and medium enterprise in the state, and they assured the general public that they would use what they have received.
