EDO NUJ MEDIA TOUR: Engr Francis Chukwuma, Commends Governor Obaseki on Soft Landing on Project.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Edo state council, media tour continued on Thursday with the inspection of ongoing projects and completed one's in Benin City and its environs.

The on the spot 2nd round to wrap up inspection of Governor Godwin Obaseki's administration projects in Edo south, took the team to many locations in and outside Benin city. The media team comprises of accredited Journalists were led by the Chairman of the Union, Comrade Festus Alenkhe JP.

The newsmen inspected completed kilometres road network, Amagba and Okongbon bridges, Ogheghe completed road project, extension of Stella Obasanjo hospital complex, ongoing multimillion naira Ministry of Agriculture complex hub, Residential Gulf Mews for luxury living at GRA to be purchase when completed by interested Edo people home and in the diaspora.

The on-going construction Shopping Mall, with state of the arts facilities designed to house, a Cinema hall, e-library, Restaurants and others were also inspected.

The number one Journalist in Edo, Festus Alenkhe, and his team also had a brief stop over at the Osiomo Power Plant at Ologbo, where he was briefed by the Asst. GM. Engr. Francis Chukwuma, on the activities of the electricity generating plant.

Engr. Francis Chukwuma, took Newsmen round the facilities, explaining their various function and processes of generating power, distribution and digital monitoring to her consumers.

Chukwuma, confidently told Journalists that, "the plant has all it takes to generate and distribute electricity to the entire Edo state 24/7, stating that, the Edo Ossiomo Power Plant has the capacity of producing 55 megawatts power with modern digital transmitting transformer CCETC"

In a brief response, Comrade Alenkhe, commended the management of the Ossiomo power plant facility and charged them to keep up the good work.

The media team also inspected the on-going construction of the over 10 kilometres Obarentin Forest Reserve road that is near completion.
Residents, including motorists plying the completed roads expressed thanks to Governor Obaseki's administratiom for coming to their rescue, pointing that, the constructed roads has eased their movement of goods and services in the area and boosted their businesses compared to past administration who never listen to their plight.
They appealed to the Governor to construct necessary side drains on the roads to channel flood water to nearby rivers in the locals.

Other place visited were the on-going ultra-modern multi storey building project of the Ministry of Agriculture Complex at the Agric Development Programme (ADP) at Oko-Ogba.

The remodeled, John Odigie Oyegun, Public Service Academy (JOOPSA) designed by the present administration to enhance the capacity performance of public servants was also visited by the team.

The Edo state Chairman of the NUJ, Comrade Festus Alenkhe, at the end of the Edo south inspection, thanked Journalists that participated on the tour and highlighted that, "the media tour was packaged to bring facts and awareness to Edo people and the global community, the unique quality achievements of the Governor Obaseki's administration through a balanced and unbiased reportage in the media regards misinformation"

Alenkhe, said, "the exercise will continue with inspection tour of government projects in Edo North and Central Senatorial district of the state"

Accusing Me Of Sending Soldiers To Disperse Peaceful Protesters Erroneous

The Senator representing Edo Central Senatorial district at the National Assembly, Senator Clifford Odia, has debunked the news trending on social media that he invited soldiers to disperse peaceful protesters who have blocked the Benin-Auchi road on account of its deplorable state.

Speaking to newsmen in a telephone interview, Senator Ordia debunked the allegation trending on social media that he brought Soldiers to disperse peaceful protesters.

The Senator who was surprised at the insinuations described the allegations as unfounded, adding that, " ordinarily, I would not have bothered to join issues with the author of the said malicious and baseless but misleading accusation which is grossly deficient in social and moral capital which only succeeded in exposing the Intellectual paralysis of of its proponents."

"Accusing me of inviting soldiers to disperse a peaceful Protest aimed at attracting the APC government's attention to its responsibility of providing social amenities for my own Constituency that I represent at the national Assembly, is, in itself, a clear manifestation of malicious and futile political attempts to malign and denigrate my Person, because I have made several presentations on my own at the National Assembly for the government to have the said road repaired."

"It is a demonstration of pedestrianism of thought process lacking in merit, objectivity and given that the plot strand provides only a leeway for narrow minded and un distilled speculations devoid of empirically verifiable facts and should therefore be disregarded altogether as cursory, perfunctory and desultory conjectures of an unsound mental processes whose sole aim is targeted at disparaging my elevated moral pedestal built conscientiously and painstakingly over the years on sound moral foundation."

Still speaking, he said on JULY 19th, 2022., I moved a motion on the floor of the house on the same issue for the quick intervention and rehabilitation of the road.

It is therefore, laughable, pitiable and shameful to see the APC try to cover their open sore of poor performance and incompetence in governance by mobilizing some poorly informed youths to protest against Senator Ordia for the failure of the APC administration.

For the records, I have single handedly facilitated the rehabilitation and construction of 25 roads across Esan land, this is well documented in my Score Card.

In my capacity as a Senator, I have done my best and will continue to do more for my people. My role as a Lawmaker, is to draw attention of government to the Senatorial Districts so that my people can be captured in Federal government projects and programs.

He further added," from my interactions and investigation of the matter, it was made clear that the said Soldiers were on transit on the said day and coincidentally ran into the blockage and asked the protesting youths to remove the barricades which they did and the Security personnel promptly drove off and left the scene and headed to wherever they were going"

How come it is Senator Clifford Odia that brought Soldiers from where?, to disperse the protesting youths?

According to the Senator, the Benin- Sapele road of the same federal road was in the same unusable state of disrepair. The youth of the area mobilise and blocked the road for almost two weeks. Law enforcement agencies as usual came to maintain law and order, how come the senator representing the district was not accused of bringing police or soldiers to disperse the peaceful Protest.

This explanation became imperative to dispel the futile political coloration by those seeking to dent my soaring image.

My word of advice therefore is that
people should be aware and cautious of "a dog" that barks at its own people because such dog will not hesitate before biting other innocent strangers".

The Senator therefore advised all to disregard the erroneous and misleading information as it was politically concocted to dent his good image, assuring of his unflinching resolve to continually attract government projects to his constituency.

You have given many lives through employment, the creation of opportunities for youth development, infrastructure and great innovation in the education world!

As we age, I want to call on all well-meaning sons and daughters of Edo to keep supporting the state on all fronts and raise the state to the highest position we naturally belong to.

Let that brotherly love continue. We shall remain unstoppable as a people with a strong will.

Congratulations to us all: - the Benin Kingdom, the Afemai Land and the Esan Land for this celebration.

KWANKWASO VOW TO FIX NIGER-DELTA IF
GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO SERVE NIGERIA POPULACE AS PRESIDENT (Updated)

..Vowed To Fix Niger-Delta as Elder Eyamu, appealed for inclusion of some of his executives to function at the National level of Kwankwaso Campaign organisation.

The Presidential Aspirant of the New Nigeria People Party (NNPP) ENGR. DR. RABI'U MUSA KWANKWASO, has promised to fix the Niger-Delta region, If given the opportunity to serve. Filled with optimism, the former Governor of Kano state, former Minister of Defence and former Chairman of Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC) amongst others, dropped the hint when members of the NIGER-DELTA AWARENESS INITIATIVE FOR KWANKWASO (NDAIK) paid him a solidarity visit at his Abuja residence.

Kwankwaso lamented that, the underdevelopment in the Niger-Delta region would top his project if given the opportunity, noting that, he understood very well the problem of the Niger-Delta good people during his appointment as Chairman of the Niger-Delta Development Commission, when Jonathan was President.

Kwankwaso said without missing words that, Niger-Delta region would wear a brand new look if given all necessary support and voted at all level in the forthcoming Presidential election. He stressed that corruption brought underdevelopment to the Niger-Delta region.

On humanitarian gesture, the presidential hopeful told the group that, over 3.000 persons has so far been awarded scholarship to study in Nigeria Universities and in the diaspora, many he said, are today captain of industries and employers of labour, highlighting that, he personally supervised the departure of 370 students in his FOUNDATION list recently, irrespective of tribe and religious background to study in India, Dubai, Sudan, UK amongst others, pointing that the Niger-Delta people should get ready for human capital development and infrastructural advancement in the region if given the opportunity.

Earlier, the leader of the NIGER-DELTA AWARENESS INITIATIVE FOR KWANKWASO 2023, Elder Pius Eyamu, in his speech told the
Presidential hopeful aspirant, ENGR. DR. RABI'U MUSA KWANKWASO, that the Indigenes in the Niger-Delta region decided to pay him the unscheduled visit to surprise him and to identify with him on his presidential ambition of becoming the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, he said the body spreading across the Niger-Delta region are ready to work and give him all necessary support in mobilising at the grassroot level towards his victory at the forthcoming PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION race come 2023.

Elder Eyamu told Engr. Kwankwaso that, the initiative group has since been in existence since 10th June 2014, and in the past has successfully mobilize and canvassed for votes for various political office holders leading to their victories in and outside the Niger-Delta region.

Edo NUJ (Federated Chapel) Gets New Executives

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, have conducted Elections of candidates into various positions of her Federated chapel in Benin, Edo state capital.

Treasurer of the Council, Comrade Solomon
Obozunya, conducted the process, and was supervised by the state Secretary of Edo Nuj, Comrade Andy Egbon, in a free and fair election, with 18 accredited members on the voting list.

Comrade Mercy Onyenwenli emerged the Chairman with 17 votes to defeat Timothy Omobude who pulled out of the contest in less than 24 hours.

Other elected executives returned unopposed included: Ighomuaye Lucky (Secretary), Anita Erhenhi (Treasurer), and Justy Oteri (Financial Secretary).

At the oat of office ceremony, the State Chairman of Edo NUJ, Comrade Festus Alenkhe JP. noted that the election was the most peaceful ever held since his assumption of office.
He pointed that the withdrawal of the other chairmanship candidate thay purchased election form, cleared for the election, and name published, wouldn't have undermined the election.
Alenkhe, urged all members of the chapel to embrace peace, love and unity at all time.

Comrade Festus Alenkhe, commended the caretaker committee chairman, Dr. Isaac Eranga, for following due process on credible electoral objectives. He noted that "the electoral process was really constitutional and ethical in all aspect.

Responding, the newly elected and sworn in Chairman of the Federated chapel, Comrade Mercy Onyenwenli said that, her executive members are fully ready to align on the developmental strides of Comrade Festus Alenkhe JP, whom has inputed digital and physical development to the entire Union.
