The lawyers who sued Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi and his running mate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed to court in an attempt to stop their presidential rally in Lagos in October were unsuccessful.

Ten lawyers who have hauled Peter Obi and his running mate before the court have demanded an order to halt the " Forward Ever Rally" set for October 1st, 2022. Since then, many people, mainly Peter Obi fans, have been waiting for the court's ruling.

Several questions were raised in the suit for the court to consider in giving the order sought if it was considered in the positive.

One of the questions raised was whether, based on the intent of Section 40 of the 1999 Constitution and what occurred during the EndSARS protest in October 2020, which resulted in the destruction of lives and property, the defendants can hide under the guise of the Right to peaceful assembly to endorse the EndSARS Anniversary rally, dubbed the " Forward Ever Rally" and scheduled to take place on October 1st.

The plaintiffs stated that the event is being held to commemorate the EndSARS protest anniversary, and they requested that the rally be halted in the interest of order and public safety.

However, the plaintiffs' efforts to obtain an ex parte injunction on the case were unsuccessful.

According to a report published by Sahara Reporters on Friday, the judge who ruled over the case, Justice Osiagor, stated that there was no proof linking the Obidatti rally to the EndSARS protest.

The case was rescheduled for September 23rd for further hearings, and maybe the court will deliver its final decision on the matter then.

Candidates for political parties have begun to reveal their manifestos and persuade voters why they should vote for them in the 2023 general election.

In light of this, Kenneth Gbagi of the Social Democratic Party, noted during an interview with Arise TV that the situation in Nigeria and how things are not working prompted him to contest for the governorship position in Delta state. He stated that what is lacking in Delta State governance is dishonesty, and people always have the belief that those in power are not honest enough to discharge their duties.

He stated that as an individual he had assisted a lot of people and moved many from poverty in Delta State and that if voted into power, he would be willing to pay N30k monthly to all the youths in the state.

BBN Season 7 Housemate, Sheggz, has explained the major reason why his ex-girlfriend broke up with him some months ago. Sheggz made this known during a conversation with fellow Housemate, Bella, in the kitchen on Sunday night.

Sheggz pointed out that he wasn't dumped by his girlfriend due to infidelity. According to him, the relationship hit the rocks because he failed to control the number of girls he flirts with.

Sheggz stated, "I dated my ex-girlfriend for three years and didn't cheat on her. Though, to be honest I was talking with other girls".

Sheggz' statement didn't sound convincing to Bella who was quick to ask further questions. Bella asked, "So, why would she decide to end a three-year relationship just like that. Something must have happened. What actually happened?"

The 7th season of one of the most popular reality TV shows in Africa, Big Brother Naija began yesterday, the 23 of July, 2022 and it was themed Level Up. The organisers if the show unveiled 12 housemates are in the Big Brother Naija's house. Their names are; Khalid, Amaka, Beauty, Christyo, Bryann, Phyna, Pharmsavi, Daniella, Kess, Groovy, Ilebaye, and Cyph. More housemates are yet to be introduced into the show.

A twitter user, Eniola Akinkuotu, who works with the Punch Newspaper as an editor, released a statement via his twitter handle, where he revealed that if ex governor James Ibori, the former Governor of Delta state, should re-run for governor again, he would win despite being convicted for stealing over $250 Million dollars.

Recently Nollywood actor, Kenneth Aguba, has became viral online as reports had it that he was homeless.

Following this, the Founder of the Omega Power Ministries, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere intervened and blessed the actor with free accommodation including welfare packages such as feeding.

In addition to this, the Clergyman also promised to marry a bride for the actor and cater for all marriage expenses.

Recently, precisely on Saturday, a video posted on the Omega Power Ministries YouTube channel showed the actor, Kenneth Aguba alongside the OPM team returning from the OPM Free Specialist Hospital in Port Harcourt, where the actor was receiving medical attention. From the video, it was clear that they were on their way to the apartment provided for the actor.

However, during that period, Kenneth Aguba was asked several questions concerning his movie career by the OPM team.

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) has carried out a secret memo to residents living in Abuja over ISWAP terrorists regrouping to launch an attack on Christians in the state

In a letter released Commandant of the NSCDC, Peter Maigari, noted that the Kuje jailbreak was engineered to enable the released terrorists to strategize and carry their terrorist activities further and keep the agenda of the group alive to the public

It is no longer news that Kuje Medium Prison in Abuja came under severe attack by some terrorists suspected to be members of Islamic West Africa Province (ISWAP).

The Terrorists were reported to have stormed the Prison premises around 10:25 pm and started shooting indiscriminately. As if that was not enough, they are also said to have used explosive devices to bomb some part of the Prison building before gaining access to free the inmates.

According to The Nation Newspaper, several inmates including leaders of Boko Haram insurgents were among the inmates that escaped during the attack.

Mr. Joseph Akeredolu, one of the residents who witnessed the unfortunate incident told The Nation Newspaper that the terrorist dared anybody to challenge them while carrying out the attack.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo is the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization and according to the Igbo apex group, the former governor of Kano State Engr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso is not a presidential candidate. Mr. Alex Ogbonnia who is the National Publicity Secretary of Ohanaeze Ndigbo stated this in his response to a remark made by New Nigeria Peoples Party's presidential candidate, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso.

It will be recalled that Kwankwaso previously stated that the Southeast region is not politically mature to produce the next President in 2023. Kwankwaso had stated that Peter Obi who is the presidential candidate of the Labour Party would have to be his running mate and not otherwise.

Mr. Alex Ogbonnia condemned Kwankwaso's statement and noted that the presidential candidate of NNPP cannot assess the Igbos. In Ogbonnia's opinion, anyone who has done well in business and has lived in other parts of the country can rule the country, Nigeria.

As stated by the National Publicity Secretary of the Igbo apex group, an Igbo president would do better because they understand the country.

In Alex's words:

"Nigeria should not doubt the Igbo nation's ability to govern Nigeria if, given the chance, Kwankwaso's description is unfortunate, he is unfamiliar with Igbo and is unable to assess its people. A presidential candidate will not make such a remark."

"As far as I am concerned, Igbo have been the pillar that has helped this country survive this far, he should understand that anyone who can succeed in business and live in any part of the can be president."

Alex further submitted that when it comes to presidential issues, it can not be said that Rabiu Kwankwaso is the best material the country could have. "But for our parochial nature and the type of politics we play in Nigeria, I don't believe our competence should ever be called into question," Alex added.

Minister of state for labour and employment, Mr Festus Keyamo took to social media just a few minutes ago to react to a statement on twitter which was credited to him.

Festus Keyamo was earlier quoted by a twitter user saying that Peter Obi who is the presidential candidate of labour party, can't win a local government position on Lagos state. President Muhammadu Buhari has made a decision on who he would support in the Nigerian presidential race in 2023.

President Buhari said in a recent interview with Bloomberg News that he will back the candidate of the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

It is important to keep in mind that Tinubu emerged as the presidential candidate for the APC after winning the primary election for the party that was held on the 8th of June, 2022.

The national chairman of the APC garnered 1,271 votes, defeating 13 other candidates for the position, including Rotimi Ameachi, a former minister of transportation, and Yemi Osinbajo, vice president of the country, who received 316 and 235 votes, respectively.

After Tinubu's victory, he will compete against Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, and other candidates from other parties for the chance to succeed President Buhari in 2023.

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), has nominated seven people for both confirmation and screening by the Senate for a possible appointment as new Ministers in his cabinet.

The President's letter of request was read on the floor of the Senate by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan. According to the details of the letter read by the Senate President, and in accordance with Section 8 Subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, President Buhari stated that the nominees would serve as a replacement for the ministers who have left his cabinet.

The former general secretary of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG, in the person of Chief Frank Kokori, has claimed that it is the presidential flag bearer of the All Progressive Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, might be the only living politician who could be capable of breaking up the grip which some evil cabals have on the country.

Findings from the Punch Newspapers on Sunday, 12th of June, 2022, revealed that Kokori who is an APC elder in Delta state, made this known while speaking with some correspondents in his residence in Ovu, Ethiope East.

While speaking in his residence, Chief Kokori commended the hard work of the ex governor of Lagos State for being able to emerge victorious at the presidential primaries, as well as being the representative of the party in the forthcoming elections stating that he is of the opinion that there is no better candidate to pick up the mantle from the incubent president who could take on the Cabal and finally rescue the country.

Speaking further, and in a bid to ease the tension of the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket that has been causing some unrest in the party, the renowned labour activist warned Bola Tinubu not to succumb to any pressure be mounted on him to pick a Muslim as his running mate.

He buttressed his point by making it known that such a decision could be regarded as insensitive and detrimental to the peace and unity of the Nation. Chief Kokori opined that Tinubu should try as much as possible to select a Northern Christian and support such candidate come 2023.
