Dear Yoruba Woman/Man,
Yoruba Culture & Language will not become a thing of the past; Our Amen alone is not enough, the answer to that prayer is our collective efforts
Yoruba Culture and language is something you should be proud of as a Yoruba woman/man because its your symbol of identity.
Before the advent of western education, we Yorubas have always been educated about our own culture and ways of life.
Gone were the days when parents educate kids about Yoruba language and culture.
It's good to get our children educated, but we should not throw away our language and culture in the process...
Remember:
Omo to so ile nu: o so apo iya ko:
The child who loses the home will suffer for it..
Don't let us wait until we begin to pay people from overseas to teach our children how to speak yoruba
lets educate our children about Yoruba language and culture for a greater future that we can all be proud of
Lets ask our children, how many of them knows the days of the week correctly in Yoruba.
This would give us an idea of where we are and what we need to do to ensure our Yoruba language does not become a thing of the past
These are the days of the week in Yoruba Language;
Sunday is called Ojo aiku in Yoruba
Monday is called Ojo aje in Yoruba
Tuesday is called Ojo isegun in Yoruba
Wednesday is called Ojoru in Yoruba
Thursday is called Ojobo in Yoruba
Friday is called Ojo eti in Yoruba
Saturday is called Ojo abameta in Yoruba
