We had a vision to start a residency programme which would connect talent across Africa with our studio making Vortex Studios a bridge that makes the world smaller championing African storytelling through the voice of creators and talent across the globe.

From our first Alumni and first time comic creator Kevin Ameyo (Kenya) alongside his brilliant team ( , , , ) of Nigerian talent who had a sold out comic con have been nominated for 3 Glyph awards - Glyph is a the highest honour for comics of colour held annually in Philadelphia, Pennysylvania (USA).

We believe in the future of African storytelling. I believe in spirit fiction thank you for the recognition and honour.

Amidst grieving his mother's loss, Thuolo learns about his future and the menacing figure of Dr. Kusema, a threat to both his destiny and the fabric of time itself. Guided by a cryptic spirit, he forms an alliance with his future wife and brother-in-law to thwart this impending catastrophe.

However, a chance to reunite with his departed mother emerges, presenting Thuolo with a heart- wrenching dilemma: Pursue the battle against Dr. Kusema and safeguard the future, or embrace a final, poignant reunion with his beloved mother, risking the unraveling of everything he's fighting to protect.

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of collaborating with the University of Benin 🇳🇬 in a Digital Art residency programme where a select number of art students where hosted at the VX studio for 60 days creating! We merged this awesome program with our VX Creator series grant project and made some magic together 🪄✨
