It is always said that evil will always triumph because good men have refused to do nothing. The issue of poor menstrual health hygiene, career prospects, cultism and drugs abused have been some of the predominant issues plaguing our secondary schools

For girls in the local schools who know nothing about menstrual health hygiene nor can afford sanitary pads, menstrual health education becomes a huge relief to alleviating their ignorance.

Some students are found confused on subjects to choose in their WACE/NECO and JAMB examinations. Thus many of them often choose the wrong subjects which give them serious challenging issues at the higher institution level.

The predominant use of drugs by secondary school students is saddening, as you see students right from their junior secondary venturing into drugs and drugs us.

These and many more are some of the issues that the Health/Awareness Campaign, organised by the Vice President of National Association of Ika Students Worldwide, seeks to address.

We therefore call on stakeholders, well meaning individuals who would love to sponsor, partner and support to come in.

You can support us with a carton of sanitary pad, exercise books, pen and even financial support. The society is ours to build and we start at our homes.

EXCERPT OF THE IKA STUDENTS SYMPOSIUM ORGANIZED BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF IKA STUDENTS NAIS WORLDWIDE HELD ON THE 18TH SEPTEMBER, 2021

Education is also acquiring skills, being innovative and otherwise, the students of Ika were thought how to bake cake as part of the symposium which the exercise was anchored by a serving and students' friendly corper, also lectures on safety program.

Education comprises of teaching and learning process to which an individual is subjected to, being also a different way of solving a problem faced by an individual or Student. (Mr. Leo Leo Umanah) also emphasising that unemployment could limit the interest of acquiring knowledge or laying educational background, seeing the rate of unemployment in the society today. To beseech and charge the students even an individual that to every discussion should be translated to naira and Kobo and every relationship must create and have a valuable impact in life.

Education cannot be acquired through traps and bush hunting, but with the use of writing materials and being committed, focus and be ready to convert knowledge into power.
With the love of education, the council chairman Engr. Malachy Malachy Ukpeh ably represented by Hon Peter Ikono, an immediate past Present of the said Association donated a writing materials (exercise books) to the students referencing the official flag off of the education campaign.

Confidence amongst Students needs a rebuild for academic excellence is what should interest you as a student, excellence academic performance of students is what matters, academic is not alienabilty to score high marks but must be devoted to study randomly to meet with required stage (low learner's). Ika is an optimum practice of academic.
Students right is to choose and elect one who can afford the ability of leadership and integrity possessing. Any political offices or position in various institutions serving as a distraction to any students, diverting their mindset from studying, there must be an abstaining, fight for a bigger one tomorrow. Waiting for one is a downfall to you and many, the situation of Ika compared to other local government in Aks is not something to write home. If there's no transformation in any place one could find his/herself, the gathering signifies nothing, study for improvement not backwardness especially in your very own self. RE: Swift Response to Students Plight By Ika Council Boss, Engr. Malachy Ukpeh

We are glad to announce today, that, Ika indigenes can now register for their National Identification Number(NIN) at the council secretariat, and without paying a dime. We can recall in the recent past, such a gesture was not there.

As it affected the secondary school students and other persons that wanted to register for UTME, the leadership of Ika students ably led by Comrade Ukeme Udofa took it upon themselves in reaching out to authorities to see a way of bringing a NIN registration point to Ika to enable every affected person register.

On this, we commend our Grand Patron, Ika Local Government Chairman Engr. Malachy Ukpeh and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Science and Technology, Akwa Ibom State, Dr.(Mrs.) Grace Jim for their swift response to our call.

We can recall that, upon our swearing-in to office to lead Ika students, we pledged to always be pragmatic in matters affecting the students' community.

Today, we took an assessment visit to the registration point at the council secretariat, Urua Inyang, which we can boldly say that it's going successfully.

We, therefore, call on all to take an advantage of this opportunity to register for their NIN at the council secretariat, Urua Inyang.

THE NAIS WORLDWIDE EXECUTIVE VISITED AKWAPOLY CHAPTER FOR NAIS WORLDWIDE TOUR

Be proud of your self and what you can do most to promote your well-being, education can only be expensive to whom that shows apathy to it, make education a working tools not only one aspect but in different perspective.

To promote greatness, progress, unity, peace and sustainable development, transformation and leadership, the administration of NAIS WORLDWIDE led my Comr. Ukeme Udofa went on a chapter tour to fulfill the promises which he made during his campaign / manifesto.

Seeing the interest of students in the chapter, the President applauded the leadership of Comr. Ruth Ibanga led administration, commending the government as one of most successful government and betterly led by a female and also in turnup of the students for Congress.

On his speech, he assured the Congress men and women to anticipate a good thing which will come soon, charging them to also have a foresight on education and entrepreneurship. Since the president government centers on entrepreneurship development and we all should dance to the same tune.

The visitation to Akwapoly Chapter by NAIS WORLDWIDE also was for the good Students of Ika to heartily endorse the soon to come program tagged "Ika Students Symposium" which impact so much on students lives as far as education is concern.

The executives of the chapter endorsed the upcoming program alongside with the congress men and women, showing enthusiasm of participation and acceptance of the program by the chapter.

The Secretary General of the Association also appreciate the time craved by the students to always garther, irrespective of different parents, reminding them about the ongoing SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM ANCHORED BY THE IKA BUILDERS FORUM, given them reasons why they should participate in the examination.

Oh! What a coincidence

When time is fix good things to be done, the difference is always very clear.

As the tour was successfully going, the Obot Akara worldwide executives met with the executives NAIS WORLDWIDE on the same hashtag "campus tour" which was a very big coincidence to the leaders meeting with the leaders, the NAIS WORLDWIDE endorse the tour program and the Obot Akara worldwide reciprocate.

Pleasantries were exchanged and thanked each other for taking the bold steps and taking such a tremendous decision upon the betterment of students.

Comr. Ubong Stephen Isonguyo being a one time worldwide President thanked the leadership of the students worldwide which brings forth legacies, charging the Association to do more to maintain peace, unity progress of the said union.

ANIEKAN'S BEST ACCOMPLISHMENT THROUGH DETERMINATION AND A RACE RUN WITH GOD

NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF IKA STUDENTS WORLDWIDE (NAIS)

“The heights by great men reached and kept were not attained by sudden flight, but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”

When the news of the release of the final bar examination results of the Nigerian Law School hit the media and public space yesterday, a total of 1,325 candidates was said to have failed and only twenty students bagged first class. What we didn’t know however was that one of our own, a gladiator in wits and academic strength, our own Miss Aniekan Udo-Okon was amongst the 20 high flyers and the only one in that class from the University of Uyo.

When our children perform poorly in school, we scold and encourage them to do better next time and when they excel, it is only necessary we sing their praise and tell it to the world. This is thus the place of this Piece.

The academic strides of Miss Aniekan Udo-Okon who hails from Ikot Akpan Offiong in Ika LGA didn’t just advent at the law school, she had from cradle shown she has a giant’s blood in her veins. Records at the University of Uyo shows that she emerged as the best graduating student, Faculty of Law, University of Uyo (2019 set) as well as the four-time recipient of the LAWSAN Award for Academic Excellence (2016-2019).

During her undergraduate days, she served in several leadership positions including the office of the President of Litigation hub under which she partnered with the Kings Bench Club in the organization of the 2018 Kings Bench/Lord (Barr) Onofiok Luke Inter Chamber Moot Court Competition. Also, working with the Editorial team as the Editor-in-Chief, Ime Umanah Chambers, she spearheaded the publication of the Ime Umanah Chambers Maiden Online Law Journal.

Aniekan Udo-Okon has featured on national and international moot platforms earning awards from the Nigerian Society of International Law, International Committee of the Red Cross, among others. She has also contributed to several publications centred on human rights, citizen diplomacy and arbitration.

For a young person in her early 20s, she has already taken interest in copywriting and self-awareness programs as tools to contributing her quota to the growth of our society. This is rare; this is the spirit that births impact for a life time. Aniekan is truly an amazon amongst us.

To the younger generation, she has this to say ““The heights reached and kept by noble men (women) were not attained by a sudden flight, but they while their companions slept, were toiling upward in the night.”.

There’s so much space at the top for ye who dares to assail up. Your place of birth, circumstances of birth or environment is not strong enough to limit you if you have an iron-clad determination to excel. This we have seen in Miss Aniekan and we are elated to celebrate her a world over.

SEE YOURSELVES AS KEY DRIVERS OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT- AKON OKON URGES LG CHAIRMEN

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Economic Development and Ibom Deep Seaport, Mr Akan Okon, has urged Local Government Chairmen in the state to see themselves as key players in the economy recovery and development in the state.

The Commissioner stated this on Tuesday, at the One Day Capacity and Partnership Building Workshop for Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and other key stakeholders on the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (NG-CARES) Program held in Uyo, the state capital.

He said the NG-CARES was designed to ameliorate the negative impacts of COVID-19 on Nigerians which include dwindling incomes and livelihood of individuals, families and businesses.

He therefore urged local government administrators to have themselves sensitised in order to build enviable partnership that will be of positive impacts to their people.

Mr Okon also revealed that the NG-CARES program will increase cash transfers, food security and livelihood support to the poor while preventing collapse of household/micro enterprises.

He lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for working hard to ensure that Akwa Ibom State is one of the first state to Kickstart the
NG-CARES program in Nigeria.

Earlier in his presentation, the General Manager of Akwa Ibom State Agency for Community and Social Development, Ishmael Akpan had stated that the event was aimed at ensuring that local government administrators understand the state government's contributions under the Community and Social Development Program (CSDP).

He stressed the need for Local Government Chairmen to integrate CSDP into the local government development plan.

Chairman of Association of Local Government of Nigeria (ALGON), Hon. Iniobong Robson said all Council Chairmen will cooperate for the success of the NG-CARES program in the state.

The event was attended by 31 Local Government Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and Council Secretaries across the state.
