The wife of the Chairman of Nsukka Local Government, Mrs. Stephanie Asogwa, welcomed the wives of local government chairmen in Enugu North senatorial zone and students from schools in these areas to the International Day of Education 2025 event hosted at Adada hall in Nsukka local government headquarters. This event, organized in collaboration with chairpersons in Nsukka zone, was part of the First Lady of Enugu State, Her Excellency Mrs. Nkechinyere Mba's initiatives to promote awareness about the importance of child education.
In her welcome address, Mrs. Stephanie Asogwa underscored the significance of education in societal development, highlighting the role and benefits of the smart green schools being constructed by the Enugu State Government. She also emphasized the importance of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching and learning.
The chairman of Nsukka local government area, Engr Jude Asogwa Chinedu . reiterated the importance of education in societal growth, reaffirming his administration's commitment to prioritizing education. "Education is the only thing that brings the child of the rich and the poor together in one classroom," he said. "By embracing innovative teaching methods and technologies, we can empower our students to succeed and become winners, which they are."
The chairperson of Igboeze South Local Government Area, Barr. Empress Ugo Ferdinand, represented the First Lady of Enugu State and delivered a keynote address. Other distinguished speakers from the office of the First Lady and Custos Care Foundation presented insightful discussions on the fundamental rights of every child, the importance of education, and the strategic integration of AI in education.
The event featured an engaging question-and-answer session, thought-provoking debates, and impressive exhibitions of scientific projects and talents. Students from Nsukka Local Government area were recognized and rewarded with prizes for their outstanding achievements on these activities performed.
