CROSSING THE BRIDGE

Victoria Smith, a product of an out-of-wedlock relationship. Her conception came at the time her supposed parents were not prepared to have a child; they were in their adolescence and far from ready for marriage.

Victoria was then tagged with the name; 'Illegitimate Child'. For years, she was obsessed with the mentality that having self-esteem and becoming successful was exceptionally for some particular set of people, perhaps, the legitimate children.

The simple idea behind the legendary of some great heroes was their INTENTIONALITY. They were INTENTIONAL about their LIVES and how they LIVE. They don't depend their lives on CHANCES, rather, they painstakingly CREATED their own WORLD irrespective of the circumstances surrounding them, and the WORLD (we) knew them for it.
(I would have start listing names but let's save that for the time we'll be reviewing them one after the other).

HEY, YOU CAN'T REPLACE THEM!

Irrespective of all odds, your parents are still jewels of inestimable values. They might seem to be the pains in your bones but believe me, they still hold the tonic you need!

Love and show them care, a single prayer of "God bless you" from them goes a mile than rapid prayers of anyone else. Do unto them what you expect your children to do unto you!

Have they hurt you so much? Forgive them so it may be well with you. Have you hurt them so much? Plead for their forgiveness and let them pray for you!

You can't appreciate them until they are gone!

WATCH OUT FOR YOUR CHILDREN

Making out time for your wards isn't a bad idea unlike some parents' mentality. It wouldn't make them become disrespectful to you rather, it's an avenue for you to create a very good Parental - Children Relationship. Buying gift items and providing your children a luxurious life isn't enough without making out time for them, there are lots of things you will get to learn and correct about them in the cause.

Yes, children love gifts and luxurious life but they are wired in a way to easily trust and believe anyone that gives them attention and whatever first information they get from them (even if it is wrong). If you let the tutelage of your children to a third-party or stranger, correcting them later might be difficult.

Have you ever seen a child seriously arguing with his parents to prove that the information gotten from his school teacher was right against theirs? Even though the latter information from the parents might be the right but the fact that the information first got to the child through the school teacher, he'd rebel against his parents.

Have you also wondered why children get familiar with their mothers than fathers, even though the father was making them provision? It's the degree of physical attention given to them by the mother.

Make time to get familiar with your children and teach them what you don't want them to learn from a third-party.

Be at Your Best for your Children

Even though you haven't been able to close the bathroom door and have a minute to yourself for who knows how long, parenthood has its rewards. Like those tender moments when your kids falling asleep in your arms or make you laugh when they show you their new dance moves. 🕺🕺💃💃

While there are no awards for being the best parent, you are building something strong in them and they would always remember you for each of those moments when they grow up and reflects.

Be at your best for your children, that's part of their primary means of developing self confidence, good self-esteem and a perfect Psychosocial and Emotional Healthiness. Make them proud of you anytime and anywhere. Ironically, from my findings, not all children are proud of their parents, not even among the now parents.

Meanwhile, I have not said you should not scold them as at when necessary but let them know you are doing it in love
