Hygiene is a series of practices performed to preserve health. According to World Health Organization (WHO), 'Hygiene refers to conditions and practices that help to maintain health and prevent the spread of diseases." Personal hygiene refers to maintaining the body's cleanliness.

Many people equate hygiene with 'cleanliness' but hygiene is a broad term. It includes such personal habit choices as how frequently to take a shower or bath, wash hands, trim fingernails, and wash clothes. It also includes attention to keeping surfaces in the home and workplace, including bathroom facilities clean and pathogen-free.

Some regular hygiene practices may be considered good habits by the society, while the neglect of hygiene can be considered disgusting, disrespectful, or threatening. Via wikipedia.

The World health Organization estimates that worldwide, annual influenza epidemics result in about 3-5million cases of sever illness and about 250,000 to 500,000 deaths.

No doubt, life has been altered. There's no telling when circumstances will return back to normal.

We hail all workers in essential industries who go about their jobs just so we can retain normalcy amid this pandemic.

To each man there comes in their lifetime a special moment when they are figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a very special thing, unique to them and fitted to their talents. What a tragedy if that moment finds YOU unprepared or unqualified for that which could have been your finest hour.

Procrastination is the thief of time: Year after year it steals, till all are fled, and to the mercies of a moment leaves the vast concerns of an eternal scene.” “To think too long about doing a thing often becomes its undoing.” “Motivation is what gets you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”

UNDERSTAND THE MOMENTS THAT MATTER AND WIN THEM.

We all have moments of doubts – those are human and natural. They have asked you to lead a session in the company workshop, suddenly doubts set in. “I am not sure I am ready; maybe next year”. Unfortunately, no one was born a CEO, and every CEO or ED had a yesterday where he/she was none.

I give talks to bank CEOs, hedge funds, VCs, UN, etc. But I can never forget my first presentation before a legend. I had been flown to a really nice place in Washington state, United States. I was going to speak before the then richest man in the world, and a peerless philanthropist. Bill Gates is a legend.

To be asked to be in his presence was an honour. And to be asked to speak before some of the smartest human beings on earth was even amazing. But there was a burden: if a man makes an average of $1.5 million per hour, you cannot waste his time.

I developed a strategy; if they stop me before 5%, the Ovim Abia village boy has not grown. If before 25%, the Lagos guy needs help. But if I finish, it’s globally advancing.

I finished. Then, Bill came, “great presentation.” In days, his team followed – and I became convinced it was indeed “great”.

How do you prepare for big moments in your career? Do not waste precious opportunities where leaders can see you audition live. Understand the moments that matter and win them, in 2020

'Mastering Your Absence'

Success comes by accumulating capabilities and compounding their impacts. As you relate with people, supervisors and subordinates, build trust and demonstrate competence. Until people can recommend you in your absence and even without your knowledge, you will not advance. The greatest among us are those that have won their Absence!

Stephen Sang

Stephen Sang had made history in 2013 as the youngest elected senator in Kenya at age 28. He is a firm believer and a champion of transitional justice, a leader who is passionate about addressing historical injustices.

Sang has used his position to actively campaign against drug trafficking in opposition to how silent most politicians are about the menace. His legislative record speaks for itself having sponsored a record six bills during a single parliamentary term.

At 32, he was elected as Kenya’s youngest governor on 8th August, 2017

Stephen Sang is sure a force in Kenya to reckon with.

Folorunso Alakija

We are excited to celebrate with Folorunsho Alakija as she becomes the richest black woman in the world. -(www.forbesafrica.com).

- Folorunsho Alakija started her career in 1974 as an executive secretary at Sijuade Enterprises, Lagos, Nigeria. She moved on to the former First National Bank of Chicago, now acquired by FCMB (First City Monument Bank) where she worked for some years before establishing a tailoring company called Supreme Stitches, which she used in promoting the Nigerian culture through fashion and style.

In May 1993, Folorunsho applied for the allocation of an oil prospecting license (OPL). The license to explore for oil on a 617,000-acre block, (now referred to as OPL 216) and was granted to Alakija’s company, Famfa Limited…
Although Alakija battled with the Nigerian Government in court for 12 years over issues concerning the oil business, her biggest break came from winning.

On 9 March 2016, Nigeria had its first female chancellor as she became the chancellor of Osun State University..

Alakija is a passionate supporter of Education in Nigeria, supporting orphans with scholarship grants as well as widows with business grants. The 68 year old is proudly sitting on a net worth of over a billion dollars.
