Around 2:00 a.m. Operatives of Rapid Response Squad ( l) on patrol of Otedola Bridge arrested Gbolahan Olarewaju (20) for removing seven AKT Light illuminating the Under bridge.

Many of the AKT Light with 24 watt fitting bulbs were removed weeks ago.

They were replaced few days later to re-illuminate the Under Bridge.

Olanrewaju confessed that he removed the first fittings and also vandalized some of the facilities.
He added that he handed over the items to his friend to assist him in selling them.

He has been charged to court.

Is it a Good Idea to Teach Kids to Code?

To begin with, coding for kids is, without a doubt, a fantastic idea because it provides children with a fundamental skill in this ever-changing world.

Coding is a broad field of study with numerous programming languages, the majority of which are either block-based or text-based.

And the fact that it is vast and complex is what makes many people wonder whether they should enroll their child in a coding class or not.

They are not as open to sending their children to coding lessons as they are to sending them to dance, art, or piano lessons.

This is because they do not want to stress their children with computer programming, where numbers appear to be the most important factor.

But everyone needs to understand that everything has a number, including the piano, art, and dance, which can be as complex and vast as coding but do not prevent a child from learning the skills.

It’s because children are at an age when they can understand anything they want.

They are absorbing information and making sense of things and the world around them at this age.

This means that any child can learn to code in the same way that they can learn to dance, sing, sprint, paint, and so on; all they need is the right guidance and training.

Though the movement to engage children in computer programming has been around for more than a decade, it has only recently gained traction.

Whatever programming language you use, there are some fundamental coding concepts that all coding beginners and enthusiasts should understand.

Someone interested in coding or learning to code will benefit greatly from knowing a little bit about these basic concepts beforehand.

In 2011,

I needed 70k to pay for my school fees.

I had just entered 200L.

I can't remember what I did to the person that paid my 1st year school fees but he said he wasn't going to pay for my school fees again 😭

I was shattered and helpless.

I had already lost my biological father 7 years ago and had a struggling mother that could not afford my school fees.

I went to meet another uncle, a millionaire and a US returnee.

I had lived with his wife many years before then... I don't even want to talk about the kind of abuse I was subjected to as a child in her hands.

But that is not the essence of this post. I have let bygone be bygone.(as if I get choice 😄)

So, I carried my two legs(not left legs sha 😄) and went to meet my uncle, of course the wife was there.

Well, I went to meet my uncle oo.

I was confident that I would smile home 😄 in my mind, I was like, this is my father's flesh and blood and he will not forsake me.

He is my father's immediate elder brother born of the same mother and father.

I got to the wife's shop or will I say company .. which they both go to everyday and explained why I came.

After telling my uncle that I needed his help for my school fees, he said a whole lot of things that I don't even want to talk about here but at the end, he gave me 35k and said that's all he could afford.

I was so disappointed and cried😭 (I'm a cry baby)

I thanked him nonetheless and left.

That was the last time I saw him.

Well, how did I later sort myself out?

God came through for me.

The person, who's also an uncle that paid the first year fees later paid for the 2nd year and 3rd year without so much stress.

I was able to pay for my final year too. I got that money from a total stranger and a distant family member.

So the 35k became an extra money I used to flex in school 😄

That's the end of my story.

I just felt like sharing oo 😄..so maybe you can pick your lessons accordingly.

Let me add: Throughout my university days, I never lacked.

God always always come through for me.

A total stranger paid for my accommodation throughout.

Church supported me too, RCCG.

That same year 2011, I joined Facebook, I got a brand new laptop from a friend (an American) as a birthday gift and some dollars later.

As a computer science student, it helped me throughout my school days.

I became a big girl sef 😄

You'll hardly know that I didn't have a biological father anymore or about my family's struggles cause I was really really comfortable and I no dey do pass myself 😜

I don't help them wear any trendy wears or use any phone that's in Vogue.

There was a craze about blackberry then, it never bothered me... I never used blackberry phone till date.

So I was living a real modest lifestyle and never coveted anything that I couldn't afford.

I hope we all can live according to our means, it will keep all kinds of pressure away.
