Eheeen! A thousand and hundred plus people have listened to our podcast!!! Woohooo!!! It’s one thing for you to be inspired to start up a thing, it’s another thing for you to show up, it’s a different ball game for people to listen and an entirely different ball game for people to listen.... It’s a small win but a huge feat for me!!! I’m grateful to God ooh cos seemingly little things like these remind me that I’m on the right path. So for those who have always listened, supported and encouraged me- thank you!!!
For those yet to listen or do not even know what a podcast is, it’s time to do better.

Hi,
This is a short story I should turn into a podcast or into a newsletter, however I’m sharing it here so that I do not forget it.
-
No newsletter because I don’t want to start something and not be committed to it; everyone close to me will think it’s one of the many tabs I’ve begun without shutting down.
-
No podcast because when I wanted to record, all my devices went flat and now, there’s no time; if I delay one more time, I’d procrastinate till I forget.
-
Instagram caption because this won’t take time and it’s serving as two functions: content and reminder.

Actually it’s not a story but just something I’ve been brooding on.
I’ve been more conscious of telling myself that people are not perfect, very conscious, and letting people ‘breethe’. I’ve also been very conscious of giving people allowance for why they act the way they do - actually not people- just a person, but I know it’ll flow into how I see others too.
-
Why am I saying this? When someone continuously does something that irritates or annoys me, I’m riled up very easily. It makes me wonder, think and just get really upset. Why is this person like this? Why do I even know this person? Can’t this person read the room? Is this how everyone is? I get really upset, and then I try to shut it down.
-
But I’ve leaned in on my own weaknesses and realized, I also have flaws, visible flaws. Flaws that are probably no-go areas for some other people. Flaws that may totally cancel me out in the books of some other people. And little by little, I am telling myself: Let this person breethe.
-
You cannot necessarily change anybody but you can change your reaction towards them. You can listen to them, understand them, move out of their way. They mustn’t step down to your level. You must learn to step down to other people’s point of view to work with them and handle them, that’s true wisdom.

And while that is difficult for me, I’m praying with all of my heart that God gives me the wisdom to handle people.

It’s Monday and this scripture has been with me since last week. God helps my infirmities, God helps my weaknesses. I am not without help, I am not stranded, God’s strength is made perfect in my weakness. That’s the mindset for the week.

Our Friday weekend album comprises of all the songs on Marizu’s album titled Forever. The only time I had seen Marizu before now was in collaborations and features. Somehow, Apple Music brought his song titled “Abba” to my hearing and that began my adventure. Check him out. He’s really good and I’m listening to him while typing this. Lol.

The season of Easter is always for reflection: of the sacrifice the Trinity paid for mankind- Father, Son and Spirit. It is a time of deep gratitude for the gift of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus for where would we be now, if salvation wasn’t offered to us? And what would be our hope for eternity! But thanks be to God that at the end, Jesus despised the shame, and endured the cross, for a glorious future.

-My Mind and the Nigerian Elections-

When I think of elections, there’s a ray of hope.
Hope that perhaps things will finally get better for this nation and governance will change hands.
It doesn’t mean my hope isn’t still in Jesus, it’s more like Lord I trust you but please on earth, let things move positively.

About these 2023 elections, I’ve had so many thoughts and questions, doubts and emotional moments. Today in particular, I paused my emotions, made sure I didn’t feel anything. I hate to waste emotions when they cannot influence anything.

- I know that these elections especially with the way they’ve turned out aren’t God’s will.
- I’m struggling to think if God is interested in these elections. I don’t know if it makes any difference.
- Even if according to scriptures, the world will get darker and darker before Christ comes, darkness mustn’t always be equivalent to backwardness. Why is Nigeria’s case looking different?
- At this point, where do we go from here? What exactly can we do? What is the way out? I don’t believe in waiting for a messiah to take us out except it’s the rapture, which will occur across the world, not just in Nigeria. What can we do?
- Lastly, I’m just mad at these wicked people. I read through Job today and I felt his every pain while talking about wicked people. I could almost substitute it for Nigerian politicians.

I want to say “It is well” but is it really?

I’ve been studying the Book of Romans and I can tell you for free, that book is new with every study; the brilliance of Paul’s writing cannot be traced to anything but the supernatural. But that’s not even the core of this writeup, on a good day, we’d discuss that.

What I want to discuss from this book, is the beauty story of salvation explained; every step, every layer; line upon line, precepts upon precepts.

The gospel when brought into human light or story telling would be described as unimaginable, unrealistic, some would even address it as cheesy, if it were a movie or book, but it’s the reality of everyone who accepts the saving grace of Jesus.

That God imputed His righteousness in man through Jesus Christ, that He gave us Himself that we might be one with Him, that He cleaned every slate of sin and put in our account, righteousness that we can now show forth good works.

I am amazed at the thoughtfulness and love that could’ve gone into the project of redemption. It’s not something I can easily think of without shedding tears or screaming in awe or just bowing in holy reverence to God.
I’m in awe of God’s intentionality towards mankind and I forever marvel at the price He had to pay for mankind.

My all time favorite this week..... It’s been quite a battle over here but we know that Jesus has given us victory on the cross, and we have to walk in the light of that victory-that is true warfare. You don’t fight to conquer the enemy, the enemy has been conquered on account of the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ; you walk in the light and strength of the victory. For the power of God was shown expressly-by the empty tomb.

I've always thought myself compassionate, understanding, relatable. Till I was termed judgmental. The first time I was called 'judgmental", I shook, retreated, and almost caved into tears. Me, the sweet and lovely girl? Judgemental? Bi ti bawo?

Later I discovered that to be compassionate, is to be like Jesus. It's to see things the way the master sees things, and yes, to be compassionate at times can come off as judgmental especially when the truth isn’t denied.

To be compassionate is also to speak and stand for the truth but with mercy. To be compassionate is to live in the fruit of the spirit which is love. It's to be selfless. To be compassionate is to look like Jesus!
