2023: Oshiomhole Declares For Senate

The former governor of Edo State, Adams Oshiomhole, has declared his intention to contest under the All Progressives Congress (APC) to represent the people of Edo North Senatorial District in the 2023 election.

The 70years old former Edo governor made the declaration at an enlarged APC meeting held in his country home, Iyamoh, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo, on Monday.

The former governor said that he took the decision after due consultation with the people of his constituency, friends, family and political associates.

“Many people have been asking me if I will run for the Senate, but I pleaded with them to wait until our national convention when I would have made up my mind.

“Now that the APC convention is over and we now have a new National Working Committee, I have decided to contest for the Senate come 2023,” Mr Oshiomhole said.

I didn't win election through rigging, forget about rigging in 2023 elections,’ Buhari tells politicians

“Those planning to rig the forthcoming elections should think twice because I intend to resolutely protect and defend the sacred will of the Nigerian people, to be expressed through the ballot box.

“As you are all aware, the tenure of this administration ends on May 29, 2023. Typical of election years all over the world, the tempo of political activities is often high.

“That is the nature of democracy. I am committed to bequeathing a stronger culture of credible elections to Nigeria than I met.

“As Nigeria goes through this trajectory, I urge our friends in the global community, represented by the Diplomatic Corps, to adopt a positive role that reinforces the doctrine of respect for our internal affairs and respect for facts and devoid of preconceived notions and bias.”

The Mystery in Nigeria Today

During my short break from work, I went on a tour to a small village in benue state named ZAKI-BIAM.

It was the HUT in that village that got my attention so I decided to stop and feel the presence and the atmosphere of this little village because that was the first time am seeing a HUT with my korokoro eye..😀😀

According to my little research, the name ZAKI-BIAM was named after a palm wine seller named Zaki. he is the head of the youth in this small village called Biam village.

Zaki-biam is a big town in Benue state.
It is surrounded by smaller villages and dominated by the Tivs speaking.

The Tivs are known for farming and their success is trapped in major produce like Yam and Groundnut.
They have the highest yam farming and market in the whole Nigeria and abridge most African countries.

In the year October 20-24,2001 there was a mass ex*****on of unarmed Tiv civilians by the Nigeria army during the tenure of President Olusegun Obasanjo as a civilian president.

The massacre, killing over one hundred Tivs, was a surreptitious operation of the Nigeria army to avenge the death of 19 soldiers lost during an unending war between the Jukum and Tivs
The mutilated bodies of those soldiers were found on 26 October,2001 near a primary school in Zaki-biam.

It was recorded that the invasion took place as a result of a triggered speech made by the president,Mr Olusegun Obasanjo during the funeral of deceased soldiers which took place in Abuja.
He noted that the people involved should be tracked and brought to book.

Today in Nigeria hundreds of our soldiers die and nothing happens.

According to Late.sani Abacha,he said, any incident that happens within 24hrs and the cause is not known by the government,it means the governments are involved in the incident.

I feel sad for Jonathan - Sule Lamido.

Sule Lamido, a member of PDP and a former governor of Jigawa state was interviewed by Arise news, during the interview session he was asked about his opinion concerning the news of Goodluck Jonathan's rumored defection to the APC to contest for Presidency.

Sule Lamido answered the question by saying, "I feel sad for Jonathan, I feel awfully bad for him because this is somebody that was not known in Nigeria 10 years ago, a former director in OPADEC, deputy governor, Governor, vice president, and President. Look at the rise, it is all through PDP, PDP gave him everything in life, PDP gave him the greatest reward anybody in PDP can attain, only three people have attained that position in PDP, Obasanjo, Yar'adua, and him. The party made him what he is and gave him the limelight and international recognition. He Is a PDP invention, he is a PDP facilitation, so how could he run under APC, the very party that vilified him, demonized him, and called him names, I feel sad.

Don't believe in APC because they removed him from office by blackmailing him and PDP. I was called a pastor in the north because of Jonathan, I stood by him through thick and thin, in the north i was seen as somebody that is against the northern interest because I believed in Nigeria, now for Jonathan to begin to contemplate going to APC to run for Presidency makes me pity him a lot, I just pity him, I really pity him".

Russia invade Ukraine to "demilitarize and denazify" Ukraine and to instill fear in those countries on its borders nursing the ambition to join NATO or looking westward. Russia equally wanted western weapons far away from its borders but what did Russia achieve so far? First, they are so good in bombing cities, towns and villages to the ground, looting cities and villages, ra**ng women and girls, tying up civilians and shooting them. Of course they sent poorly disciplined and drunk soldiers across. They also succeded in creating a massive flood of western military equipment and munitions to its borders and into Ukraine. They equally succeeded in making Sweden and Finland to get their application for NATO membership ready. What that means is that, in trying to scare countries away from NATO, NATO will gain two new members by the end of year or early next year. Meanwhile, the egomaniac Putin is busy issuing threats with his fingers on his nuclear triggers and gas taps, the only thing he have left 🤔. In Ukraine however, even Russian speaking people are developing a strong Ukrainian identity for themselves. Soviet Union is dead and gone forever, Putin will get to know that soon 🤔

Nigeria Needs A Team Player Like Me For President —Bukola Saraki

“I will lead Nigeria into a better future if given the opportunity to serve, never in the history of our great country have we seen the level of Insecurity, disunity like this.

“We are inching into a failing state, cost of living has skyrocketed, unemployment is high, we don’t have the luxury to let emotion define who leads us today. We don’t have the luxury of saying I will vote for him because we speak thesame language or we practice thesame religion, Nigeria needs a president who is a team player.

“I have all round experience having served in the executive as governor and in the legislature bas a Senator and rise to become the Senate President leading over 100 Senators , I have also succeed in the private sector , economically I am sound and I have what it takes to lead the country .

“I will leave Nigeria a better country than I met it, if given the opportunity to serve. As we speak, Nigeria spends 80 percent of its revenue to service debt , there is no way we can develop as a country with this kind of indices.

“Nigeria has a bright future , Nigerians must go for the best , we must set aside all sentiment, our challenge are biting us hard without minding our religion or ethnicity I will lead from the front.

I have held people together before in the Senate ,the reason their ploy to remove failed I related very well with my colleagues, people I worked with even in such a hostile environment, I stood my ground they wanted to borrow, we need a president who can afford to hold everyone together as well as stand his ground on the right policies that will move us forward.

“Also, I will increase gas production in Nigeria and bring my wealth of experience in business and private sector to bear especially in agriculture and other sectors of the economy, to create wealth, you must have the knowledge, certificate for skill acquisition and entrepreneurship .I can assure you that we must include young people as ministers in our government,” he said,” he said .

Samuel Eto’o rejects salary as president

Four times African player of the year, Samuel Eto’o has been praised since assuming office as the President of the Cameroonian football federation.

The legend’s promised not to receive salaries as president was fulfilled as such wages were diverted towards player wellbeing.

As part of his policies to ensure players earn the right amounts for their work, Eto’o has advocated for high wages for players in the Cameroonian women’s football league, the Guineas Super League which kickstarts soon.

According to reports, 100,000frs a month. Whilst the headline sponsor is expected to pay each of them an amount of 50,000frs, Eto’o personally decided to add 50,000frs more to each player’s monthly earnings.

Another initiative made in the best interest of the players by the FECAFOOT president is an instruction he gave out for every club to ensure that, players are duly enrolled on the National Social Insurance Fund, CNPS.

“My counsel to anybody. If you don’t love anybody’s daughter, instead of killing them, hand them back to their father. Divorce is not allowed under any condition but this is what I believe. It is better to be alive and there is no marriage than for you to die because of marriage. A killer marriage is a nonsense marriage. I am not talking of physical killing. There are people who can finish their wife or husband emotionally, psychologically, mentally. This woman is a shadow of her life”.

BRIEF HISTORY OF KADUNA

The History of Kaduna is generally related with power, struggle, and dominance. This is because it is considered the headquarters of Politics, Military Formations, and the Centre of Learning in Nigeria. Generally, it has been established that Kaduna is a term derived from the Hausa term ‘Kadduna’ to mean crocodiles. Although some scholars believe that it had been in existence since the 14th century AD. However, writing of Smith suggests that it may have been peopled even much earlier, thus making it belong to the area that experienced further influx as a result of tectonic changes experienced during one of the earliest changes in climatic conditions. Much of what is known of the area, especially in the area of power and administration became clearer with the arrival of the British in the 20th century when it was made a garrison town for the WAFF and later a capital city for the colonial government in Northern Nigeria. In this way, Kaduna was a city founded to play dual roles: a military garrison and a political headquarter. By the end of the twentieth century, it has become the headquarters of most military formations in Nigeria.

This includes HQ Garrison Mechanized Division, Nigerian Army, HQ Training Command, Nigerian Air Force, Nigerian Defence Academy, Defence Industries Corporation, and Nigerian Air force Base. With this, the surrounding towns like Jaji, Kachia, and Zaria benefitted greatly as they also hosted some other military formations. For instance, in Jaji, we have Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre, Nigerian Army School of Infantry, and the Infantry Corps Centre. Zaria has the Recruit Training Depot, Nigerian Army, Nigerian Military School, Nigerian Army School of Military Police, and 11 Field Engineers Regiment; while Kachia host the Nigerian Army School of Artillery.

KADUNA LAND AND PEOPLING👇👇👇

Kaduna in terms of landmass/space has a total area of 332, 400 sq. miles, the Northern Nigeria (North-West, North-Central, and North-East, this is completely outside what was to be the Sardauna Province that was added to it after the 1963 plebiscites) had 255, 400 Sq. m while Southern Nigeria (the South-West, South-East, and South-South combined) had only 76, 700 Sq.m. For this even then the North was made up of ¾ of Nigeria and at least the capital of this bigger part of Nigeria (Kaduna) should provide the administrative capital.
Since its establishment, Kaduna has always been relevant in Nigeria’s scheme of things.
In terms of population, the area has continually experienced astronomical growth when compared with other areas which maintain the same status as Kaduna. For instance, with a population of less than 2000 indigenous population in 1907, the first batch of 2000 soldiers was added to the population by 1914. The railway was attracting people as labourers, artisans, sellers, etc.

The original workforce was 300 and soon rose to become 3317 men and by late 1914 because many were recruited into the army to join the World War I, the labour force dropped to 2,500 men, while migrants in such places as Tudun Wada, Sabon Gari and Makera rose to about 5000. By 1927 when the Kaduna-Port Harcourt railway was opened, the population increased with more migrants, and the township could boast of over 10,000 inhabitants. By the 1952 census, the population rose to over 38,000 and with the 1963 census, the population rose to about 250,000. In the 1991 census, Kaduna city had about 1,307,311 (including the suburbs of the town in such Local Government areas of Igabi and Chukun) a little over the entire state’s population. That of 2006 was put at about 2 million (figures not verified). And as a result of the demographic change as well as its urban nature, Kaduna became an important city to many people for many reasons. This is where some of the challenges facing Kaduna may be located.

Apart from Lagos (and recent Abuja), Kaduna is noted for its cosmopolitan population and composition. This according to research is hinged on the fact that it is easily accessible to people especially since it hosts, on one hand, the railway junction from the coast of Lagos of up 1,200 km linking the northern parts of Zaria-Kano-Nguru and Maiduguri; Zaria- Funtua, Gusau, and Kaura Namoda; Zaria-Jos-Kafanchan and on the other hand the Kaduna railway lines linking the north with the Eastern part of the country through Kafanchan-Makurdi-Enugu and Port Harcourt to the sea. The import of this to Economic Historian is that it has led to the heavy industrialization of the area and as such attracted people as well as a source of economic growth in the city even before Independence in 1960. Once the country attained Independence in 1960, the influx of people into the area increased, so much so that by the early 1990s, it had attained the status of industrial-cum-economic nerve center and thus becoming a major melting point that it became a mini-Nigeria.

THE MAKING OF MODERN KADUNA👇👇👇

Although Kaduna had a history of attracting population even before the conquest of the Nigerian area in the early 1900, its attraction to the international world was already visible to the imperial world much earlier than some areas in modern Nigeria. For instance due to the strategic nature of Kaduna, Lord Fredrick Lugard the British High Commissioner as early as 1902, set up a Committee headed by Captain H. Gyme Howell to visit Kaduna as a neutral settlement and survey its suitability as capital even before the conquest of entire northern Nigeria and submits his recommendation. With this, the British government continued to make grand efforts to secure the place for the future.

This became realistic which the conquest and eventual fall of the Caliphate to the British in 1903, which made Kaduna serve as a neutral ground in the mobilization and preparation of the military conquest, which further justified its importance to the colonial government. This made Kaduna more of a military center as was justified by the 1907 action during which, the British following several surveys and Lugard made Kaduna headquarters of the Northern Nigerian Regiment of the WAFF and ordered the movement of troops on permanent relocation to Kaduna. When Lugard’s exploit in the North was appreciated and rewarded as Governor-General of Nigeria in 1913, he revisited Howell’s recommendations of the choice of Kaduna as capital for the Northern Protectorate and wrote the Secretary of State in London, Lord Harcourt, of the choice of new capital for Northern Nigeria stating thus:
“I recommend, therefore, that the capital (for northern Nigeria) should now be moved to the point where the railway crosses the Kaduna at mile 572 from Lagos. The movement started in 1913 before the World War I broke out in 1914”.

Thus from the onset, it is clear that the creation of Kaduna as a strategic point even by the colonial government was primarily to serve as a convenient capital firstly for the WAFF in northern Nigeria and later as the Administrative capital of the Northern Nigerian Protectorate. According to Oyedele, this marked a turning point in the history of urbanization and metropolitan development in Nigeria, which was a great departure from the history of the formation and existence of hitherto traditional cities in northern Nigeria in particular and the country in general. This was because in establishing Kaduna as a capital city, therefore, not only that the British colonial administration made a virtue out of expediency, but since then the town has remained the nerve center in the political, military, economic, and social history and development not only the present 19 Northern States in Nigeria but the entire country. Again not only that Kaduna is a center of learning, but it also remains one of the leading industrial centers in the country and the North in particular. This has been particularly noted by scholars when opined and acknowledge that over the years, Kaduna remains one of the few cities in Nigeria established as a capital city during the colonial period and has remained so to date.

This view is back by the following facts:👇👇👇

➢ Firstly, that First was the headquarters of the West African Frontier Forces during the conquest of northern Nigeria in 1907 and then the capital of the defunct Protectorate of Northern Nigeria from 1913-1957.

➢ Secondly, when the Regional government was introduced, Kaduna was maintained as the capital of the Northern Regional Government under the Premiership of the late Sardauna of Sokoto, Ahmadu Bello, from 1957-1967.

➢ Thirdly as early as the 1960s, it maintained a status as the capital of the North-Central State from 1967-1975. Following the renaming of the North-Central State in 1975 as Kaduna State (comprising of the defunct Zaria and Katsina Provinces), Kaduna yet remained the State’s capital between 1975 and 1987 when Katsina State was created out of the then Kaduna State, and Kaduna has been the capital city of the new but present Kaduna State since then.

KADUNA IN MODERN NIGERIAN POLITICS👇👇👇

The struggle for Independence from the British colonial authority led to a situation in which some Western-educated elites in Northern Nigeria largely resident in Kaduna saw themselves as a united force to champion this course. It was therefore not surprising that in October 1951, this United Force came together to form a cultural association they named Jam’iyar Mutanen Arewa, which was later transmuted into a political party in July 1952 and named Northern People’s Congress (NPC).

To justify the future role Kaduna was to play in the country’s political development, this party with a large following had its first convention in Kaduna and was to become the party that formed government both in the North and in Nigeria up to January 1966 when the first coup d’état was executed. Even without a Regional Government, Kaduna remains an important capital for the Northern states in Nigeria where the 19 States Governors, as well as the Council of Northern Traditional Rulers, meet regularly to discuss affecting their jurisdictions. Today Kaduna houses the Headquarters of the Jama’atul Nasir Islam established in 1963 and the Christian Association of Nigeria established in 1980.

Look at the picture closely, you see a cow?
The water on the fire is going to be used by the butchers to remove the hair on the body, the machine at the other end was brought by a vulcanizer to blow air into the cow for easy removal of the hair.

The dogs are waiting patiently to take their share of the cow meats and bone, the person who took this picture is the butcher, only the cow is not aware of the whole situations.

That's how some of us are, we are in the midst of enemies and we are not aware what they are planning against us.

I pray we will never be a prey for the wicked ones this month and beyond in the mighty name of God. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

Stop Saying What God Can't Do Doesn't Exist -Pastor Abel Damina Says As He Shares Reason

"He kills, He makes alive, He destroys, He doesn't reveal. Some of you have it inside your phone; some of you even makes it your screensaver. It will be an insult for you to join those who don't have a good pastor to be saying what God does not do, does not exist.

"That means God is responsible for the killing of unborn babies? That means God is responsible for the destruction of men's life? Death exist, that means God is responsible for it? Sickness exist, that means God is responsible for it? Poverty exist, that means God is responsible? Disasters exist, that means God is responsible? Lying exist among men exist, that means God is responsible? If you know the answers to these questions, then you will know that, that statement is wrong and you should stop saying it".

Most Nigerians were more comfortable with the idea of Professor Yemi Osinbajo replacing Muhammadu Buhari as next President, instead of the likes of BAT and Atiku Abubakar , until he shot himself in the hip, when he said he was going to continue what PMB started.

Two Million People Will Start Receiving ₦20bn Monthly From June – FG

Two million people will start receiving about N20bn from June this year as basic cash transfers and conditional cash transfers under the National Cash Transfer Programme, the Federal Government has said.

It was gathered that the Federal Government would pay the two million people N5,000 each under the basic cash transfer and an additional N5,000 under the conditional cash transfer. This implies that the government would be spending N20bn on the beneficiaries.

A March 2022 document on the strategic roadmap and activities of the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, obtained by our correspondent in Abuja on Sunday, showed that the number of people receiving cash transfers from the government had been increasing.

The report stated that in 2018, a total of 19 states were covered under the National Cash Transfer Programme, as this increased to 24 states in 2019 and moved up to 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory in 2022, covering 1.6 million people.

The minister said, “To date, of this one million targeted by the government, we have been able to pay the sum of N5000 to 850,000 beneficiaries digitally through the Nigeria Inter-bank Settlement System, where each account is carefully validated by the system before payment.

“150,000 will be paid by the end of April 2022. Each of these beneficiaries is receiving six months of support in cash.”

Under the National Social Register, the ministry stated that 46 million persons in the 36 states and FCT, in 11 million households, had been registered as of 2022.

The ministry stated that the N-Power volunteer scheme provided temporary job opportunities for 498,602 graduates under Batches A and B, while 450,000 graduates under Batch C Stream 1 were also engaged

It added that 390,000 others were being onboarded for Batch C Stream 2, and that there was presidential approval to enroll additional one million beneficiaries.

It further stated in the document that 174 of the 1,850 mobile agents trained, kitted, and registered with the Central Bank of Nigeria – Shared Agents Network Expansion Facility for agency banking achieved a transaction volume of over N657m between January 1 and March 25, 2022.

“The top 10 mobile money agents executed transactions totaling N300,095,545.06 and earned N1,852,499.00 between January and March 25, 2022,” the ministry stated.

The report indicated that 9.8 million pupils were being fed daily under the National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, while 127,000 cooks had been engaged and 98 aggregators were supplying various protein products.

The school feeding programme is one of the four clusters of the National Social Investment Programme which seeks to provide one free daily meal to pupils on the programme.

The NHGSFP is designed as a collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments. The Federal Government is responsible for the release of funds, guidelines, policies, and monitoring.

The state carries out the day-to-day implementation including procurement of food items, and selection of cooks and vendors who prepare, cook, and serve the meals to the pupils.
