In his opening remarks, the Head, Department of Mechatronics Engineering, Professor Musa Aibinu, said the programme was to provide wings for the graduating students to soar, adding that the exhibition was also to pave way for patenting and commercialisation of the final year projects. Professor Aibinu, who also doubles as the principal investigator of the AI4CE project, highlighted that the project exhibition was to climax a 3-day career event for the final year students.

"Who education epp?"
"Nigerian graduates are not employable"
"Nigerian tertiary institutions' curriculum is archaic."
"Nigerian graduates are not industry ready"

These are common assertions on the lips of so many. These statements are pointing at how people feel that Nigerian tertiary institutions are not equipping students with the needed skills. It is easy to join the crowd to hurl stones on the entire system. However, as much as it is not easy to discountenance these statements, our belief at AbitoCitta is that there are people within the system pushing the boundaries of the limitations of the systemic challenges. Here is an interview with a recent graduate of the University of Ilorin who worked with two other colleagues to design a pipeline inspection robot. Read, like, comment and share.....
