The Chairman of the Planning and Implementation Committee of As-Salam International University, Hadejia, Professor Umar Muhammad Labdo, on behalf of the entire members of the Committee, wishes to extend it's condolences to Sheikh Imam Dr. Abdullahi Bala Lau, National Chairman of the Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'a Wa Iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS - Nigeria, over the death of his brother Alhaji Sabo Lau recently.

May the gentle soul of this gentleman rest in perfect peace, amin.

May the Jannatul Firdaus be his final resting place in the hereafter. Allah Yayi masa Rahma.

We pray that Allah in His wisdom continue to protect the entire Muslim Ummah from the evils of all enemies anytime.

May Allah give the family the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.

We also use this medium to pray for the continuous peace and unity of our country, Nigeria. Allah Ya karbi bakuncin wannan bawan Allah.

POSITION OF JIBWIS - NIGERIA ON COVID - 19 PANDEMIC

All praise be to Allah, the Most gracious, the Most Merciful. May the peace and blessings of Allah be with Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W.), his family and all his Companions uptill the day of judgement.

Considering the sudden emergence of COVID 19, popularly known as Corona Virus, as a global emergency, where thousands of people around the world died as a result of the disease, in addition to thousands confirmed infections, the Jama'atu Izalatil Bid'a Wa'iqamatis Sunnah, JIBWIS - Nigeria - an organisation that propagate the religion of Islam under my leadership as the National Chairman, has put forward the following suggestions and the good people of Nigeria, thus:

1. Ensure continuous submission to the will of Allah the Almighty, with the firm belief that we are all humans that always seek support , guidance and protection from Allah the Most High. And all these viruses are also creations of Allah to humanity.

2. That all people should seek forgiveness from Allah the Almighty, return all things that does not brlong to them and that people should continue to pray and seek for forgiveness from Allah at all times.

3. Ensure continuous unity between governments Medical professionals and the Ulamas with a view to effectively fight this COVID 19 pandemic that has already done a great damage to the society.

4.And that if government and Medical professionals has come to an acceptable agreement that calls for the suspension of Juma'at prayers or five daily prayers in some Mosques or reduction in number of people in a particular congregational prayers as a way of bringing to an end the effect of any pandemic, in this regard, COVID 19 pandemic, the religion of Islam has accepted this measure as a solution to the continous spread of the disease.

JIBWIS - Nigeria has called on all Muslim Ummah to always support this protective initiative when ever the need arises.

JIBWIS -Nigeria however, prayed to Allah the Most High to bring an end to the daily spread of this COVID 19 pandemic in Nigeria and around the globe.

Alhamdu Lillah. May the peace and blessings of Allah be with Prophet Muhammad ( S.A.W. ), his family and all his companions uptill the day of Judgement. Ameen.

PROTECTING NIGERIANS FROM COVID-19 IS PRIORITY FOR US NOW, SAYS PRESIDENT BUHARI

President Muhammadu Buhari Friday in Abuja reiterated the commitment of his administration to the welfare of Nigerians especially with the current happenings around the world.

Speaking while receiving the management of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) in State House, President Buhari said: “I am pleased that you are working with the Ministry of Health on protecting our citizens from Covid-19 virus.”

“You must work to guarantee the safety and security of our pilgrims. As a government, this is now a key priority for us. I therefore enjoin you to ensure that adequate medical provisions and other welfare requirements are afforded our pilgrims,” he added.

The President expressed his delight with the operations of the Commission so far especially, the reduction to up to 15 per cent in Hajj fares.

“I am pleased to hear of the progress you have made thus far especially in reducing Hajj fares by up to 15 per cent. I am also impressed that you are still working to further bring down the cost next year. This is commendable now especially with the recent global events that have impacted on the economy. Such savings will be timely and most welcome to the pilgrims as well as to Nigeria’s economy,” he said.

President Buhari however, cautioned them against sacrificing quality for safety and comfort of pilgrims.

“However, as you assess and reduce these costs, you must ensure that quality service and comfort are provided for our pilgrims as these are the core mandates of your Commission and must remain your primary goal,” he said.

The Chairman of the Commission, Zikrullah Kunle Hassan had informed the President of the efforts of the commission to make life better for Nigerians on pilgrimage. He said that the Saudi government had given some concessions to Nigerians especially in the way of accommodation and tents, assuring the President of even better deals next year when his Board fully takes over negotiations.

“With your kind approval this year, we are working to take full charge of Makhan accommodation because hitherto, the states have been in charge. The idea is that when we take full charge, we will be able to reduce further the cost and to do this, we need to engage the accommodation agents and owners in a possible two to three-year lease with a view to having a reduction in price,” he said.

Alhaji Hassan also appealed to the President to constitute the Board of Trustees of the Hajj Savings Scheme to make it easier for pilgrims to perform their religious obligation.

He further assured that he was in discussions with the Federal Ministry of Health on the Covid-19 pandemic as the Commission aligns itself with government positions in tackling the scourge.

SEN. ABDULAZIZ YARI LEAD APC IN ZAMFARA
* Described Sen. Marafa's allegations as laughable.

Leader of All Progressives Congress, APC, in Zamfara State, Sen. Abdulaziz Yari Abubakar has described as laughable, allegations by Sen. Kabiru Marafa that he was planning to unseat Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman of APC.

Sen. Abdulaziz Yari who is the immediate past Governor of Zamfara State said in a statement that there was no iota of truth in the allegations credited to Kabiru Marafa that the Nigeria Governors Forum which he led until May 2019, was planning to install him as it's concensus candidate for APC National Chairmanship seat.

All APC members across the country including the leadershipof the Party were aware of all the anti party activities done by Sen. Marafa including the court cases he personally sponsored to ensure that APC lost everything in Zamfara State.

This is why Sen. Marafa is now beating about the bush, trying to create artificial hatred between former Governor Yari and the National leadership of APC and indeed our President Muhammadu Buhari.

While Former Governor Yari and other APC stakeholders worked tirelessly to ensure the victory of APC in Zamfara State, Sen. Marafa worked assiduously to ensure that APC lost everything in Zamfara State. An action that cannot be done by a very good and patriotic party member.

It is still very fresh in the memory of all Nigerians how Sen. Marafa worked against APC in Zamfara State, an action that led the opposition PDP took over Zamfara State.

Sen. Abdulaziz Yari therefore, cautioned Marafa and his partners not to set him against the President Muhammadu Buhari and the National leadership of his party, the APC, headed by Adams Oshiomhole as the National Chairman.

" These spurious narratives, aimed at pitching the former Governor against the Presidentat all cost will not work. "

Recalled that Sen. Yari, while serving as Governor of Zamfara State and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum, towards the tail end of President Buhari's first term in office, championed an initiative tagged " Forward with Buhari " that worked across the country to ensure that Buhari was reelected. Where was Marafa then? He was so busy working against the APC and the president.

" As Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum I ensured that the President had a productive synergy with the Governors across party lines. "

The good people of Zamfara State and indeed all loving Nigerians hold nothing but gratitude to Allah the Almighty for giving Sen. Abdulaziz Yari good health to continue to support those that comes around him.

IMMIGRATION OFFICERS TO UNDERGO DRUG TESTS
* Drug test to begin with CGI Babandede
* Warn officers to be cautious in the use of weapons

In his determined commitment towards sanitizing the Nigeria Immigration Service, Free from drug abuse, the Comptroller General of Immigration Muhammad Babandede, has mandated all officers of the Service to undergo drug tests to ensure proper handling of weapons.

The Comptroller General disclosed this in a statement by the Service Public Relations Officer, Sunday James in Abuja.

Muhammad Babandede warned officers and men of the Service to be cautious in the use of weapons while on duty.

"We cannot afford to be careless with weapons, hence all officers of the Service will undergo drug test beginning with me. We shall not dismiss anyone at first dicovery, but we would try to rehabilitate. "

"However, if the fellow continued unrepentant, administrative procedures will be followed and appropriate sanctions appreciate, "the CG added.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, has graduated 509 officers of the third conversion and upgrading course at the immigration Training school, kano.

Mr Babandede urged the officersto cherish their new ranks by aligning with the commitment and dedication to the duty of the Supritendent Cadre.

The Comptroller General reiterated the need for the officers to put what they learnt into action, noting that the Service had invested so much into training and capacity development.

He encouraged them to maximize the knowledge of ICT gained to uplift the standard of the Service among other sister agencies by complementing each other whenever the need arises.

On the visa on arrival policy, the CGI said it was a huge opportunity for Africans that were coming for legitimate businesses to thrive in countries other than their own.

He added that it was a means of integration and cementing African brotherhood and breaking the barriers of free movement among Africans.

Mr Babandede assured Nigerians that the policy would be handled professionally through best global practices without compromising National Security .
