Oba Ewuare II, the Benin monarch, has received two artefacts, iyiokhokho and a wooden bronze plaque, from the University of Iowa museum in the US. The return of these treasures has sparked joy at the palace, with the monarch thanking former President Muhammadu Buhari for his support in repatriating Benin artefacts. Oba Ewuare II also urged political elites to respect the customs and traditions of the people. The event was attended by dignitaries, including APC governorship candidate Monday Okpepholo, who came to congratulate the monarch on this significant occasion."

Edo Police Crackdown on Cultism: 3 Kingpins Arrested

In a bid to tackle cultism, Edo State Police Command has arrested three alleged kingpins of a cult group. Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, paraded the suspects in Benin, revealing that they were apprehended at different locations across the state. The police also seized weapons and charms, including cut-to-size rifles. Adegboye commended the state government and House of Assembly for strengthening anti-cultism laws, enabling the police to effectively tackle the menace."
