In our previous post, we talked about body confidence.

Body confidence is accepting the way you look and feeling good about it.

It is how powerful you feel in your body, How happy you feel with your shape and color.

Today we'll talk about how to build body confidence.

Body confidence is a skill easier said than done. It needs a lot of work and consistency on your part.

POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS: this is an effective way of practicing self-love and building body confidence.

This involves saying positive and affirmative words aloud and getting verbal encouragement and visual reminders of the kind and beautiful things you want to hear and see about yourself.

One of the positive affirmations can be "I'm more than enough, I'm beautiful/handsome, I don't need any validation to feel good, only my opinion matters when it comes to how I feel". This will go a long way in helping you build confidence.

You can search on the Internet for positive affirmations in the area you want to build confidence.

COMPLIMENT AND PRAISE OTHERS FREELY: compliment whether given or received has the capacity to make one feel good. So give compliments unreservedly, it's a reflection of how you see yourself.

If you're harsh to people, it means you're also harsh and unforgiving to yourself. Positive compliments to others open you up to being kinder and more loving to yourself.

EAT AND LIVE HEALTHIER: One secret to building body confidence is a healthy lifestyle. It shows how much you love yourself if you treat your body healthily.

Rather than worrying about what's wrong with your body, think of how healthy you want to live and put those thoughts into action. Then sit back and watch your body reward you for your efforts.

Healthy eating, dieting, and exercise are the foundation of living healthily.

FOCUS ON THE THINGS YOU LIKE ABOUT YOURSELF: oftentimes you see only the flaws and imperfections that it blinds you to the beauty you have.

The good gets overshadowed by the bad that you feel bad and embittered towards yourself.

Take a pen and paper and write out the parts of your body that you like and why you like them and what they help you achieve. You'll find more reasons to love your body.

APPRECIATE YOUR BODY: you don't appreciate things you have until you lose them.

Your body is healthy, you didn't lose a limb or be confined to a wheelchair or bedridden or worse dead. Your body has been going on despite how badly you've thought of it and treated it.

Take care of your body today and give it a treat and thank it for sticking with you and remember to give it some rest.

Body confidence is accepting the way you look and feel good about it.

It is how powerful you feel in your body, How happy you feel with your shape and color.

There's confidence and there's confidence in the body you live in.

Society has propagated a beauty standard and a way of life that it seems anything else is you being a failure.

Most times it's a false representation of what true beauty is all about. Well, believe in social media at your own risk.

You're okay just the way you are, you don't need to subscribe to the beauty standard of society.

Allowing others to dictate how you should look or sound is ridiculous.

Own your look and be unapologetic about your body type.

There's no set beauty standard, there's beauty in every shape, body, and color.

Again harming yourself is a sign of self-esteem. Own your body and flaunt it, do not let anyone body-shame you.

It's okay to be self-conscious from time to time (the most confident people do). Just don't allow it to ruin or rule your life/day.

Body confidence is attractive. So make it a must-have for you. It helps build your self-image and esteem.

We live in a world that constantly tells us what to do, how to act, what to be. Knowing how to be true to yourself and live the life you want can be a challenge.

I'm talking about happiness, peace, integrity, self-love and self fulfillment. I have come to believe without all these with oneself it is entirely impossible to be truly happy. Stop caring what other people think, the most important thing is what makes you happy.

Wear what you want to wear, eat what you want to eat, go where you want to go, do what makes you happy. If I had looked at what people would say of me. I wouldn't be here today. You don't need negative, hurtful people in your life. There opinions should go straight out the window.

Be you ! Take Yourself out, learn that craft, forgive Yourself, be truthful to Yourself, say good things to You and most importantly LOVE YOURSELF !

Have you ever felt the need to fit in? The desire to blend in and belong in a group or clique?

The need to do anything or be anything to make people like or accept you.

Those times you feel like a square peg in a round hole. A golden egg amid white eggs.

There's a reason you're a square peg or a golden egg.

You're to stand out and be yourself, be true to yourself and your purpose.

You'll fit perfectly in the right situation and place. You've got a purpose so stay true to it.

Be yourself and do you, and the right people will find you.

Then you won't have to need to find your place, you'll discover that your place is you.

You don't owe anyone anything. The only person you should please is God and yourself.

Anything else is just you trying to fit into a mold and become who and what you are not.

People will definitely have unrealistic opinions of you and what you should do or be doing.

Squash that urge to please and spread your wings and soar. Shine your light so bright and light up everywhere.

Never allow self doubt to rob you of the life you can build for yourself
