The Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, has revealed reasons behind his choice of former Commissioner in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Lucky Aiyedatiwa as a running mate ahead of the October 10 governorship election. The need for the Governor to give reasons behind his choice became necessary after he dashed the hopes of many chieftains of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by selecting Mr Aiyedatiwa who is a native of an oil-bearing community Obe-Nla, in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State. According to to the Bayelsa Representatives, aside from the civil disobedience by the ex-agitators, the absence of a substantive Coordinator for the Amnesty Programme is creating a vacuum that makes it difficult for the programme to be properly managed meaningfully, transparently and brought to a logical end. As the incidence of COVID-19 pandemic continues to record more human casualties, the Federal Government has deemed it necessary to warn Nigerians that the virus is still dangerous. The warning was given by the secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) Boss Mustapha on Monday while speaking at a briefing by the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
