In collaboration with The Global Goals in Egypt, and in partnership with the Egyptian Youth Council, we would be training Some African Campus Journalists, Climate reporters and researchers tomorrow. Monday, 11th April, 2022.

Keys issues about climate change and it's effects on the African countries, the economy, the significant of Cop27 holding in Africa would be discussed.

Awo will be moderating alongside other of our resource persons from Egypt.

WHERE IS THE FUTURE?
Couple of days back I was privileged took out by cool and respectful guy(thrives calling me brother) for the new year merriment. Getting there I was served chilled soft drink that suits me.

Obviously, it was disheartened and baffled me lot to see the one rely on as the future of tomorrow, the age range we call "teenagers" imbibing immoral behaviour and all sorts of social vices I don't need to to mention here with the thought of cashing fun and celebrating.

Then I came up with series of questions run through my mind. Where are their parents? Are they all orphan? Is that what poverty has turn some people into? Do our leaders have anything to do with these at all?

However, "some future has been ruined beyond remediation". Are they care or concern with what future brings at all?

Parent and Teenagers contribute lot to the failure of our society no doubt. Sometimes our leaders brutal actions don't really need to be criticised or chastised against these in our society.
There is a need for our "teenagers" to be sensitized and well oriented. If otherwise the future is at stake.

The Webinar will focus on Climate Change and Health Reporting

National Union of Campus Journalists, Nigeria, invites members across the country to participate in its upcoming capacity building webinar.

The 2nd phase of the webinar series tagged The Role of Campus Journalists in Achieving a Greener Continent”*, seeks to introduce campus journalists to the rudiments of health and climate change reporting.

It will expose campus journalists to the role of the media in driving awareness on climate issues and its impacts on health, as well as understanding the coverage of these issues and how to engage the public, government and other climate change stakeholders.

Akintunde Babatunde (Program Manager, PTCIJ-NAREP) and Chibuke Alagbaso (Journalist, Nigerian Health Watch), will be bringing their depth of knowledge and experience to facilitate the sessions, dissecting *"climate reporting as a tool for sustainable development"* and the *"effects of climate change on public health"*, respectively.

With support from her partners, the Union will provide data support for 100 campus journalists selected across all geopolitical zones.

Campus Journalists who are interested in data support package should contact the Zonal Secretaries of their zones to express interest on or before Friday, 12:00am:

As a union, Union of campus journalists Benue State University UcjBsum will be working towards accountability and transparency through social responsibility in the university and the university community.

As a chapter body to NATIONAL UNION OF CAMPUS JOURNALISTS we will be responsible, committed to developmental journalism. To build our members through workshops, seminars as well webinars. We will also manage the relationship with to raised socially accountable journalist in a transparent society.
