BBNaija Season 5

Organisers of the Big Brother Naija, BBNaija reality show have announced a new date for auditioning housemates for its next season.

In a post on its verified Twitter page, the organizers announced that auditioning for the show would begin on May 20th till the 30th.

The show promoters have asked participants interested in the reality show to upload a video introducing themselves and giving reasons for their interest in the show.

The tweet said the audition will be open to young adults above 21years, with valid Nigerian passports.

A widow with her son lived in a village. The widow will go to the farm morning and comeback at night with grains of corn and store them in a jerrican until dry season came, and the son would bring his friends and play football at his front yard and when they are exhausted, he would want to bring down the jerrican to fry the corn and eat but the mum would refuse him. Until 1day the mum passed and after the burial he had access the corn as he wants and said "foolish old witch where are u now to stop me and why didn't u take the corn along with u to the grave".After playing football he will fry the corn and call his friends to eat and gradually the corn was going, until 1 day after they played their football again, they all ate the last of it and the next day his friends ask him to bring corn and behold there was none and they left him and went to their various homes .He went inside searched up and down but couldn't find anything to eat, then he sat down and cried out mama!!! You are wise and good o, you warned me but didn't listen .am coming home o.

ESAN WEST LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA CHAIRMAN SWORN IN 5 SUPERVISORS AND 10 SA’s AS HER 1ST OFFICIAL DUTY IN OFFICE

Esan West LGA Chairman Hon. Mrs Ruth Osahon Okunwe swears in 5 supervisors and 10 SA’s right after her swearing in ceremony

Recall few weeks ago, Edo State House of Assembly removed Hon. Patrick Aguinede from the seat of Esan West LGA Chairman over reports of misconduct received from Investigations Committee And Panel Of Enquiry

Some of which are;

1: Under remittance of revenue collected, and conversion of some for his personal use.

2: Gross abuse of office.

3. Hon. Patrick attempt to mislead the panel by presenting fake and concocted figures from a document which he refused to release to the panel.

4: In the course of investigations, the panel received a copy of the petition wherein the legislative Arm of Esan West Local Government council passed a vote of no confidence on the suspended Chairman based on the following:

i: Sales of Aigberadion market in Ekpoma without remitting the proceeds to the treasury of the council.

ii: The whereabouts of the proceeds from the sales of motorbikes rider's reflective jackets.

iii: Grading of roads in the wards without following the due process and with unknown contractors.

5: The panel also found out that the acting Chairmain, Hon. Ruth Osahon who assumed duty on 7th October 2019, after the suspension of Hon. Patrick Aguinede generated the sum of 9,000,000.00 between 7th & 30th October while operating on the same revenue generating structure of the council. In the month of November,2019 under the supervision of the acting Chairmain, Hon. Ruth Osahon, the council realized #10,472,300 million. This again is an overwhelming confirmation of the under remittance of IGR by the suspended Chairman.
During the Revenue retreat meeting held on Tuesday,10th September,2019, wherein Hon. Patrick Aguinede declared the sum of 4,000,000.00 million, the sudden increase to 7,600,000.00 million in the month of September 2019, is a confirmation of the under remittance which is patently a frudulent act of the suspended Chairman Hon. Patrick Aguinede.

CARDI B HINTS INTEREST IN NIGERIA'S CITIZENSHIP AND ALSO A POSSIBLE TRIBE TO BELONG

It's safe to say that American Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known by her stage name as Cardi B isn't a fan of US President Donald Trump, especially after the widespread news of the killing of a distinguished Iranian General by US strikes, which invariably created more enemies for the United States of America as a nation & its citizens.

For fear of possible revenge attacks, it is quite understandable why many American citizens might be in panic mode right now. And among those fearful is female rapper Cardi B who lashed out at Trump on twitter for the inconveniences caused, while she hinted she could be on her way to Nigeria for a change of Citizenship to the most populous vibrant nation in Africa.

Obviously her message on citizenship change caught lots of people attention on twitter by surprise. But, trust Nigerians as they rallied round and resumed the banter against our West African neighbours citing that once again CARDI B has chosen NIGERIA over GHANA.

But on seeing the rising trend that her 'Nigerian citizenship' tweet is already making on twitter, the 27-year-old 'Money' rapper took the drama a notch higher by hinting that she's choosing a Nigerian tribe she could easily relate with. And it seems like she has just found her perfect choice of Naija tribe as she approves the Yoruba tribe over Igbo.

Sowore Nominated For United States Prisoner Of Conscience Honour

Pro-democracy campaigner and journalist, Omoyele Sowore, has been nominated to receive the Prisoner of Conscience honour from the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission of the United States House of Representatives.

The bipartisan commission is charged with promoting, defending and advocating for international human rights.

U.S lawmaker, Josh Gottheimer, sponsored Sowore’s nomination for the prestigious recognition.

The Congressman made the announcement during a meeting with other American politicians on Friday.

He said, “For months now, I have been working closely with the Sowore family, the Haworth community, the State Department, and my colleagues to advocate on Yele’s behalf.

“We are urging the Nigerian Government to protect Yele’s safety, provide him with the due process he deserves, and ultimately permit him to return home as soon as possible.

“We will continue watching the situation in Nigeria, a democracy seeking closer ties with the United States, to make sure the government respects basic human rights.”

Gottheimer and other members of Congress had earlier sent a letter to Nigeria’s Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami (SAN), requesting that immediate steps be taken to ensure the safety and security of Sowore while still in custody and to ensure he get a credible trial.

Few days after receiving that latter, Malami on Tuesday ordered the release of Sowore from unlawful detention by the Department of State Services.

The journalist was first arrested on August 3, 2019.For calling on Nigerians to take to the streets in peaceful demonstrations to demand a better country from political leaders.

He was briefly released on bail on December 5 but was rearrested a few hours later on December 6 by DSS operatives while appearing for his trial in a case where he is being accused of insulting President Muhammadu Buhari and planning to bring down his regime.

In all, Sowore spent over four months in detention despite two court orders directing his release on bail during that period.

Jonathan’s country home Attacked By Gun Men

Unknown gunmen killed a soldier on guard duty at the courtyard of former President Goodluck Jonathan situated close to the bank of the river at Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area, Bayelsa State.

Multiple sources said about three of the gunmen were killed by the soldiers, who foiled their attempt to break into the house.

One of the sources, who spoke in confidence, said the gunmen came through the river on five speedboats and opened fire on the soldiers.

The source said: “Armed men who came in about five boats attacked the home of former President Jonathan, killing a security personal attached to the former president and about three of the gunmen were shot dead in the process”.

An Ogbia youth leader, who spoke in confidence, described the attack on Jonathan’s house as disturbing.

however, soldiers whose checkpoint is located at the waterside, quelled the attack but unfortunately one of them died in the process

Anthony Joshua yesterday, December 7th 2019, redeemed himself by defeating Andy Ruiz. Jr in the boxing heavyweight match in Saudi Arabia.

Nigerian singer, Burna Boy, has made the list of nominees for 2020 Grammy Awards.

In the recently released list on Grammys.com website, Burna’s African Giant album is nominated for ‘Best World Music category.’

The nomination is for albums containing at least 51% playing time of new vocal or instrumental World Music recordings.

Nominated in the same category with Burna Boy is Altin Gün (GECE); Bokanté & Metropole Orkest Conducted By Jules Buckley (WHAT HEAT); Nathalie Joachim With Spektral Quartet (FANM D’AYITI) and Angelique Kidjo (CELIA).
