*BEWARE OF MONKEY BUSINESS*

In case you do not know what Monkey Business is all about,or u might have heard it a long time ago,

This is it...
A lot of monkeys lived near a village.

One day a merchant came to the village to buy the monkeys.

He announced that he would buy the monkeys for £100 each.

The villagers thought he was mad.

They thought how can somebody buy stray monkeys for £100 each?

Still, some people caught a few monkeys and gave them to the merchant and he gave them £100 for each monkey.

This news spread like wildfire and more people caught more monkeys to sell to the merchant.

After a few days, the merchant announced that he would buy monkeys for £200 each.

Even the lazy villagers now ran around to catch the remaining monkeys and sold them for £200 each.

Then the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys for £500 each.

The villagers started to lose sleep! They caught six or seven monkeys, which was all that was left, and got £500 for each one.

The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.

Then the merchant said he was going home for a week and when he returned he would buy monkeys for £1,000 each.

He asked his employee to take care of the monkeys he bought.

The merchant went home and the villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell at £1,000 each.

Then the employee told them he will secretly sell them monkeys for £700 each.

This news spread like wildfire. Since the merchant will buy monkeys for £1,000 each, there is a £300 profit for each monkey.

The next day the villagers made a queue near the monkey cage.

The employee sold all the monkeys for £700 each. The rich bought monkeys in big lots. The poor borrowed money from money lenders and also bought monkeys.

The villagers took care of the monkeys and waited for the merchant to return.

But nobody came.
They ran to the employee, but he had already left too.

The villagers then realised that they had bought the valueless stray monkeys.

In conclusion, leave Ponzi Scheme alone!

A client spoke to me about her business how she was struggling and needed my intervention. I went there and requested for her books, invoices and receipt. She was making sales but was truly struggling. After proper analysis of her books, this was what I discovered. Record keeping was poor.

The major reason for many business failure is lack of Record Keeping.

It is one of the most important tools of any successful business. In the beginning, always keep detailed records of expenses and profit earned. Write down all of the equipment you purchased and any amount used to purchase it. It helps you understand your financial situation and helps you identify your strengths and weaknesses.

HOW TO MARKET YOUR PRODUCTS EFFORTLESSLY

A dear lady said to me. I have a very good product but my challenge is how to market the product. It's so difficult having it in supermarkets and stores. I need help.

I asked her this - when you go to market your product,what do you tell them and she said, when I enter the shop, I bring out my products and ask them to buy but it's always a negative response.

I said to her, one thing you need to realise about marketing is that nobody wants to buy from you until it is absolutely needed. Nobody wants to buy any product until you give them a need to buy the product.

We had a little practical.
I said follow me and see what I will do. We both went to a store in town and I went straight to the unit where the collection of similar goods are displayed. I asked for the particular brand she was marketing and they apologized that they don't have that particular brand. I asked to see the supervisor of that unit and they took me to him. I asked him why he doesn't have that particular brand, he pointed to that session and said "these are all we have".

I advised him to look for that particular brand in the market. I told him how effective that brand is and how everyone is needing that particular brand now. Letting him know that not having that particular brand may give his regular customers option of checking the other stores around. When I finished, I told him I can help out with the contact person that supplies to other mall in the state.

He was interested and said he would speak to his Boss about it. I took out my phone and gave him the number. Which was the lady's number. She was just watching in amazement.

The next day, The lady was called by that particular store to inquire about the product and they requested she bring sample of the product. That particular store now sells that product and the sales has been impressive.

Dear business owner,
It is not everything that is thought in school. Real Marketing is not thought in school. Marketing is simply making someone understand he is missing out by not having your product.

AVOID EXCUSES AND START THAT BUSINESS TODAY

Excuses are like shoes, when ever you look for it, you will find the one that fits perfectly.

Last 2 weeks at the grocery, I encountered a young lady who walked up to me and introduced herself, saying that although I didn't know her, she had been following my social media posts. She thanked me so much for the value she got following my post.

We got to speak, and she shared her story with me.
She said she was so inspired and decided to start her egg distribution business with her N200,000 savings. She did a simple business plan and made a list of her Target market, which included all the stores and supermarkets around her. The amazing thing about the story was that her uncle saw what she was doing and invested N500,000 into her business. Now she is distributing her eggs in a larger quantity.

The great lesson in this is that if she had not started, she would never had gotten that support. Nobody likes rubbish. Nobody would invest in nothing. Life would only give you what you deserve not what you wish.

The truth is that life provides us with several opportunities to give up on a daily basis, but we have the choice of accepting it or turning it into a victory narrative.

Even if you had a business before and it crashed to zero, it doesn't mean your life is over. You have the option of staying down or picking up the pieces and turning it into a triumphant story that will inspire others.

What's your excuse today?
There's no one to assist you in your business? Maybe you lost your job for a long period of time. It's time to pick up those pieces and start a business today. Don't say tomorrow.

Stop making excuses for your failures and turn that circumstances around. It's a waste of time to point the finger at someone or something for the misfortune you found yourself. It doesn't make a difference.
