Dr. Kole Shettima, Africa Director, MacArthur Foundation. on 90Minutes Africa today at 4:30p.m.

If you think there is a lack of transparency and accountability in Nigeria, imagine how it would have been without the civil society organizations (CSO) working daily to entrench those ideals.

A global network of foundations and charities is the backbone of these CSOs at the forefront of the quest to build a more equitable, sustainable, and decent society.

What work do these foundations do? How do they do it? How much success have they achieved in Nigeria? What challenges do they face? What will Nigerian society be like without them?

Coming to 90MinutesAfrica today, December 4, 2022, at 4.30 PM West African Time and 10.30 AM Eastern US Time is Dr. Kole Shettima, Africa Director, MacArthur Foundation.

He will discuss the role of civil society organizations in ensuring credible elections in Nigeria.

Pa Ikhide takes down Gov. Nasir el Rufai, his son, Bashir, African intellectuals & Others.

Reacting to Bashir el Rufai's tweet on the passing of Queen Elizabeth, Pa Ikhide called Bashir one of those poorly educated young people who spew illiterate stuff. "Why is Tinubu remotely qualified to be our president?" asked Pa Ikhide while discussing presidential candidates for the 2023 election. "Why is Atiku remotely qualified to be our president?" In an exclusive interview with 90MinutesAfrica, writer and critic carpeted African intellectuals for chasing clout. "African scholars are largely irrelevant to Africa, every one of them," he said to host Rudolf Okonkwo. "The only time we hear from them is when they have these outbursts."
