The Empowerment programme for farmers through the National Adopted Village for Smart Agriculture (NAVSA) has commenced today in Dutse , Jigawa State.

50 students were selected from the departments of Animal Science, Agric Extension and Rural Development, Agric Economics and Agribusiness, Crop Science as well as Forestry and Wildlife, Federal University, Dutse for this year’s 2024 AGTECH Capacity Building programme.

This initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of boosting agriculture to achieve food security by leveraging technology to support farmers and enhance agricultural practices in Nigeria

In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's commitment to provide an enabling environment for Nigeria's youth to flourish in the digital era, the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr Bosun Tijani, alongside Director General of NITDA, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, engaged with Community Managers of the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Initiative drawn from 36 States of the Federation and the FCT for Orientation Programme at Fraiser Suites, Abuja.

3MTT programme, a critical part of the Renewed Hope Agenda, is aimed at building Nigeria’s technical talent backbone to power our digital economy and position Nigeria as a net talent exporter.

The engagement was nothing short of electrifying. The managers were enthralled by the vision of the federal government in cultivating talent and promoting inclusive growth.

Portuguese professional football manager, José Mourinho, has expressed his support for the Nigerian Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, ahead of the African Cup of Nations final match, stating that "never has a Portuguese coach won the African Cup."

The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager stated this during an interview with FIVEUK which was shared on the medium's X handle on Sunday.

Mourinho said, "My best friend in football is in the final. The Nigerian coach is my best friend. He grew up with me. We studied together. We went to university on the same day. We spent five years together every day. We left at the same time. He is probably my biggest friend in football.

"Jose (Peseiro), my big friend, and for him a huge opportunity to make history because never has a Portuguese coach won the African Cup."

The Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire will meet in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Final at 9pm (Nigerian time) on Sunday.
