JOINT NIGERIAN ARMY, POLICE TROOPS NEUTRALIZE IPOB/ESN COMBATANTS IN ABIA, ENUGU ENCOUNTERS ... Burst hideouts, Recover Artillery Guns

Joint troops of 82 Division Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Police have neutralized 3 combatants of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed affiliate, Eastern Security Network (ESN) in a fierce encounter that ensued during a clearance operation in the early hours of Monday 18 September 2023 at Igboro Forest, between Arochukwu and Ohafia Local Government Areas of Abia state.

On winning the fire fight, the troops wasted no time
destroying several hideous camps used by members of the groups to perpetrate heinous crimes.

The camps were uncovered, after several weeks of credible surveillance revealed that IPOB/ESN were using the forest as a combat training ground for their members and as a base for planning and launching attacks on targeted civilians, security operatives and government facilities in the state.

On further exploiting the camp, the gallant troops recovered several weapons and ammunition, amongst others. The Items recovered include One improvised 16 Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) Gun mounted on a vehicle, One improvised 12 MBRL Gun, One improvised 6 MBRL Gun, One AK 47 Rifle, One Dane Gun, 6 locally made Rocket Launchers, four Improvised Explosive Devices, five Fragmental Jackets, One Baofeng Radio, Military Camouflage Uniforms and several assorted charms.

In a similar development that also took place in the early hours of today, 18 September 2023, same troops of 82 Division NA in synergy with the Nigerian Police Force, acting on credible intelligence busted IPOB/ESN hideout at Ezioha Mgbowo in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu state.
The armed fighters were perfecting plans to enforce the illegal sit-at-home order in the area, when the vigilant troops swooped on them.

The armed fighters, who opened fire on sighting troops approaching their camp were however defeated in the fire fight that followed, as the troops responded with overwhelming fire power, neutralizing three of the fighters, while others fled in disarray. The troops recovered three Pump Action Guns and 10 Machetes from the fleeing fighters.

Members of the public are implored to continue to support the Nigerian Army and other security agencies with credible information to enhance the fight against terrorism insurgency and other criminal activities.

Igbo youths demand apologies from Soludo, IGP over assault on Odumeje

The Coalition of South East Youth Leaders, COSEYL, has demanded an immediate apology from the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, and the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba over an assault on Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, also known as Odumeje by officers of the Nigerian police.

DAILY POST recalls that Odumeje’s church, Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha was demolished on Thursday for being built on a drainage channel.

The clergy was then assaulted by security operatives when he attempted to intervene during the demolition exercise.

Reacting, COSEYL, in a statement issued by its President General, Goodluck Ibem condemned the physical assault on the controversial prophet.

The coalition said the assault on the man of God is an insult taken too far, saying it is “wicked, barbaric, villainous, senseless and condemnable”.

“The policemen that were hitting and manhandling Odumeje have no right or power to do so. It is purely unlawful and an outright disrespect to the Nigerian constitution which gives Odumeje the right to human dignity.

“The policemen and the entire members of the taskforce team crossed the line in whatever they thought was their assignment. The infringement on Odumeje’s rights to liberty and human dignity will not be entertained.

“If these policemen and the entire taskforce team have the effrontery to manhandle Odumeje in such a manner, it then means that the ordinary people who have no voice or anyone to speak for them will be killed and buried without any trace to their co**se (s).

“We demand the immediate arrest and prosecution of the policemen and the taskforce team involved in such a shameful and despicable act on a highly respected Man of God.

“We demand an immediate apology from Governor Chukwuma Soludo and the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba over the manhandling of Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, a.k.a Odumeje”.

ZENDA ARREST FOUR CRIMINALS WITH 300 LIVE AMMUNITION IN BENUE STATE.

Men of Operation Zenda JTF has arrested four criminals with 300 live ammunition in Makurdi the Benue state capital.

Investigation shows that Policemen on "stop and search" arrested Mr Terhile who was transporting 180 bullets to Ikyogen, kwande local Government on Dura bridge in Buruku local Government, he allegedly said the bullets are meant for one commander In Cameroon.

Mr Terhile took Zenda operatives to Mr Emmanuel a security officer with StandBIC Bank in Gboko who gave the first suspect the consignment, he claimed he had received two millionaire from a client through his Standbic Bank account to purchase the bullets.

Mr Terhile and Mr Emmanuel then led men of Operation Zenda to vandeikya were they picked a former Councillor Titus Ikyo in Mbaduku and traced another suspect to makurdi and arrested him with 120 bullets totaling 300.

Briefing Newsmen at the Police command in makurdi, SP Sewuese Anene said efforts are in top gear to unravel the source of the ammunition and called on the General Public to be vigilant and report any suspected activities around their environment to the law enforcement agency to protect them better.
