🗣️"I have watched AFCON more than European football. They are simply teaching us to be honest. In AFCON, VAR is used exactly the way it should be used.

"They do not use it to help the money magnet teams or famous teams. This is why you saw the best out of every team . Because they know VAR is not hired behind the scenes but is for everyone.

"They listen even to their Players if the Ref missed something and go check.

"In Europe, if I as a coach or a player plead with a ref to go check something, it is a red card for doing that. The headquarters for VAR needs to be in CAF" .

AFCON 2023: Ademola Lookman broke the deadlock four minutes before half time to give the Super Eagles a 1-0 win against Angola to qualify to the semi-final in the ongoing AFCON. With the win Nigeria makes her 16 times semi-final appearances in 19 tournaments.

Victor Osimhen tense pressure on the opponent defense paid off as Jean-Charles Castelletto failed to cope with the energy of the Napoli striker before Osimhen pass found Lookman to sink the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon.

My successful emergence as the Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament is a testimony of your encouragement both as a club and individual support. I want to appreciate my teammates of Gwogwo United- Team A for their support on the field and off- the pitch. Your love is immeasurable and I can only say thank you as I do appreciate. You are indelible galvanisers!

I want to also thank the End of The Year Organising Committee for the successful, well organised event.

For the children and parents that came to the party, I love you all, I pray 2024 will be a better year for everyone of us.

The final squad is expected to be submitted on the 3rd of January, 2024.
