Nigeria’s federal government has charged Leo Stan Ekeh, chairman of Zinox Group, his wife, Chioma and 11 other suspects to court over alleged N170.3 million contract fraud. On September 9, 2022, Human Rights lawyer, Femi Falana, filed a 17-count charge against the suspects in suit No. FCT/HC/CR/469/2022 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory. The charge was filed on behalf of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, following the approval he granted to Falana’s request for fiat/powers to prosecute the suspects....

A resident of Iree, Osun State, Muritala Afolabi, on Friday, sustained serious injuries after setting himself ablaze. An Ikeja Special Offences Court on Thursday sentenced a 52-year-old- man, Akin Isaac, to 21 years for ra**ng his 18-year–old daughter for 12 years in Lagos State. Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo sentenced the convict to 21 years imprisonment following his plea of guilty to the one count preferred against him by the Lagos State Government.
