Meet Nnamdi Ezeigbo the Owner of Tecno, Infinix and Slot Nigeria.

Nnamdi Ezeigbo was born on 4 August 1966 in Sapele, Delta State, into the family of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Ezeigbo. The entrepreneur, who is currently 56 years old, is of the Igbo Nation, and he hails from Nsukwe in Ubakala, Umuahia in Abia State.

His mother was a petty trader who sold bread, and Nnamdi was always around after school to help her out in hawking bread, while his father’s occupation is unknown. He is the first out of the nine children of his parents. Coming from a humble background, he grew alongside his other siblings under the care of their parents.

The 56-year-old entrepreneur has modified his brands to suit the people’s choice, making it one of the fast-selling and affordable brands in the country. Currently, his brand has over 43 outlets all over Nigeria and has served as a means of curbing unemployment so far. The brand has been known to be among the best in supplying electronic gadgets and gadget accessories such as phones, laptops, iPads, laptops, and other electronic devices.

Nnamdi Ezigbo spent most of his early years in Delta State. He obtained his primary education at Pamol Primary School, Sapele, Delta State. Having a passion for education, he further obtained his secondary education at Ogini Grammar School in Abraka, Delta State, receiving his senior school certificate in 1984.

In 1988, he enrolled at Yaba College of Technology, specializing in Engineering, having a good knowledge of sciences, especially physics and mathematics. He graduated with a Higher National Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering. In 1996, he proceeded for his National Youth Service Corps, having his place of primary assignment to be the Nigerian Brewery under the Guinness Nigeria PLC.

Being a person who aspires for the best, he enrolled at Lagos State University in 1996 to study Computer and Electronics Engineering. In 2001, he graduated with second-class upper honors. He furthered to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology at Ogbomosho, Oyo State, where he bagged his master’s degree in information and management technology. The entrepreneur moved on to Lagos Business School, where he obtained an MBA. Having greatness in mind and determination, he proceeded to Havard Business school, where he also graduated.

On graduating from the university, Nnamdi Ezeigbo could not secure a job, so he registered as an apprentice to learn how to repair computers. The deal lasted for six months as he could not continue with his boss as he was after money rather than having a good relationship with customers. He moved down to Lagos to perch with a friend, where he had lots of customers. The entrepreneur also diversified into phone accessories when it was introduced into Nigeria.

Being someone who counts on having good relationships with customers, he was helped by one of his customers in acquiring a bigger shop. The customer helped him with printers which he sold to acquire a bigger shop to stand on his own. Nnamdi, who is hardworking, didn’t take time to raise funds to pay the shop’s rent, which was N180,000, and continued with his normal business.

Nnamdi Ezeigbo started expanding his business and customer base and bought over the shop he rented previously for 100 million and launched his business Slot. The business enterprise, which was launched, sold phones and phone accessories, laptops, and other gadgets. Though he was making it big then, he still moved ahead to develop himself properly.

Today, Slot is seen in states like Lagos, Abuja, Rivers State, Enugu, Oyo, Akwa Ibom, Ondo, Kwara, Cross River, Osun, Delta, Ekiti, Edo, Abia, Imo, Kano, Ogun, Anambra, with over 40 branches. Today, the slot company doesn’t sell only the Infinix and Tecno products; they also sell other brands such as Vivo, Itel, Redmi, Oppo, and many more.

The entrepreneur is no doubt someone that aspires for the best as he set out to produce his phone brand in the 2000s. Seeing that the masses possessed more phones to use various networks, he set out to produce a dual sim phone. The entrepreneur met with Nokia phones to carry out his business idea but was turned down because of their gain in people buying different phones. Though it was discouraging, he still pushed on till he met someone who had worked in the Bird phone company during one of his business trips to China. The business tycoon didn’t hesitate to bring the technology personal down to Nigeria to register and produce a dual sim phone named Tecno.

The first production, the Tecno T101, wasn’t accepted in the market by Nigerians because it had issues with the sim working together on the same phone. This made him develop the second version of Tecno T201. This second version was a bit accepted by the market but delayed him in profits because he gave them out on credit. As of 2007, the want for the Tecno product rose, which made him produce more phones and equally advanced. Today, the Tecno phone has many models, and the purchase of the product is equally on its rise as almost everyone in Nigeria has one way or the other used the product.

The emergence of Tecno in the market did not take time before it became a household name and users all over the country. This also gave rise to the introduction of the Infinix phone to meet the demands of the higher, middle, and lower classes in Nigeria.

Recently, Infinix and Tecno have been among the most sought-after mobile devices in the market today. These mobile devices have been modified to suit the demands of every Nigerian this day, and his outlet, SLOT, has been a major dealer across the country.

Nnamdi met his wife, Nkechi Ezeigbo, for the first time at an Ikeja bus stop, Lagos State, before they took things to the next level after a few encounters. The wife of the entrepreneur is from the Igbo-speaking part of Delta State. She also started the business with her husband and is currently a shareholder in the company. The duo tied the knot in 1998 and has welcomed four children together since then. Nnamdi and Nkechi Ezeigbo are blessed with three sons and a daughter.

what really happened in Aburi that led to the Nigerian Civil War?
after the first military coup that installed Major-General Johnson Thomas Umunnakwe Aguiyi-Ironsi (1924-1966) as the first military Head of State of the country on 16th January 1966, the Northern soldiers had started planning, by May 1966, the revenge of their leaders who had been murdered in January. 194 days after taking office, Aguiyi-Ironsi was murdered in a Northern counter-coup on 29th July 1966 and for three days, the nation had no leader til Lt. Col. Yakubu Gowon was installed on 1st August 1966. the immediate significance of the second coup was that it forced a return to an ethnic balance within the Army as neither the major ethnic groups, Hausa or Yoruba, was placed in power but a minor ethnic group from the Northern Region in present-day Plateau State. in the confusion that followed the second coup d’état, the slender confidence that remained between the Igbo and the Northerners was shattered. Disturbances broke out in the East but even more so in the North after 1st August 1966. 24th September 1966 was marked by serious disturbances in several Northern cities where thousands of Southern civilians, mostly of Igbo origin, were reportedly assaulted and many killed. Northern authorities imposed dawn-to-dusk curfews on the cities. six days later on 30th September, widespread violence again erupted after 25 Easterners were shot at the Kano Airport by Northern soldiers stationed there. the mass killings of Igbo in the North were a deplorable act that was condemned by Nigerians, including the Military Governors. with the counter-coup of July 29, 1966, the political development of Nigeria’s federal structure took a different turn. It was accentuated even more by the fact that the Eastern Region Government in Enugu immediately threatened secession if certain grievances and demands were not met. the immediate concern of the Federal Government, therefore, was for it to find ways to appease the East so long as such concessions were within the framework of one Nigeria. but the Eastern Military Governor, Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (1933-2011), refused to leave the East for any meeting anywhere in Nigeria because, he claimed, he was not safe outside the East. the Federal Government too argued that the Nigerian leader should also not go to the East for a meeting. his life, they also claimed, was not safe there either. tension mounted and Lieutenant-General Joseph Arthur Ankrah (1915-1992) of Ghana offered a neutral meeting place. the venue was Aburi, Ghana

When Ahmadu Bello tried to implement his Northernization Policy, this gallant young Igbo lad struck. Many do not know but Ahmadu Bello’s Northernization Policy was not just for the North but for the entire Nigeria. The Northernization Policy was the political term for Bello’s statement in 1957:

“𝑾𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒖𝒕𝒉 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒅𝒊𝒑 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑲𝒐𝒓𝒂𝒏 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒄 𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑩𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒔𝒉 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒔"

True to his words, when Nigeria got it’s independence from Britain in 1960s and Bello’s puppet Tafawa Balewa was rigged into office by the Brits before the left as the Prime Minister of Nigeria the Northernization agenda started. Balewa was Prime Minister so he had control of the Federal Armed Forces including the police. Had it not been for this young, brave, intelligent, and gallant Igbo man going to the North and grabbing the bull by the horn Igboland could have been looking like Borno or Ilorin right now. Major thanks to this hero and warrior from Okpanam, Anioma.

Despite all the atrocities of David, Jesus proudly bore the name "Jesus, son of David". Did you hear Jesus talking about ancestral curses? Or is David no longer his ancestor? Today none many of us proudly bear the name David but cannot proudly identify with their own ancestors.

Unless you remove your cloak of dignity by yourself, no one can remove it from you. Until you despise yourself no one can succeed in despising you. Unless you condemn yourself, no one can condemn you.

This of course does not mean that the mistakes or evil deeds of our ancestors should be emulated, praised or denied.

If you are poor and hungry, your ancestors are not to blame. You are suffering because we have a bad government.

Any day you will find yourself in a country where government does its job, you will realize that what you are suffering from is bad government, and not ancestral curse.

Igbo People That Once Denied Their Igboness And Why They Acted That Way:

When talking about Igbo people, most people often referred to the people of South Eastern Nigeria which includes Abia, Anambara, Ebonyi, Enugu and Imo states.

But Igbo is like "akwụkwọ ụkpaka" they spread throughout southern Nigeria to the Niger-Delta and northern Nigeria.

Experts on the origin and origins of the area explain, that Igbos have a population across the Naija River where more than 25 percent of Delta State's population is said to be Igbo.

Similarly in Rivers, Cross Riva, Akwa-Ibom and Bayelsa are among where you can find Igbo people, Igbos in those areas share many things in common with Igbos in south east, these include language, culture and fashion. This simply means that "ọbara anaghị agha ụgha". These show that blood does not lie.

These are people with Igbo identity, language and beliefs, that include circumcision, reincarnation and celebrating of Kola nut:

In Delta State, ethnic Igbo include:

1.Oshimili

2. Ndokwa

3. Ukwuani

4. Aniocha

5. Ika

6.Ndoni

7. Agbo

8. Asaba

In Rivas state, Igbo people in Rivas include;

1. Ikwerre

2. Opobo

3. Omuma

4. Ndoni

5. Obigbo

6. Egbema

7.Ekpeye

8. Ọmụma

10. Etche

11. Ọgba

In Bayelsa, people with Igbo blood in Bayelsa state mainly Sagbama region include;

1.Osekwenike

2. Eke Okpokri

3. Abuetor

In Edo state

It sounds like a myth, but there are Igbo there

1. Igbanke/Igboakiri

That's why you can see some people from Edo state bearing Igbo names .

In Akwa-Ibom state

The Igbo people there included people of

1. Ikot Udo Ika is under the Ika local government, in Akwaibom State.

In Cross Rivas

1. Isobo in Abi LGA

2 Umuezekaoha numbering more than 300 village.

In Benue state

Are you among the people that regard all Benue people as "Ndị Ugwu"’? Note that there are Igbos in Benue state. Igbo communities there can be found in these LGA

1. Okpoku

2 .. Obi

3. Oku

4. Adọ

5. Oju

In Kogi State

Igbo-speaking communities in Kogi state especially in Ibaji and Igalamela/Odolu LGAs such as the Eke Avurugo community (which speaks Igbo as first language and Igala as second language).

These are igbo communities in kogi state : Ugwuebonyi, Ebokwe, Ozara, Amaeke, Amankpo, Amauwani camp, Amaokwu, Amadiefioha, Amaufulu, etc. all in Igalamela/Odolu LGA. The Odolu community in Igalamela/Odolu LGA is said to speak Igala as first language and the Nsukka Igbo dialect as second language. In Ibaji LGA, we can see some town names such as Nwajala, Umuoye, Ubulie-Umueze which are, most definitely, Igbo community names. One obvious distinguishing factor between Igbo language and Igala is the lack of 'z' in Igala alphabet which is present in Igbo, which possibly rules out an Igala origin for some towns such as Ozara, Umueze etc.

Akpanya is an Igbo-speaking community located deep in the heartland of Igala land. Very little is known about this town. About 95% of the people speak Igbo/are Igbo natives.

Reasons why some Igbo people say that, they are not Igbo:

1. The Biafra war

Some Igbo denied their Igbo root because of loosing of civil war.

We loose the war, despite it was declared no Victor no vanquish.
The war claimed the lives of over three million Igbo people. As people who loose the war,is hardly for people to identify with you.
"Onye dara ada enweghị onye na-ekwe na ọ bụ nwanne ya"

"After the war, the Igbo people suffered a lot and contracted a disease that caused them to be ostracized."

2 The creation of a state

It is during creation of the state that federal government use the opportunity to split Igbos and ceded them in other regions, with these act and removal of history from Nigeria schools,it makes many igbos to denied their origin.

Examples: Some towns like Amaezekwe, Umuoghara, Amaekka, Umuezeokoha, Umuezeoka, Oriuzor, Umuoghara are not eligible to be in Benue state but are assigned to Benue state.
The Ado, Oju, Obi sub-igbo Towns in Benue state is an independent Towns before whites came to Nigeria

Recall that to ensure that Ojukwu was weak at the beginning of the Biafran War, then-Nigerian President Yakubu Gowon created 12 states and three regions in Nigeria, on May 5, 1967.
Through this creation of States. It affect the way in which the Igbos used to live together as brothers in the "Eastern Region" which was divided through creation of Rivers

3. Legend Story

Many Igbo people in Rivers do not believe in the sacraments associated with the Igbo people because of their ancient stories.

But some Igbos in the Rivers and some Delta states say that, they migrated from Bini in Edo state to where they now live.

"If your region has nothing, in common, with Igbos, then Igbo people will not say we are brothers." Remember Igbo have Igala in their State and as their neighbours but they have never claimed that Igala are Igbos.

Mana e tere ogiri, e tere ụgba we respect everyone choice, despite the fact that we share many things in common, some people in these areas still believe that they are not Igbos, and referred to other ethnic groups as to where they came from, their language, culture and drama show that their blood is Igbo.

The fact is that a Ijaw people and Ogoni people in Rivers State are trying so hard to re write history in Rivers State, they are trying their best to dominate Igbos in the region, while most of the Igbos there could not read the hand writing in the wall.

Mystery Behind Igbo origin

The origin of the igbo people of Nigeria is one of the most mysterious aspect of Nigerian history. However there are 3 legends of origin. Most people only one of the legends and Unfortunately thats the last of the 3rd preferred legends of origin.

1.The first and most preferred by foremost igbo historians is AUTHOCHTHONY. Here, the people claim to be aborigines, without knowledge of coming from anywhere. The time ,where and how they came about is lost to human memory. There migration or evolution happened in the days of yore that can only be traced by archeology.

2.The second is a return or an inward shift from neighboring kingdoms. Igbos, being one of the earliest settlers in the forest region of west Africa had long migrated and settled to different places outside there cultural areas. Alot of them returned back to the centre (reverse migration) when they faced hostilities by there neighbours. (The idu reverse migration is an example). These returning Igbo migrants met Aboriginal igbos speaking people when they arrived back to east and Delta north). The term "Onitsha Ado na idu" is a reflection that Idu was part of igbos original settlement down to the Niger and across .The remanants of those early igbo settlements represents the Igbankes in Edo state currently .

3.The 3rd and last, but favored by some people is the Isreal origin. This was the case because of the various cultural practices observed among igbos that can be likened to the Jewish practices. The first person to describe igbos as Jews was an igbo freed slave Olaudah Equiano born 1745..and then GT Basden (among the igbos of Nigeria). However a DNA test done few years ago gave a negative result, which further confirms the first legend of origin of igbos being aborigines and original African stuck.
