According to a new draft recommendation statement, the US Preventive Services Task Force recommends that all women at average risk of breast cancer begin screening at the age of 40 to lower their risk of dying from the disease.
It is an update to the task force's 2016 recommendation that biennial mammograms, which are x-rays of the breast, begin at the age of 50 and that the decision for women to screen in their 40s "should be an individual one."
Some organizations, such as the American Cancer Society, have previously suggested that women begin mammograms in their forties...

After serving five years in prison for assisting a neighbor, a guy speaks up. Samuel Akibinu described his five-year prison sentence for supporting his friend and neighbor, Isaac Michael.

He claimed that his friend had asked him to help with the lodging of a lady named Favour, whom he had introduced to him as his sister, despite the fact that his friend was not related to the lady.

According to Akibinu, the lady fled with his money and valuables, and the lady's father accused him of defiling his daughter four months later. He claimed he was accused with kidnapping and defilement.

He claimed he was sentenced to five years in prison before an NGO came to his rescue and secured his release.

This was the scene at Lagos International Airport earlier on Monday, when a coalition of aviation workers' unions went on a two-day warning strike in protest of the failure to release the new Condition of Service (CoS) in the last seven years.

The unions, which include the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE), the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN), and others, are condemning the Nigerian Meteorological Agency's non-implementation of minimum wage consequential adjustments and arrears since 2019, as well as the Minister of Aviation's planned demolition of all the agency's buildings in Lagos for an airport city project without considering the workers' rights.
