MILITARY COUP IN GABON 🇬🇦

Army officers have appeared on national television in Gabon🇬🇦 to say they have taken power.

They said they were annulling the results of Saturday's election, in which President Ali Bongo was declared the winner.

The electoral commission said Mr Bongo had won just under two-thirds of the votes in an election the opposition argued was fraudulent.

His overthrow would end his family's 53-year hold on power in Gabon🇬🇦.

Twelve soldiers appeared on television announcing they were cancelling the results of the election and dissolving "all the institutions of the republic".

One of the soldiers said on TV channel Gabon 24: "We have decided to defend peace by putting an end to the current regime."

This, he added, was down to "irresponsible, unpredictable governance resulting in a continuing deterioration in social cohesion that risks leading the country into chaos".

Mr Bongo came to power when his father Omar died in 2009.

In 2018, he suffered a stroke which sidelined him for almost a year and lead to calls for him to step aside.

The following year, a failed coup attempt saw mutinying soldiers sent to prison.

We Return N40,000 Daily To Our Madam – Anambra S*x Workers Confess

Twelve female s*x workers rescued in a brothel, Happiness Guest Inn, Amawbia, Awka LGA of Anambra State have confessed that they made between N10,000 and N40,000 daily from their clients.

The victims, between the ages of 15 to 25 years said they were mandated to return the sum of N10,000 to N15,000 each night and N40,000 on Sundays, while each man they slept with paid them N1,000 and above.

Narrating their ordeal, the victims said they were brought to Awka by one Ifeoma and Chika from their house in Izza, Ebonyi State on the promise of securing job for them but were later forced into prostitution.

One of them said, “The women who brought us to the brothel, seized our phones and other belongings before handing us over to another woman called Ezenwannyi who notified us that before we will be released, we must bring the sum of N150,000 or serve her for a period of one year.

“We were able to use a whistle blowers phone to get across to our family and the whistle blower in turn notified the Ministry of Women and Social Welfare Anambra State. who with the help of the police bursted the brothel.”

One of the victims’ parents, Mrs Uchechi Friday said immediately her daughter got missing, she lodged a complaint at the Police station in Abakaliki.

“I was shocked when I got a call from my daughter which made me to seek help from the Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare,” she said.

Appreciating the Commissioner for her prompt response, Uchechi urged other parents to always be at alert of their children’s welfare and whereabout.

Reacting, Commissioner for Women Affairs, Ify Obinabo restated government’s resolve in ending all forms of child kidnap, trafficking and s*xual slavery in the state.

She warned hotel owners to desist from using underage girls in running their businesses or face the law, assuring that the case which had already received attention of Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo would

How Nigerian Military Officer Lost His Life Along Plank Bridge In Ebonyi

A Nigerian Army officer has reportedly lost his life in an auto crash which occurred along the road Leading to the home of senator elect, Ebonyi north zone, Barrister Onyeyichi Nwebonyi.

He was said to be driving a Sienna car with a number plate EKY10B, Lagos line, whose name was given as Friday Nwokpor Ogbulemini has been reported dead following the auto-crash which took place on Ogbogbo Ekebeligwe Ishieke bridge in Ebonyi LGA of Ebonyi State.

Our source, Uche Okeagu, a commercial motorcyclist, said, Friday Nwokpor Ogbulemini, was in his car on that fateful Saturday night while driving from Nwori Isophumini Mbeke Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA to Ezza North LGA of the Ebonyi State.

Unfortunately, Friday when reached the Ogbogbo River, which has a fatal wooden bridge could not control his vehicular speed and fell off the bridge and his car turned upside down, while inside it with his younger brother, Chinedu Nwokpor Ogbulemini who sustained severe injuries during the incident.

Okeagu revealed that the driver and his younger brother were rushed to the hospital immediately but unfortunately, the former later died, whereas, the latter is still receiving treatment in the hospital.

He also disclosed that Friday's corps has been deposited in the mortuary at Alex Ekwueme Federal Teaching Hospital (AEFETHA 1).

Another source, Chief Lazarus Nwoyibe, the village head of Ekebeligwe Mbeke Ishieke in Ebonyi LGA, lamented the terrible condition of the Ogbogbo bridge where the motor accident took place.

He noted that the bridge links Mbeke Development Centre and its Ebonyi counterpart, saying many lives have been lost at the spot due to its fatal condition, especially during the rainy season.

The community leader said his Ekebeligwe Ishieke village people spend not less than 2 million Naira yearly to rebuild the bridge to stave off its breakdown or being carried out by the river/flood.
