It's no longer news that cost of raw materials, goods and services are on the rise.

But as you consider raising prices, thoughts of customers saying:

"Kilode! it's too expensive!"

is giving you headaches and sleepless nights 🤕

You are even tempted to lash out in anger,

"Are you not in this country!?"😡

So, what can you do?

1. Evaluate ALL your costs based on the current market situation and projections.

2. Estimate a comfortable profit margin on your products/services.

3. Have a variety of product / service packages that customers can choose from.

4. Most importantly maintain effective communication with customers and prospects both online and offline.

Inform them in advance about how and why there is need for a price change and be quick to project The Value of Your Products and Services and the Benefits (Transformation) they will enjoy.

Honestly, I know how you feel. There was a time I didn't like writing too.

I asked myself questions like:

"Will people read it?"
"What if they don't like it?'

The truth is the more you write, the more you discover your uniqueness and the more your confidence grows.

And the beauty of copywriting is that it gives you the ability to create different kinds of content that persuades an audience to take action.

You don't need to write big grammar, but you do need to be:

1. Clear and Concise

2. Conversational and

3. Evoke the right emotions.

I got a few messages asking which skills are necessary for one to possess or acquire in order to stand-out in their field.

Well I'd say it depends on a few factors:
For instance:

Are you an employee, entrepreneur or business owner?

Which market or niche do you operate?

What are the KPI's (key performance indicators) in that niche/market?

What do you desire to achieve?

And so on.

The answers to these questions will point you in the direction of the kind of skills you need have and/or sharpen.

These could range from Communication skills, Networking skills, Digital Marketing skills etc

It's okay to feel stuck, not knowing where to start from or how to begin again.

But it's dangerous to stay at the point for long.

We will never forget what happened on 20.10.20 and the days following. Never.

But we must Move On.

What I have learnt having lost both parents and my 6 years old daughter, is that Life Continues.

So do not loose hope or give up on yourself, your business or this Nation. I can assure you that things will not remain the same in Nigeria. Our voices were heard and God has began to do A New Thing.

I pray for all the survivors, that God will keep you strong and grant you health and healing.

I pray for those whose businesses were looted and properties destroyed, God will restore all that was lost.

May the souls of the departed rest in peace and may the Lord give comfort and strength to all their loved ones in Jesus'name, Amen.

Let us continue to support and encourage each other in the coming days.

In last couple of months, I've come to learn that if you truly want to succeed in life and business, you have to Build for the future.

1. Have a written down strategy for growth and challenge yourself to hit your milestones.

2. Don't put yourself under pressure by measuring your success with others. Your circumstances are not the same.

3. Be humble enough to learn from others and smart enough to differentiate yourself.

4 Think Deep and Wide:
▪️What are the challenges my target market are facing now?
▪️What do I learn now that will make me irresistible to them in the next 5 years?

5. Always remember your 'Why', because what matters the most is the impact you make in the lives of others.

My 'Secret Sauce' 👩‍🍳

No, it's not Maggi cubes or Knorr chicken 😄😄😄

"Ox cubes?"

Hold up, I'll tell you later.

Food aside though. I've come to realize that every recipe of life and business needs a 'Secret Sauce'. Whether you work for a company, have a side hustle or run your own business.

So what is your 'Secret Sauce'?

What makes you irresistible?

What sets you apart from the crowd?

If you don't bring anything of value to the table you're not ready for that promotion, raise or sale.

I mean, there has to be a reason why people should buy the clothes, shoes, hair or jewelry you are selling.

Is there something different you are doing for one to patronise your laundry, food or logistics business, instead of the next person?

Think about it.

Today, take time to discover your 'Secret Sauce and when you have done so,

It was a quiet Monday afternoon. A cool wind was blowing in the over-populated suburb of Ikeja, Lagos.

Janet could hear the ‘call to prayer’ coming from the minaret of the local mosque down the road.

The kids were watching TV as usual. Her constant reminders that “Schools will re-open soon”, was now a big bell that had lost its chime.

She checked her WhatsApp to see if there were any messages. There was None.
Checked her Emails, Nada...

Even checked text messages for bank alert.

Nothing.

"What am I doing wrong?", She asked herself in frustration.......................................................
