BAT started with disappointment by prioritising politics over governance. A government that decided to embarrass El-rufai simply because of 2027,2031 that is yet to come......his portfolio was given to clueless Bayo Adelabu a banker to handle Power ministry, and instead of improving, the national grid keeps collapsing regularly....one would have expected a serious government to put round pegs in round holes....but the formation of this cabinet shows that most of the cabinet members were compensated.....a government that wants to get things right will not toy with the power sector......most of the state governors are not helping issues too...they are rather joining us to complain about bad policies.... there's nothing to defend....the northern governors appear more responsive and compassionate than the southern governors.....this country is on a looooooooooong thing

Always verify all ..The Chinese didn't escape from Quarantine

The management of Air Peace has declared that three members of its flight crew did not abscond from the quarantine facility provided by the Lagos state government as reported by a Newspaper (Not Nigerian Tribune).

A newspaper had earlier reported that three crew members of the Air Peace flight that airlifted medical supplies and Chinese medical personnel, operated by Boeing B777-200 ER (P4 5-NBVE), which arrived the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja on April 8, 2020, absconded from the quarantine facility in Lagos.

According to the Chief Operating Officer of Air Peace, Mrs Toyin Olajide, all the crew that operated the flight, which includes six pilots, eight cabin crew, two engineers and one dispatch officer are still quarantined under the supervision of the Lagos state government.

Olajide explained that at the onset of the flight to China, the crew was tested for COVID-19 and each member tested negative and the airline followed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) protocol to ensure that its crew members were protected from exposure to the virus.

She said that on arrival at Beijing airport, none of the crew members came out of the aircraft while the aircraft was loaded with medical supplies and the Chinese medical team boarded the aircraft from the central door and stayed in the business class cabin and the flight left for Nigeria.

She also explained that the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) approved standard protocol to protect flight crew during the COVID-19 pandemic and NCAA adopted it, adding that it is this protocol that Air Peace followed in conducting the flight to Beijing.

Olajide said that the crew members did not know that they would be quarantined on arrival and when the aircraft landed in Abuja and concerned authorities suggested it, Air Peace argued against it because it followed NCAA protocol in conducting the flight, so the discussion on it was inconclusive when the flight headed to Lagos.

“But the airline learnt later that while the flight was airborne to Lagos, Abuja had directed the Lagos state government to quarantine the crew; so on arrival, while the engineers and the dispatcher went down to the foot of the aircraft to secure it, the Lagos state government health team took the pilots and the cabin crew to quarantine.

“Ignorant that they would be quarantined, the engineers and the dispatcher finished their work and went home, but later the Lagos state government contacted Air Peace and said that the engineers and the dispatcher ought to be quarantined and we called them and they went to the quarantine facility and they have been there since then.

“So the report that indicated that members of our crew ran away from quarantine is not true. It is a report written in bad taste and it is not good because the crew did a heroic thing and needed to be commended instead of being vilified,” Olajide said.

Open Letter To Gov Sheyi Makinde...series 2

Dear Gov Sheyi Makinde, I hope you are in good health as we pray for you to fully recover soonest.

Listening to Edmund Obilo on State Affairs last saturday further strengthen my assertions that governance in Oyo state might just be "Soja-go-soja-come. A system of government which leaves no legacy after expiration. I strongly believe this government is based on 3 things which if sustained, you can even win a third term viz;
1.Respect the electorates
2.Pay salaries
3.Free education.
Are we really getting valuable education?
However I strongly believe there is more to governance that just cajoling the electorates and winning the hearts of the populace. We need giant strides Mr Governor.
You hit the ground running only to start crawling. I envy the Lagos state government's swift response to this COVID19 pandemic... There were proactive measures and contingency plan on ground even before a single case was recorded in Nigeria. I rushed out of Lagos state owing to your directive of interstate suspension, only to find out that you were joking.

You have to create a balance between what citizens consider to be of value and what is really of value in terms of governance. This is a significant distinction because what the people consider to be valuable may just be a perception of the short-term “stomach infrastructure” while the government must always think in terms of what will yield medium- and long-term institutional value to create distinctive good governance template that goes beyond the trivial achievements.

A case study is Gov Obaseki's Edo-BEST initiatives
Aimed at transforming the basic education sector,The teachers were trianed and equiped with Tablets and ICT gadgets, so by the time he will be completing his first tenure, the fist set of EDO-BEST students will be in SSS-ONE.The project recently earned the governor a national honour by the Nigeria union of Teachers (NUT). The feat has attracted the international community as the governments of Rwanda, Uganda and Tanzania have sent representatives at different times to Edo State to understudy the Edo-BEST initiative. Just recently, Lagos State Government adopted the Edo State Basic Education mode.

I understand you are a performer. But I think it is better to be a reformer. As that will have better impact on the electorates.Don't be carried away in all these eulogies and public praises. I was passing by Edo Specialist Hospital in Benin few months ago and I was totally amazed, I don't care who did it, but I am sure if not for UCH, we have nothing to write home about in healthcare. Can't we have a state owned five star specialist hospital in oyo state? I urge you to listen to Edmund Oblio's recent tragic experience while on admission at UCH before things were magically fixed because of his personality. Why do you think Abba Kyari ran to Lagos for treatment
More so, one of your aides said on state-Affairs (splashfm) last Saturday that your government just came on board. How long will that be an excuse. She could not specifically relate visible achievement to your administration. She was just busy eulogising and praising you as usual. Well, maybe we can just conclude that you have done wonderfully well already.

The first condition that makes for a successful reformer is courage. It requires administrative and political courage. It demands that the reformer must be willing to commit class su***de by visioneering on behalf of the citizens as it is obtainable in Edo.

Even though I might sound like an antagonist, sincerely I am very passionate about your success in particular and Oyo state in general. I really wish we can have an Oyo state that can compete as the best in Nigeria while we strive to be the best in South West.

Please initiate legacy project that keeps Makinde forever in the minds of those whose lives have been empowered to live the good life. Remember, tenure expires, but legacy lives on

Expect more check and balance Sir.

Your humble citizen.

Rasheed Oladipupo Makinde.

Here is a true life story as shared

So few months after my nysc around June 2011 or so, was still running around searching for job cause I don't like being idle.
One day,I was alone at home ,watching a movie when suddenly i heard a knock on our gate, not sure who jus wore a T-shirt and went to the get to see who.on opening I saw an elderly man ,I greeted him and he invited me to follow him to my next neighbor's house, according to him something was hapening there.
I joined him, cause I know the couple,d husband of d lady is a guy man so we do say hi hi ,talk football and walk our separate ways but I have NEVER entered their house cos I respect privacy a lot.
So on getting to the house d old man walked me straight to the kitchen and I was shocked to see the lady rolling on the floor ,crying and couldn't say a word. Shocked and confused I enquired from her ..haa madam what hapen naa? U dey fight with your Oga? Na him beat you? The man we came in together seemed more confused than myself.
And the shocker: you are the one, pointing at me while still lying on the floor and crying, u wanted to r**e me, that I help her neck until she almost passed out blablabla...
Because I was so sure of myself and thinking maybe she's confused and maybe still shocked from whomever she claimed came from behind trying to r**e her.the first thing I said was madam are u OK? One thing that surprises the old man was how composed I was ,no sign of fear of guilt in me.he asked her again madam are u sure u saw the person that attacked u? She still insisted it was me.
Madam u must be mad or maybe sick.oga am living this place.he begged me that they will investigate the matter.it was letter I knew the man was related to her husband.this man sensed the woman might be lying because the way he met me calm at home and how I was even ready to assist to get the culprit not until she called my name.
And guys to be sincere with you all,I don't even greet this lady, not sure why but I don't like her not to talk of allowing me to have any form of convo with her.
I couldn't even wait for my mum to close from work,I called her that I have a situation at home
When she finally came back home I explained all that happened, she was so furious. Sorry I forgot to say its an estate with each families in their respective flats.
So that night my mum and I went to the estate management to report the incident and the estate police were invited also.I wrote my statement . they were Invited the next day together with her husband,I can see the look of disbelieve in his eyes.am sure I disgust him.
She also wrote her statement, then investigation started.
The investigation panel consists of a pastor, very senior civil servants, and some personalities which I wouldn't want to mention.
We were warned that anybody found guilty will be handed over for prosecution and they will make sure that person serve a long sentence and the family will be ejected from the estate even if you are the owner cos its in their agreed does and don't. My mum was kinda scared and I assured her am innocent that God won't let us down especially she cos she has high Bp so I won't want anything that will agrevate her......
To be continued

So my cousin and her brother came to my house to spend the Christmas with us, she was just 11 and her brother, 6. I was roughly 17 at the time They stayed and left the same December. Things were going well until one day I came back home, my aunty was at home waiting for me(my parents were not yet ba...

I think something is definitely wrong with our reasoning here in nigeria, okay, let's say he tried to bomb the church, should his name be the bone of contention?
Is this how we should react to a failed terror attack? We didn't even ask his sponsors, his network, how he was recruited into the act, etc. we are just after his name..
This name checking of a thing is a serious sign of tribalism and religious stereotyping. It's holding us back as a people on the way of progress. It shows this country is not really one, the marriage don scatter since 1967, we are just deceiving ourselves.
We should look beyond the tribalism and religious nepotism if we want progress.
Why must everything be about Muslim/Christian, Hausa/Igbo/Yoruba/Fulani
What an underdeveloped thinking

Is Oyo State Running a Charity Organization???

Just when we were rejoicing the free education policy of Gov Sheyi Makinde
A 14 years old girl wanted to return to school coz she's being forced out of school like many others because of the rubbish policy of , she was told point blank that her Junior WAEC result could not be found, hence she has to go back to Primary 6.....so she basically has to waste extra 4 years all because of the school's negligence or laziness
These and many others are the kind of situations discouraging the masses from patronizing public organization, it's either they are too lazy to do their work of you have to grease their palm for them to perform their duty.
Same happened to a girl at Ogungbade Secondary school who has been repeated 3 times consecutively with the excuse that her report card could not be found
I have said it prior to this time and I will continue to say it.....Gov Sheyi Makinde's decision of satisfying these lazy workers at all cost is not worth it.....these so called workers need to be productive for crying out loud.
Imagine at State Health Office Jericho, the person who administers vaccine only comes on Friday
We should be able to differentiate between running a charity organization and a workforce.
GSM please clarify if Oyo State workforce is a charity organization,
If not, then they have to work for what they earn
Enough of dashing them money abeg!!!
Note: we understand how occupied you are, but we will keep calling your attention to things you can't believe are happening.

Open Letter to Governor Seyi Makinde

Dear Gov Seyi Makinde
I appreciate all the obvious wonderful work you have been doing since May 29.
However to be frank and candid, governance is not all about pleasing people,it is more about doing things that will ease the living condition of the populace.....
You've been paying salaries, completing the roads, investing more in the education sector but honestly, Ex Gov Ladoja did more than that, but look at where we are....I don't want to believe you were voted in to only repeat what has brought us to where we are presently
Here is my point:
Why is it that we cannot boast of self sufficiency?
Border was closed and we kept shouting Buhari, whereas Anambra state just launched a Cocharis rice mill which could provide sufficient rice for the state and some other States, Ekiti Gov Kayode Fayemi has also signed a contract with Cocharis to establish same in small Ekiti, so when that is done, small Ekiti will be supplying rice to big Ibadan, that's shameful...some claim Igbos are gullible, so can you see how they are gullibly planning ahead?
Go to Nnewi and see Innoson and other mighty automotive investment, what of Onitsha Main market and Ariaria Market in Aba...
But what do we have here...SHOPRITE
Also Kaduna state just few months ago inaugurated its own dry inland port which we both started together.. Kaduna's dry inland port is now fully operational, exporting to Niger and Chad whereas Oyo state is still clearing site for dry inland port at Moniya...before we say Hausa's are mumu...we need to check ourselves
Most governors and legislators are escaping directional criticism because people are expecting miracle from Buhari
Another case study is Prof Ben Ayade of Cross River state, I hope you are aware of the power project that was started few years ago which could serve the whole of Calabar on 24/7 power supply....
It is not all by roads and salaries....
Anambra state pays salaries latest by 26th,budget at least 10m naira for each school every session, each school has 2 sound proof generators and a 6kva petrol gen,two Innoson school buses,a computer lab with WiFi, so why are we boasting as an achiever?
Even NLC has to beg Cross Rivers state Prof Ben Ayade to stop paying workers ahead on the 1st of the month
Imagine Lagos came up with Lake rice and asked people to buy with state documents, does that communicate any sense?
Whereas Kebbi your partner hardly experience scarcity of rice
My dear GSM, don't let people deceive you into believing you are a performer, embark on long term projects even as you are paying salaries and settling Lautech's issue...you still have over 3 years and possibly an extra 4yrs if God permits, i'm happy you don't need to embezzle because you have more than enough to last your unborn generation personally..... Forget about satisfying all these glutton politicians, some of them are even waiting for opportunity to back stab you
Some years ago the so called Ajimobi of blessed memory visited Songhai farm in Benin republic with the promise to replicate same in Oyo state, he only came back to demolish Ayefele's Fresh FM, imagine if the farm has been established since then
A good percentage of commodities in Bodija and Gbagi markets come from other States, why?
Better late than never, now is the time to embark on long term beneficial project that we can always remember you for in the next 50 years, roads will damage, workers will retire, students will graduate into labour markets with little or no job, but your Legacy remains
We might not be related, but we share the same surname.... Makinde must be a great name like Awolowo
Expect more check and balance Sir
