SIT_AT_HOME: Tension grips Imo, Delta schools, markets shut

The sit-at-home order in Owerri, Imo State on Monday took a different dimension as residents and traders, out of fear of attack by suspected gunmen, scampered for safety.

The situation generated anxiety among commercial bus drivers and some residents who went out for shopping as they took to their heels.

The rumour of the attack came when some markets such as Eke Ukwu, Owerri, Relief, shops amongst others earlier opened for business were abruptly closed.

Traders on the streets of Owerri and Ekeukwu deserted their goods and wears while others immediately closed their shops.

While a good number of traders sustained injuries in the course of running for safety, others had their goods destroyed.

When contacted on the telephone, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Michael Abattam, said the command was investigating the cause of the stampede.

Meanwhile, there was also apprehension on Monday in Asaba and its environs as parents trooped to schools to pick their children as members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra allegedly entered the city to enforce the sit-at-home order.

One of our correspondents observed the development around 9.30am as school authorities were calling parents to pick their children.

It was gathered that IPOB members allegedly entered schools in Okwe area of Asaba and chased out schoolchildren and teachers.

At the popular Ogbogonogo market in Asaba, business activities were paralysed in the early hours of the day as traders stayed away from their shops.

It was observed that most of the shops were not open for business until 12 noon when traders were seen milling around, observing the situation so as not to be caught up unexpectedly by the hoodlums.

It was also gathered that unknown gunmen shot indiscriminately at Bonsaac which allegedly led to the death of one person, thereby creating apprehension in the state.

When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, said he was not aware of the killing even as he stated that the command had drafted personnel to every nook and cranny of the state to provide security for the people.

“He collected the list I brought from the hospital. He said the items in the list given to me were too much, he later said I should go and make a photocopy which I did. After I have done it, he said I should take it to the altar, he said he will pray on the list. While sitting down, he started pressing my stomach, he asked me how many months is my pregnancy? I said it is five months.

“He said that he is going to do some spiritual work me for before my delivery. He later stood up and entered a room, he called me to enter a room inside the church. He asked me to lie down which I did, he also said I should remove my clothes. I did all the things he asked my to do

“He dipped his middle finger with oil into my private part. He said my baby is vertical instead of being horizontal. He said he would put oil in my private part and would help me insert it with his private part so that the oil would get into the baby.

“He rubbed oil on his private part and asked me to open my legs. He then had s*x with me. He said he was not suppose to do it but helped me because my husband was not around.

“It was after he had s*x with me that I came into my right senses. He said I should swear that I should not tell anyone including my mother. He said I will die if I told anybody.

“He did not put on his garment when we had the s*x. When he was having s*x with me, he gave me one small cross that I should put on my navel. He also gave me table water and poured perfume inside, he also asked me to drink a little out of the water and prayed for me. That I should be using it and that the baby will turn to normal position within three days.”

Housewife Hangs Housemaid After Torturing Her to Déath

A housewife, Mrs Nene Fortune Stephens of number 18 Ogundola street, Bariga Lagos is cooling her heels at the Police station for allegedly múrdéring her housemaid.

She was said to have torturéd the maid identified as , Miss Joy Akom Adole from Benue state to déath over a dispute about salary arrears and stéaling of Indomie noodles.

After realising the girl had died, she with the help of her husband húng the poor girl and went to the police station with claims that she had committed suic!de.

The girls relatives who were aware of the acrimony between madam and maid raised an alarm and police investigations showed it was mürder. The girl had numerous bodily wounds, her feet were on the ground.
The Autopsy report later showed she was húng after she had given up the ghost.

After he was allegedly poisoned, Nigerian singer, Tolulope Ajayi, popularly known by as T-Classic, has been reacted T-Classic was reportedly poisoned over the weekend while hanging out with his friends. A viral picture of the singer on admission at the hospital after the incident has since gone viral on social media. Confirming the incident on Twitter, T-Classic disclosed that he’s getting better.
