ALIGN YOURSELF WITH THE SUPREME AUTHORITY 💪 (Pharaoh vs Herod)

Pharaoh had 2 dreams about the future years of abundance and famine. He got the interpretation from God through Joseph. He sought help from God by putting Joseph in charge of the situation. (Genesis 41)

He aligned himself with God. 🌺

King Herod did the opposite. He fought God.

“Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet (Matthew 2 KJV).

Herod believed the prophecy of God but thought that he can circumvent the plans of the Almighty God. He asked the wise men to return to him when they find the baby so that he too could go and worship him. His intention was to kill Jesus. When they did not return, having been instructed by God in a dream not to, Herod resorted to killing all the children two years and less, yet he did not succeed in getting Jesus.

He did not align himself with the Almighty. 🥀

SAME ACTION, DIFFERENT RESULTS 🌹🥀

All depends on following God’s instruction and timing.

God instructed the Israelites to collect daily portion of manna, except on the day before the sabbath when they were expected to collect double portions.

When they disobeyed by collecting more than instructed, it went bad by the next day. But on sabbath days, it did not spoil (Exodus 16).

LESSON❗️

If God has an opinion on a particular matter, we are not allowed to modify. Absolute obedience is required for maximum benefits.
