.
Segun and Runke Studied Engineering at a University in Lagos State.
They were both Classmates and after Five years of Studying hard, they both graduated. After graduation, Fate took them through different paths of life.
5 Years later, Runke after much frustration of securing a job, ended up as a Secretary in a Building firm earning 50,000 Naira monthly.
Meanwhile, Segun on the other hand, couldn't Secure a Job and ended up a Taxi Driver, He makes at least 5,000 daily and if he works for only 20 days in a month, He makes 100,000 Naira that month.

One Evening, Runke closed from work and was at the bus stop waiting for taxi when Segun stopped. She hopped in when she discovered the taxi was going her way but little did she know it was Segun. All through the journey, she was lost in her Phone.
She reached her bus Stop and after alighting, just when she was about paying, she took a look at the driver and their eyes met, wow! They were both happy.
"Is this you?" they both asked themselves simultaneously as if they planned it. Runke gave him money but Segun insisted she keep it. He was happy to see her and for old time sake, he left the money for her even when she insisted that she wanted to pay. They both exchanged contact and left.

Well, Runke went home that night and was lost in thought. Not as if Segun was looking bad but Segun driving Taxi? She couldn't wrap her head around it. She Pitied him. Felt Sorry for him. If Segun had allowed her she would have paid him and beg him to keep the change.
Little did she know that, Dayo actually has another Taxi running for him, He is a Land owner and he is planning on developing it soon. But because he was driving a Taxi, She felt Pity for him.

On the other hand, Segun felt sorry for himself too. Before he slept that night, he remembered Runke, how neatly she dressed and nice she smells, "She must be earning over 300,000 Naira per month" he said to himself. He felt ashamed, He felt like a failure and he felt she was way ahead of him financially and otherwise.
Little did he know that, If Runke removes the transportation fare and feeding money from her monthly salary, it will take her at least 3 Months to earn what he earns monthly.
Sadly, this could be some of our reality, you measure your progress and success with that of your Friends, Classmates and Relatives even with very limited information you have about them.

You think yours is worse because you look dirtier, you think yours is worse because you are not on Corporate wears, you think yours is worse because the other person acts and looks Nicer.
Stay Focused and Face your life. It's not a competition. Stop Comparing things, you don't have the full picture. Every one is running on his own lane. Be contented.

*Be focused. 👌*

I remember when I was teaching one SS3 student JAMB Mathematics. Her name is Kate. She was just seventeen years of age as at then but she had full blown features of a woman. I believe you understand (Of course you do😁)

Kate usually come to my place and we would both stay together in our parlour. Whenever she comes, she would sit close to me while I'm teaching her. Even though I used diplomacy to shift away from Kate a little bit, she'd still draw closer to me.

Another interesting thing Kate does whenever I was teaching her is that she leans on me, rubbing her dis-tin against my body.

One afternoon a friend of mine, Richard, was in the parlour when Kate came for lessons and she still acted the same without feeling shy or whatever. She even leaned on me as if she wanted to enter my skin.

I won't lie I was enjoying the way she was leaning against my body.

That day when she left I told Richard that it's like she's giving me signal to ask her out or something.

Richard is this kind of church guy.

He shut me up immediately, that I shouldn't try such nonsense.

Richard told me something which is so true and I can never forget what he said.

He said,

"David, some of these secondary school students don't really have sense of their own; as an adult you should know when to talk to them. They may not like it now but when they grow up they would be much grateful to you."

I thought about what Richard said and I knew he's right. Sometimes these teenagers may not know what they are doing. It is our duty as adults to correct them.

There is this JAMB Mathematics they call Matrix, which was given me tough time and Richard knows it very well.

I told Kate to meet my guy, Richard, so he'd put her through with the Matrix; after he's done then we'd continue with the General Mathematics I know.

One month after Richard taught Kate Matrix,

What happened? 🤷🏽‍♂️

She became pregnant for him. 😩

JUST A STORY.

Once upon a time, all the Animals in the bush devised a plan to put lion in a cage because Lion was killing them indiscriminately. They succeeded and put it in a cage.
One day, a certain Young boy was passing by the cage. The Lion, seeing the boy, pleaded with him to come to its rescue. At first, the Boy refused but after much persuasion, he became compassionate and agreed to free it on one condition: that the Lion will not kill him upon its release, without hesitating, the Lion agreed and the Boy opened the cage.

As soon as the Lion came out, it thanked the boy but pleaded with him further to complete the good work he had started.
How? The boy should present himself as food for the hungry lion! Reminding the lion of their agreement, the boy retorted, "Why do you want to repay a good thing with a bad thing?"
The lion replied, saying: "In this present world, bad things are used to repay good things. Good deeds are repaid with evil".
After a very long debate, the boy and the lion, decided to ask any three animals to confirm whether good is used to repay evil or vice versa (good for good/evil for evil). If all the animals say that bad things are used to repay good things, the lion would devour the boy but if otherwise, the boy would be free.
The first animal they met was Goat who said, "It is true that bad things are used to repay good things. I am a living example. My faeces is used as manure for farming but when the crops are harvested, I am NEVER allowed to taste what my faeces produced. Human beings always pursue and prevent me from tasting any part of the product from my dung"

Then, the Lion turned to the boy and said, "1:0."
So, they went to the dog and the dog said, "Bad things are used to repay good things. Everybody knows that I go into the bush for hunting. I assist faithfully to kill an animal and when it is time for that same animal to be eaten, all I get as reward are bones. Besides, at night while others sleep I stay awake keeping watch and even used oftentimes as a sacrificial lamb for the thief's bullet."
Again, the Lion turned to the boy and said, 2:0 "One more chance."
The third and last animal they met was the tortoise. In answering the question, Tortoise said: "Before I give you my response, I need to know how this argument started and, also, we have to go to where it started."

So the trio went to where the argument began and the boy narrated the whole story and scenario . Then Tortoise asked the boy:
"Where was the Lion the first time you met him?"
"In the cage," the boy responded"
"Go back into the cage," Tortoise told the Lion. So Lion entered the cage.
When the Lion went back into the cage, Tortoise asked the boy:
"Was the cage open or locked at that time?" He answered: "It was locked"
Then Tortoise locked the cage and said to the lucky boy, "Let's go. There is nothing more to say."

MORAL LESSON:
Always seek to hear a story from its start off point before commenting or passing judgement.
The two other witnesses were not wrong from their point of view, they are grieving based on what has been meted out to them but applied wrongly in the boy’s case.
Let’s be careful of the narratives if we are not the ones involved in a particular situation, it is the same sun that melts ice/wax that hardens clay.
The same boiling water that softens the yam, hardens the egg
To better understand the story, its better to know how it started. Before condemning some one, make sure you know their full side of the story.
