THE SYSTEM OF GOD'S JUSTICE, MERCY AND GRACE.
Understanding these three words is crucial because it anchors your faith in Jesus Christ alone and His crucifixion (1 Corinthians 2:2).
1. GOD'S SYSTEM OF JUSTICE
Justice represents God's divine system, where sin incurs the penalty of death. As stated in Ezekiel 18:4, 'The soul who sins shall die.' Romans 6:23 also emphasizes this, 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' This principle is evident from Adam and Eve, who, after their sin, required innocent lambs to die for their covering, as death is the consequence of sin.
2. GOD'S SYSTEM OF MERCY
God's mercy involves a system in which the sinner is spared from the deserved punishment, while the sin is still addressed. God, as a righteous judge, upholds the principle that sin must be punished with death. However, His mercy provides a way for an innocent substitute, like those innocent lambs, to bear the punishment that Adam and humanity should have received.
3. GOD'S SYSTEM OF GRACE
Adam and Eve's attempt to cover their nakedness with leaves was insufficient, as works alone couldn't bridge the gap. In His boundless love, God went the extra mile by sacrificing innocent lambs to create suitable coverings. They did not deserve this grace, but that's precisely what grace is about. Ephesians 2:8-9 explains it well, 'For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.'
We are in a season where false teachings and heresies may abound, just as the Bible warns in 2 Timothy 4:3-4. I urge you all to remain steadfast in your faith, fixing your eyes on Jesus Christ alone, as emphasized in Hebrews 12:2. Give yourself wholeheartedly to the study of God's Word, as 2 Timothy 3:16-17 advises, and not solely to human leaders or mentors.
Remember that the Holy Spirit, as mentioned in John 16:13, is committed to guiding you into all Truth. Keep yielding to His leading, and your path will continually be illuminated, as Psalm 119:105 reminds us, 'Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.
Jesus is Lord.
I call you blessed.
