ATTACKS ON POLICE FACILITIES, OTHERS – IGP ORDERS DEPLOYMENT OF ANTI-RIOT POLICE OFFICERS

· Charges Officers To Protect Lives And Defend Critical Infrastructure

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has ordered immediate nationwide deployment of anti-riot police unit - the Police Mobile Force (PMF) - to protect lives and property of all Nigerians and secure critical national infrastructure across the country. The IGP has also ordered massive deployment of Police operatives to strengthen security around Correctional facilities nationwide. The orders are coming on the heels of increasing attacks including acts of arson and malicious damage to public and private facilities as recorded in some States of the Federation including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Consequently, the Commissioners of Police in the thirty-six (36) States of the Federation and the FCT are to identify and isolate law-breakers from peaceful protesters; immediately arrest and diligently prosecute such perpetrators of violence in their respective Commands. The IGP notes that twelve (12) suspects have been arrested in connection with the attacks and arson on Police Stations in Benin, Edo State. Five (5) AK47 rifles earlier stolen from vandalized Police Stations have also been recovered.

The Inspector-General of Police calls on members of the public to avail the police with useful information that can lead to the re-arrest of the fleeing inmates, unlawfully released from Correctional facilities. Meanwhile, the IGP has advised parents/guardians to prevail on their children/wards to steer-clear of acts of violence and criminality as the Force will henceforth exercise the full powers of the law to prevent any further attempt on lives and property of citizens.

Edo govt declares 24-hour curfew

The Edo State Government hereby imposes a 24-hour curfew across the state till further notice.

The curfew is to take effect from 4pm, October 19, 2020.

This decision has become necessary because of the very disturbing incidents of vandalism and attacks on private individuals and institutions by hoodlums in the guise of protesters.

While the government of Edo State respects the rights of its citizens to undertake legitimate protests, it cannot sit idly when hoodlums have taken laws into their hands to cause mayhem on innocent citizens and the state.

By the directive, schools and businesses are to shut down activities accordingly. Those who cannot move safely are to stay put between now and 4pm till calmness is restored.

Parents are advised to rein in their children, youths and wards, to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

The responsibility of government is to protect lives and property and maintain law and order, therefore, anyone found outside in violation of the curfew would be dealt with according to the law.

Signed
Osarodion Ogie Esq.
Secretary to the State Government,
Edo State.

Food for thought;

Late Alconers Was in NPN.

Professor Owokowo was in UPN.

Late Alhaji Guy was in PRP.

All these three prominent Okpellans are siblings from thesame parents

Senator Franca Afegbuais( Senator between 1979 to 1983) the first Female Senator in Nigeria is one of their nieces and was NPN.

Politics as a game was fun then.

There was no malice, hatred, jeleosy and witch hurt

We must not all belongs to one party to attract and influence development. But we must use our brain.

We must play the game well,

We must focas well to know the direction the pendulum swinging to..

We must take advantage of our voting and other strengths.

We're not doomed,

We can learn from history and correct our mistakes going forward.

It should not be about the interest of individual political actors, but the interest of the society generally.

We know what's good for us.

I am not a saint,

My intentions are genuine .

Yours sincerely,

BREAKING NEWS!

CRACK IN OSM

There is currently a heavy Crisis in Obaseki/Shaibu Movement as some of their top members resign membership of the group and vowed to make the group unpopular, irrelevant and collapse it in totality.

Issues began few days ago when some members of the group from Ambrose Alli University Chapter pleaded with the group to intervene in the case of one of their executive members in the University who was suspended by the Vice Chancellor for an offence which was committed by another person entirely. The Secretary General of AAU Chapter Mr Abel Enaholo who was said to have ran out of patience after the OSM State Executives failed to prevent the suspension of the said Student even after they were notified of the issue before the suspension decided to notify the OSM leadership in one of their groups that they would resign from OSM if the group does not do anything about the Suspension of their colleague in a matter of weeks. The OSM State Coordinator Mr Samuel Egbes also called Heavy D who arrogantly ask Enaholo and any other persons who wish to resign to do so, led to the resignation of Enaholo who did not waste further time in exiting from all OSM platforms and publicly resigning.

As we speak the Crisis has thicken and taken another dimension as Resignation letters are flying out from different angles of the group. The AAU OSM Coordinator, Comrade Godday Okoida,(Statesman)who was ones the Ojie (President) of Esan Student Association, a former NAESS Executive and a very popular Comrade such as Enaholo in Ambrose Alli University has also tendered his resignation. As if that was not enough, the Publicity Secretary of the group Mr. Thompson Jotham this afternoon also also tendered his resignation. Comr. Dennis Oyomare who is also the Treasurer of the group and a member of SUG House of Parliament has also tendered a resignation letter. The popular Abel Enaholo of OSM, who is a Political scientist and also a very active member of OSM Media Team is said to have long move on, though it is not known whether he is joining the POI camp or remaining a supporter of Obaseki, being a strong PDP member with a high level of media influence.

Comrade Godday Idemudia Okoida (Statesman), who happens to be another very popular Political scientist in AAU that has led so many Unionism struggles with Enaholo in the institution, who resigned after the resignation of Enaholo, is said to be leaving OSM with a lot of followers as the two political scientists who are media gurus and great writers command a high level of followers within and outside the University community.

Another very popular executive member in the group, the popular Thompson Jotham aka Perfection of Ambrose Alli University who has also bided goodbye to the group will be leaving a great vacuum in the Chapter and OSM as a whole as he is a well know student of Ambrose Alli University who is not just an ordinary student but a blogger among bloggers.

As it is now, many Students of the institution including serving Students Union Executives have left the OSM. Surprisingly, some Local Government Executive members after these resignation are said to also be threatening to resign as many resignation will be falling out from OSM in the coming weeks. The State Coordinator and the initiator of OSM who are the two major cause of the issue is said to have already replaced the executives who resigned with some SUG Aspirants who many students have said they can never be loyal to as they accuse them of being management candidates and well known snitches in the University. This is indeed a trying times for OSM as it is crumbling drastically even before the 2020 Gubernatorial election and the fall of OSM is a welcomed development for it is long overdue as it has so many arrogant and greedy leaders with only few reasonable ones.
