KISS OF LIFE"
In 1968, the author received the Pulitzer Prize for this photograph - one of the most prestigious awards in the United States, which is awarded for achievements in music, cinema, theater and journalism.
The picture shows two electricians, Randall Champion and Jay Thompson, hanging from a power pole. That day there was a strong heat and nothing foreshadowed trouble. The hum of air conditioners in July 1967 was heard throughout the state of Florida. Because of them, in the city of Jacksonville, there was an overload of power lines, and this caused a power surge.
Randall and Jay were doing routine maintenance on a live line when Randall accidentally touched one of the wires. A discharge of 4000 V passed through the body and his heart stopped. For understanding: during the ex*****on in the electric chair, a voltage of 2000 V is used
Randall's lifeless body hung from the harness. But his partner Jay did not lose his head, realizing that every second is precious, he began to give him artificial respiration right on the pole. It was very inconvenient, but there was no other way out. In such a situation, it is difficult to conduct a normal resuscitation, but Jay still tried to start his friend's heart until he had a weak pulse.
Only after that he unhooked his partner's insurance and, throwing him over his shoulder, went down to the ground. By the time the rescuers arrived (they were called by professional photographer Rocco Morabito, who happened to be at the scene), Champion was already conscious on the ground.
Not only was he saved, thanks to Thompson, but he lived another 35 years. The electrician died in 2003 at the age of 64.
Thompson is alive today.

The Malian government accuses France of supplying arms to dangerous groups operating in the Sahel.

According to intelligence gathered by Malian officials, the country’s airspace has been breached more than 50 times in this year alone and mostly by French forces.

In a letter sent to the head of the United Nation Security Council on Monday, Malian Foreign Minister accuses Paris of using drones, military helicopters, and fighter jets in breaching his country’s airspace.

“These flagrant violations of Malian airspace were used by France to collect information for terrorist

Groups operating in the Sahel and to drop arms and ammunition to them,” the letter reads.

France's relationship with Africa continues to deteriorate as patriotic young Africans call for the continent’s leadership to sever all colonial ties with the European nation.

The French military forces who have been operating in the Sahel for years are recently kicked out amid several mass protests by Malian citizens.

THE ORIGIN OF LAGOS

When Nigeria was governed on the basis of tribe Northern (Hausa), Western (Yoruba) and Eastern (lgbo) regions and the colonial Lagos older than Nigeria itself was being claimed as a part of the Yoruba Westem region, by virtue of its location and Yoruba origin with reference to its Benin (Edo) royalty as far back as late 17th century and the American and Caribbean ongins of the descendants of the Ologbowo and the Popo Aguda (Brazilian) returnees of the 1840s. of course, original Lagosians of the time challenged the Lagos belongs the West theory; successfully proved the independence of the old Lagos (gede be L' eko wa) not only
stopped the attempt to merge Lagos with Westem Nigena but also got Lagos State as one of the first twelve states of Nigeria created in 1967

Since 1967, cosmopolitan Lagos has moved from being the capital of Nigeria to a mega city of excellence which now sets the pace of political, social and economical development more than it has ever done in the past. This is because, the ongin of Lagos has been influenced by mot only the (Idejo) chieftaincy, the Benin (Edo) Oba Ado royalty, the civilized and educated Saro (Olowogbowo) and Brazilian (Popo Aguda) returnees of the 1840s, the Tapa (Bida/Nupe), the Black Americans and the Caribbean (artisans of the early 19" century Lagos). These lots constitutes the force that built up Original Lagos (Eko Akoko) before the cessation of the colony of Lagos to the British crown in 1861, long before the creation of the British protectorate of Nigeria in 1914.

The original Lagosians established family compounds and business centres as far back as early 17th century, e.g Iga Aromire, Iga Iduganran, and the agboles (compounds) of the four original settlements Isale Eko, Olowogbowo, Oko Faji and Popo Aguda. These settlements of Lafiaji/lkoyi, Ebute Meta/Yaba were added during the colonial days.

By virtue of the above stated, original Lagos (Eko Akoko) produced Nigeria’s first modern day professionals such as lawyer Sapara-Williams (1880), Doctor J. K. Randle, Engineer Herbert Macaulay, Journalist Kitoyi Ajasa, Chartered Accountant Akintola Williams e.t.c all of them from the early Olowogbowo settlements.

In my own opinion, those who fabricate the very recent theory that Oba Ashipa was a Yoruba from lsheri instead of a Benin Prince from the Oba of Benin (Edo State) were mischievously, politically motivated to historically confirm the story of politicians of the 1940s who claim that Lagos belongs to the West; Yoruba/West of the regional Nigeria. The then Lagos politicians of the Action group Party controlled Western Nigeria went as far as to claim that some well known families of Lagos originated from Oyo, Ekiti, Ijebu, Egba, ljesha etc. in order to qualify them for membership of the Western Nigeria house of assemble or the Nigerian senate needless to say some got their fingers burnt when they were challenged by indigenes of the cities claimed in the 1940s.

The pillars of colonialism must be destroyed and the architects of capitalism must be completely neutralized in Africa.

Many Africans were led to believe that they were free after declaring independence from 1950s - 1990s, but a far greater colonialism is still in place.

Those independence proclamations were nothing but a mirage, the colonialists only took off the physical chains and shackles — the freedom and total liberation of our societies have not been achieved yet!

While Elizabeth recently celebrated her diamond jubilee in England, Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 is still under decades of British-led sanctions which has completely crippled its economy. Instead of rallying around Zimbabwe, many African leaders were celebrating their ex dictators jubilee. Congratulating Elizabeth while your brothers and sisters are being starved in Zimbabwe by Britain?

Some Africans adore Elizabeth and her royal family so much, meanwhile our brothers and sisters in South Africa 🇿🇦 continue to vacillate between exorbitant enthusiasm and irrational irritability, while the microscopic few apartheid beneficiaries live in byzantine luxury and proprietary solitude.

Do not forget the foreign multinationals crimes in Democratic Republic of Congo 🇨🇩 and the western-backed militias parading the streets of Libya, terrorizing our people. Remember, the destruction of Libya paved way for terrorism to thrive in the Sahara/Sahel regions of Africa.
