I was at Total Youth Summit by Jakande District to train on Becoming a Voice Over Acting professional.

I shared tips and strategies to kickstart a successful career in VoiceOver.

As a professional Voice Over Artist, it was pleasing sharing my experience with other young people. This is a special thanks to my boss and mentor .

Yesterday, I interviewed Mrs Tosin Adefeko, CEO/Founder of AT3 Resources on The Builder’s Story podcast for Sabi Writers Studios.

The show was nothing short of fun and educative at the same time. Mrs Tosin was affable, engaging and she made it easy to converse with her in such relaxed atmosphere. She is beautifully brown-skinned.

Hearing her tell her story from testing the waters in banking and finally finding settlement in Public Relations left me awed at her resilience and stamina. I’ll say more on LinkedIn 😉

In one of my previous posts, I talked about understanding yourself as a Voice Over Actor and stated that beyond Voice Acting, it is necessary that you understand yourself, identify your strengths, note your weaknesses then aim at working on them.

In Voice Over, there are different genres (I’ll be training on this at my Voice Over
On-site Workshop).

Understanding yourself helps you identify which genre you’re great at recording and which you need to get better at recording.

As a professional voice over person, I am amazing at recording audiobooks, that is my major strength.

I am also great at recording Corporate Narrations, E-learning, Explainer videos, documentaries and other voice works that will require me to explain and narrate.

I have also been able to identify my weakness which I have once mentioned on one of my posts here.

I am able to identify all these because I am trained to.

"Following the law in whatever dealing you have with people is paramount; be it professional or personal, because that could be your only saving grace when challenges occur." (Paraphrase)

On Saturday, I had an interview with the former Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning in Ogun State, Tpl Abiodun Stephen Adewolu.

After years of working and serving up to attaining the post of director in Lagos state, he transferred to Ogun state as response to a call to service by the Ogun state government.

Speaking with Tpl Adewolu was quite interesting; listening to the stories of his days working at Ajaokuta Steel, Lagos state and eventually Ogun state makes me want to become a Town Planner.

There's a lot to learn and glean from his knowledge and years of experience. One of the things I learnt is the assertion above.

I think I don't talk about challenges on the job enough...

So, on Saturday, after preparing my laptop, gotten enough data, made sure it's fully charged, got a serene place and checked all boxes at least to the best of my knowledge in preparation for my interview with ....

Logged on Facebook, only to realise that the option to send request to join the live(as it is in the first picture attached) was not appearing on my laptop, I had to immediately switch to my phone.

I didn't plan to use my phone to be honest, because my camera is not so good like I want it (Dear Lord! I need an iPhone badly). I had no choice but to use my phone.

Minutes into the interview, the network started acting up, to think that I was connected to WiFi apart from my data, switching between both.

I'm glad the holy spirit took charge, we were able to overcome the challenge and we were able to have an interesting conversation with viewers joining live in their numbers.
