PRESS RELEASE
*The Outcome of Meeting Between Students union government (SUG) and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) - ATBU Chapter*
Earlier today, [Students union government of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University SUG-ATBU] held a crucial meeting with the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) - ATBU Chapter, in an effort to address the concerns of our beloved students who have endured an extended period away from their academic pursuits.
The purpose of this meeting was to appeal to ASUU to reconsider their upcoming annual leave, taking into consideration the significant impact it would have on the students who have patiently awaited the resumption of academic activities. However, ASUU has eloquently articulated the necessity of this leave for their overall well-being, health, and the rejuvenation of their academic prowess, so that to give their best to students when resume on session.
We are pleased to announce that the annual leave, as discussed during the meeting, will commence following the Senate meeting scheduled for next week. This leave is set to span 30 working days, including Saturdays and Sundays, totaling 42 days.
Please be assured that [Students union government] is committed to keeping you updated on any developments regarding this matter. We understand the anticipation surrounding the release of results, and we are working to ensure timely communication.
As we are waiting for the results, the Students Union Government of [ATBU] wishes to convey their best wishes to all students.
Thank you.
