Breaking News: APC National Chairman, Adamu Announces Ahmed Lawan As Consensus Candidate.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC has announced the President of the Senate and APC Presidential Aspirant- Senator Ahmed Lawan as the consensus candidate of the Party.

It was gathered that Adamu announced this at the meeting of National Working Committee on Monday in Abuja.

Other Presidential aspirants which include Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, Engr. David Umahi and others will be allowed to contest the primary election at the convention scheduled to hold tomorrow Tuesday, May 7, 2022 at the Eagle Square, Abuja.

Mainwhile, crisis has hit the All Progressives Congress, APC following the announcement of Senate President Ahmed Lawan as consensus presidential aspirant by the national chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu.

The NWC members, our correspondent was informed, insisted other aspirants must be given a level playing ground to compete.

Adamu’s adoption of Lawan as consensus candidate is against the position of 11 APC northern governors who endorsed that power must shift to the South after President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure.

Adamu told the National Working Committee that he arrived at the choice of Lawan after consultation with President Buhari.

To ensure Adamu does not cause problems for the party and throw the country into an avoidable political crisis, our correspondent learnt the northern governors are on their way to the Villa to meet with President Buhari to stop the National Chairman from executing his personal agenda in the name of the president.

2023: Peter Obi Can Only Win Presidency On Social Media – Pastor Giwa

A popular Nigerian cleric, Pastor Adewale Giwa, has disclosed that the candidate of the Labor Party, LP, ahead of the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, does not have the strength to win at the polls.

Pastor Giwa who is the Senior Pastor of the Awaiting the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Ministry, Akure, Ondo State, emphasised that Obi only has followers on social media platforms, hence his capability of winning on social media.

Obi who was a top presidential aspirant under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, had a few weeks ago moved to the Labor Party following what he described as issues that are at variance with his persona and principles.

While stressing that Nigerian politics had been heavily monetized, the Pastor said the LP standard-bearer does not have the financial resources to pull an upset within the country’s political space.

Speaking on Friday, Giwa who said Obi is only dreaming, maintained that many factors will work against Obi at the polls.

“Peter Obi cannot do anything, he does not have the capacity, energy and strength. He is also not financially buoyant.

“In Nigeria, if you don’t have money, you cannot become the president. Even if you have popularity without money, you can’t become the president. Everything about Nigerian politics is money.

“Nigeria is not like America where politics is not monetized.

“The primary election where he was picked is the final destination for Peter Obi. He is the president of social media and elections are not won on social media. So media users will always vote for him on that platform. He is dreaming.

“Even the region where he is from is already widely divided politically. How will Obi be able to win.”

Late Osinachi Nwachukwu's husband,Peter Nwachukwu, sentenced to death by hang!ng as charged by the Attorney-General of the Federation.

The Federal Government has filed 23-count charges against Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late popular gospel artist, Osinachi, who died on April 8 after he allegedly assaulted her.

He was charged under sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, by the Attorney-General of the Federation.

The defendant was charged with culpable homicide contrary to section 221 of the Penal Code which is punishable with death by hanging.

Okorocha is my brother, I have begged him for forgiveness – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has begged his predecessor, Rochas Okorocha for forgiveness.

Uzodinma said he has extended an olive branch to all aggrieved stakeholders in the State, including Okorocha.

Featuring on Channels TV on Monday, the Governor stressed that he has nothing personal against the Imo West Senator.

Uzodinma urged those aggrieved to team up with him in working for the State.

The Governor described his predecessor as his brother who took over from him as a Senator.

“Okorocha is my brother. He is occupying the seat I left in the Senate. I have nothing personal against him.

“All I’m asking is even if I have done anything that does not go down well with him or anybody, forgive and forget. Let us come together to work for our people,” he said.

Since assuming office, Okorocha and Uzodinma have experienced a frosty relationship.

Some security operatives had in January arrested Okorocha’s son-in-law, Uche Nwosu.

After Nwosu’s arrest, Okorocha had accused Uzodinma of being responsible for the killing by unknown gunmen in the State.

Nigerian Driver Returns Over N1.2m Passenger Left in His Car in Abuja, Says He Didn’t Get Reward

A young Nigerian man, Emmanuel Christopher, returned over $3000 (N1,247,520) a lady forgot in his car after he served her as a taxi driver Despite the strong temptation to take the dollars and other foreign currencies, Emmanuel did the right thing and returned everything Nigerians who read about his story were angry that the passenger never rewarded the taxi driver with anything A young Nigerian driver, Emmanuel Christoper, has been praised online for his utmost honesty in returning valuables a passenger left in his car in Abuja. A woman known as Lara Wise who narrated his act of kindness on Facebook revealed that the man is a choir member in her church and he is a very committed person.

According to her, after Emmanuel dropped a female passenger in the federal capital, he soon realised she left behind a fat wallet in the back seat.

Not sure who really owns it, the man opened the purse to discover wads of dollar bills and other foreign currencies. He was able to count over $3000 (N1,247,520) and some other currencies in different denominations. Apart from the money, there were three ATM cards. The taxi driver also found three international passports.

Speaking to Lara about the encounter and the temptation to take the money, he said: "My mind spoke to me and I spoke back to my mind."

When Emmanuel returned the money and valuables, the lady was in shock and kept shedding hot tears. She never rewarded the driver with a dime. Despite that, he stated that he feels so much at peace with what he had done.
